Is there truth to the prosperity gospel?

Should Christians be rich like Abraham? The 'Prosperity Gospel' promises wealth to those who put their faith in Jesus. But is wealth a guarantee for all believers? 28 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. 3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. 5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. 6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. It is not 'gospel'. It is a doctrine, and a false one at that. If it is not an ideology promoted within the first four books of the new testament of the bible, then it is not 'gospel'. 'Prosperity doctrine' is what happened when the capitalists infiltrated christianity back in the 70's and 80's.

A simple spiritual truth is that obsessing with the gain of material possessions is how the negative power gains control over you. The Devil tried to control Jesus by offering him vast possessions. Of course Jesus knew that was a pathetic scam. However, PG uses mass hysteria to persuade even the most savvy. Don't fall for it!

Every single law, battle, blessing and punishment in the Old Testament was done for the sole purpose of maintaining the line from Abraham to David to Jesus Christ. Anyone abiding by the old Covenant after the birth death and resurrection of Christ is an enemy of the church. They are Antichrist. 1 John 2:22 They are the Synagogue of Satan. Revelation 3:9

Is the sure means of assuredly knowing God Lord Yehovah and the sure way of ascertaining the certainty of any supposed knowledge of God Lord Yehovah by personal experience of God Lord Yehovah or any supposed testimony of the knowledge of God Lord Yehovah from any other person no matter who, to avoid self deception and or deception by any other person. As there is no substitute to personal righteousness in God Lord Yehovah so is there no substitute to the personal word of God Lord Yehovah in the testimony of Yehovah in the book of the law and the prophets and hence no substitute to the book of the law, the prophets and writings of God Lord Yehovah. Joshua 1:1,8 ASV Now it came to pass after the death of Moses the servant of Jehovah, that Jehovah spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying, [8] This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate thereon day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Exodus 19:9 ASV And Jehovah said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and may also believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto Jehovah. Nehemiah 9:7,13-14,20 ASV Thou art Jehovah the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham, [13] Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments, [14] and madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them commandments, and statutes, and a law, by Moses thy servant, [20] Thou gavest also thy good Spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst. Exodus 34:27 ASV And Jehovah said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. Deuteronomy 31:24-26 ASV And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, [25] that Moses commanded the Levites, that bare the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, saying, [26] Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. Jeremiah 9:23-24 ASV Thus saith Jehovah, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches; [24] but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he hath understanding, and knoweth me, that I am Jehovah who exerciseth lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith Jehovah. Hosea 6:1-3 ASV Come, and let us return unto Jehovah; for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. [2] After two days will he revive us: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live before him. [3] And let us know, let us follow on to know Jehovah: his going forth is sure as the morning; and he will come unto us as the rain, as the latter rain that watereth the earth. Psalm 95:3,6-8 ASV For Jehovah is a great God, And a great King above all gods. [6] Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before Jehovah our Maker: [7] For he is our God, And we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To-day, oh that ye would hear his voice! [8] Harden not your heart, as at Meribah, As in the day of Massah in the wilderness; Psalm 16:8,11 ASV I have set Jehovah always before me: Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. [11] Thou wilt show me the path of life: In thy presence is fulness of joy; In thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

THE WAY TO LIFE IS NARROW ! And few there are who find it!  Few men find the Way, because so few are prepared to follow the Savior of the world on the road that leads to eternal life. When Jesus said, “You cannot be my Disciple unless you deny yourself, take up your cross and follow Me” He was addresing multitudes who were following Him, 2,000 years ago.  Matt. 7: 13-14;   Luke 14: 25 – 35;   Matt: 7: 21-27 Yet, to-day billions, confess they are Christians, How many are truly prepared to follow & obey the Lord of Glory?   By truly Loving God and keeping His Commandments. Deuteronomy 5: 6 -21;  “There is a way to man that seems right,  But the ways thereof lead to destruction.”  Prov. 16: 25;  14: 12; “What does it profit a man if he gain the whole world, then suffers the loss of his own soul!   What will a man give in exchange for his soul ?"  "If we break even one Commandment, are we not guilty of breaking them all.   Matt. 16: 24 -27.  Revelation 21:6 - 8.  James 2: If mankind would fight for ‘’Righteousness and Truth" as hard as they fight to satisfy their Pride, Lusts, Vanity, Covetousness, Greed, Anger, Envy, Self-Justification, Idolatry, Sorcery, Witchcraft, False Prophets & Teachers, Liars Thieves, Murderers, Rapists of children, Incest, Theft, Sodomy, Fraud, Greed for Gold, Silver and Treasures of this world;   This world which is passing away and the lusts of it.. The whole world could be saved!   Galatians 5: 19-25;  6:  1John 2: 15-18;  27-28;  2 Peter 2:  Matthew 5: 6: 7:  Philippians 3: To live and die out of CHRIST results in ETERNAL DAMNATION.  But the fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom, for all who have Faith in God, walk in LOVE - humility and obedience, for the Glory of God, through Jesus Christ our Lord & Savior.   Psalm. 111-10;  Read Psalm 34:  Psalm 119: Why do blind men follow blindly, the sayings and doings of blind evil wicked sinful men & women? Matt.  15: 13 -14;  “It's because they are blind and the blind deceive the blind.” No man is able to deceive the elect children of God, they know in whom they believe & where they are going.   The Son's of Almighty God the Father, are led by the Holy Spirit of Christ. There is no condemnation for those who are in CHRIST JESUS our LORD.  Romans 8: Romans 6:   Ephesians 1: 2:  Colossians; 1st.Epistle St John 1:- 5: Our blessed Lord Jesus is the only Man ever born of a Virgin.  Our LORD JESUS CHRIST knew where He had came from and where he was going.. This is the reason He said..... “I AM THE WAY – The TRUTH and The LIFE “ And still so FEW truly deny themselves, take up their cross and follow Him,  For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us who are saved it is the power of God.  1 Corinthians 1: 2: For it is only by Faith in His miraculous Birth, Life, Passion, Crucifixion, Death, Burial, Resurrection and Ascension into Heaven! that a man will ever be saved. Unless a man is Born Again from above, he shall not see the Kingdom of Heaven, But the wrath of God abides on him. Gospel John 3: 1- 21;  11: 25 - 27;  14: - 17: Meditate in the Words of the SON OF GOD!  They are SPIRIT and LIFE. “Unless a man eat the Words of Christ, the living Bread and Drinks from the Fountain of Living Waters, He shall not have Life in himself, or ever see the Kingdom of God“   John 6: 53- 63 Man does not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of GOD...  Matthew. 4:  Luke  4: Meditate in the Gospels & Epistles of St.John. 1: - 5: The Living Bread Who came down from heaven. Feed on the WORD of GOD.  It is Spirit & Life, and then receive great peace of mind & heart and Joy beyond human understanding!  Because the WORD of GOD is Living & Powerful and Sharper than any double-edged sword; piercing even to the division of soul & spirit and of joints & marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts & intentions of the heart. Galatians 3:13-14 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree. That the Blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Abraham's blessing was material since he wasn't born again. Through Jesus going to the cross, we have the spiritual blessings in the new covenant, with the material blessings in the old (wealth and riches)

If the verses in the Old Testament that are not directly addressed to us, (as he shared about Jeremiah 29:11) do not pertain to us, then most of the verses in the Old and New Testament do not pertain to us. Most are spoken to different people. Do you think we should just throw them out like Andy Stanley believes? I do not! The principles are still valid and relevant and do pertain to us today. 🤔

Its a trip but whatever thats how it go...Some people when the blessings dont come or dont come to pass like the bible says some people may have a crisis if faith some people may start questioning the bible and stop following it i aint soeakingvfor everybody im just saying that has probably happened before to alot of people they start off veliving it then when things dont work out after a certain amount of time they start going this stuff aint true this a lie i aint following this book no more i give i do all that a d im still broke and to top it off people that dont even live by it are the ines that got money and stuff in life i folliw this book which is suppise to be Gods word and im broke im tired of it screw this book....i aint saying thats the right thing to do im saying im sure that has happened to people or people have thought like that before..

We must endure to get the crown. No mind can comprehend what God has for us in heaven. That's the promise. He has already sustained us here on earth. We have enough. We have a mind, ears, nose, eyes, mouth, hands, feet, God has given us to work with to earn a living, and to preach the gospel with. Yet these preachers know that the flesh is carnal and they manipulate the gospel to teach their own rhetoric which is false. End times guys. We need to spread the truth more!

Just a fraction of what God says about prosperity. Listen to God. 2 Corinthians 9:8 NKJV — And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 2 Corinthians 8:9 NKJV — For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. Deuteronomy 8:18 NKJV — “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. Galatians 3:13 NKJV — Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), - poverty is a part of the curse 1 Timothy 6:17 NKJV — Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. James 5:11 NKJV — Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. Mark 10:30 NKJV — “who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life. John 10:10 NKJV — “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. Psalm 37:4 NKJV — Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Proverbs 13:4 NKJV — The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich. Proverbs 11:25 NKJV — The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself. Matthew 6:33 NKJV — “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

"And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were put to death by stoning; they were sawn in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and ill-treated – the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground. These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect." I’m just trying to understand and get to the truth about what he’s saying: So he’s saying certain things in the Old Testament may apply to us as 21st century Christians and certain things do not? I feel that either all of it applies or none of it applies. I understand his argument that Jeremiah 29:11 is speaking to the Hebrews in Babylon while they were under great oppression. And that we should understand the character of God when we read that but God is the same God in the OT and NT, yes the OT is under law and the NT is under grace but does that mean the meaning changes because it is a different time? I would like to hear other people’s opinions on this Thanks

1 Timothy 6 6 But godliness with contentment is a great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with these. 9 But those who want to be rich fall into temptation, a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and by craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pains. Instructions to the Rich 17 Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy. 18 Instruct them to do what is good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a good reserve for the age to come, so that they may take hold of life that is real.
