My question is why didn't God create a book for all of humanity to understand? Translations have butchered texts and some where completely changed in terminology. It's like men in power have complete power over this book. He created the beings, he allowed the possibility of sin to exist as a concept, and he created the punishment. So it is still just as cruel to knowingly allow such an inevitably horrible system even if you say he didn't "cause" their rebellion.
If any human being concocted a similar concept of creating beings they know will end up tormented forever, you'd call it cruel, not holy.
Causation is irrelevant here. Once you know the horrible, inevitable outcome and still allow, then that is still abhorrent and morally grotesque.
