"Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ." This does not say DO NOT keep it. It can be read as do not be judged on how you keep it, but still keep it. The importance is further highlighted by the fact that it is a shadow of things to come. IF THEY ARE A SHADOW OF THINGS TO COME, THEY ARE VERY MUCH REAL AND NOT "RESOLVED". I'd even argue it's saying do not let anyone judge you FOR keeping the Sabbath day.
@evanolofia5271 Says:
The change from Sabbath to Sunday was not initiated by Jesus or the apostles but emerged through a complex interplay of factors in the early centuries of Christianity. The Catholic Church's assertion of authority, the desire to differentiate from Judaism, and the influence of pagan sun worship all contributed to the gradual establishment of Sunday as the primary day of worship for mainstream Christianity.
@ShaymeMO Says:
The point is there is no command that we should worship on Sunday. And the fact is God commanded us to keep holy the 7th day Sabbath (Exodus 20:8-11). Then why worship on Sunday? No ammendment was made in the New Testament that Saturday is being abolished and Sunday should be made a day of worship. Quoting Colosians 2 for justifying that the Sabbath is no longer binding is misapplied since it talks about the commandments of man ( verse 22) while the 7th day Sabbath is really a command. "Nothing is said in the Bible about the change of the Lord’s day from Saturday to Sunday. We know of the change only from the tradition of the Church—a fact handed down to us from earliest times by the living voice of the Church. That is why we find so illogical the attitude of many non-Catholics, who say that they will believe nothing unless they can find it in the Bible and yet will continue to keep Sunday as the Lord’s day on the say-so of the Catholic Church." Jesus said, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished” (Matthew 5:17–18). This important statement of our Lord gives us insight into His mission and the character of God’s Word. Do do listen to those who make you believe that they have the knowledge. Everyone need to read the bible for themselves. We live in a time when decapitation is rapid.

According to my research Why do God rest after creation? When someone died,,we rest and mourn. Revelation 13:8 describes that all people whose names are not written in the "Book of Life" of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world will worship the Beast. Can we say God rest to mourn the lamb slain from the foundation of the world? Colossians 2:16–17 encourages believers not to let others judge them for their choices concerning food, drink, religious festivals, new moons, or Sabbaths, because these are merely "shadows" of Christ, who is the "substance" or reality. From this passage,we see that Jesus is the Sabbath, our eternal rest

Really disappointing Frank holds this view. The most blatant distinctive behavioral mark of Gods people was the sabbath. No messiah believing Jew would need to be told to Keep it. On the other hand if Yah did mean for it to end, a very clear message would have had to addressed it. THE SABBATH IS GODS GIFT TO MAN. Hence the sabbath was made for man. I pity anyone who disregards such a precious gift from ABBA. Hey Frank- The sabbath is a PLEASURE. START ENJOYING IT!!!

The Sabbath is Saturday, not Sunday. God never changed his law whatsoever. If God did change his law that would make God a liar!!! That would also make him mentally ill, as if he had schizophrenia or bipolar. I don't understand how these church leaders either lie or don't care about it. What a shame, I don't know what else to say.

Sunday CANNOT BE PART OF THE NEW COVENANT. For Sunday to be part of the new Covenant, Christ would have had to announce it PUBLICLY BEFORE SEALING THE NEW COVENANT WITH HIS BLOOD. That's nowhere in scripture. Once the New Covenant was sealed with Christ's blood, you could not add to it or subtract from it. Sunday is not part of the New Covenant.
@danielcristancho3524 Says:
What? Can you keep the law of the OT? Well, they are commandments. So, we fall and we fail but we still strive to keep them. I don't know what his point is. Don't bother keeping the law because it's impossible? Nothing is impossible with God's help. God wouldn't give us laws we couldn't keep. In fact, there's a promise in the bible that we are never tempted beyond what we can bear but God always provides a way of escape.

"When the (Levitical) PRIESTHOOD was changed, the LAWS (Moses/Mosaic) must be changed as well." (ref. Hebrews 7:12)... which is now the "LAW OF CHRIST." Christ said, "Come to ME all of you who are TIRED/WEARY of carrying HEAVY LOADS (Laws of Moses/Mosaic), for MY YOKE (Ways) is EASY and MY BURDEN (Tasks) is LIGHT... come to ME, and I will give you (Physical/Spiritual) REST." ...(ref. Matt. 11:28-30)... "REST" (peacefully calm) means the "SABBATH of CHRIST," which was celebrated every SUNDAY (1st day of the week) by Early Christians from house to house starting in the 1st Century A.D. (ref. Acts 20:7)... to celebrate the RESURRECTION DAY and the commemoration/remembrance of the BREAKING of BREAD... Early morning of SUNDAY, when God/YHWH resurrected HIS beloved Son/Word/Christ Jesus from the tomb, witnessed by many... and attested by 4 Gospel Writers... Praise be to God in Christ Jesus... Amen.
@ReignMan71 Says:
The “sabbaths” Paul was talking about are the “festival sabbaths”. When we say Jesus paid and is the ultimate sacrifice, those are the sacrifices Jesus covered. God knew it would be nearly impossible for us to keep up with the burnt offerings and sacrifices. However, we are not excused from keeping the 4th commandment. Please, stop listening to men like this. Don’t even take my word for it. Jesus said that He and His Father are one and if you love Jesus, you’ll keep His commandments. Furthermore, Jesus said His Father is greater than Himself. Consider this, God is greater than Jesus…Jesus and His Father are one…keep His commandments. Jesus fulfilled the laws/commandments of His Father…all 10…especially the 4th commandment (Saturday/Sabbath). This preacher just told the lady that we (meaning: man) decided to honor Jesus on Sunday because he is our rest. God, Jesus, nor the Holy Ghost ever said man had the authority to change God’s Sabbath. God does tell us “hearken not to false prophets”. Read Jeremiah Ch. 23. Also, read a book titled “National Sunday Law” by, A. Jan Marcussen. It’s a short read full of amazing scriptural truths. Have your bible handy to read along. Please, stop trusting your salvation to men. Read God’s word for yourselves and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in your search for the truth…God’s divine everlasting truth. May God bless and keep you all.

Jesus referred to the 10 commandments when asked what the greatest commandment was. Commands 1-4=Love God and commands 5-10=Love Neighbor.
@PatriciaMoreau-y9o Says:
If you were being truthful you know the Catholic Church admitted to changing Sabbath to Sunday on their own authority which they themselves state has no biblical evidence!! Also Revelation "here lies the patience of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus ". Also in Revelation the first angels message basically quotes from the 4th commandment in Exodus 20 the One who made heaven and earth the sea and the fountains of water and all that in them is. This is the only commandment who tells us exactly who God is-the creator!! The Roman church thinks it's funny Protestants claim sola scriptura then follow the tradition of the 'mother church '
@shoeshineboy5869 Says:
So, how come when Jesus said, " I have not come to change one jot or tittle of the law", which includes the Sabbath, He didn't add in " But hey, I'm gonna be dead in a couple of days and this part doesn't count?" The early church kept the sabbath. About 350 AD, Christ's church had to go underground or die, and they took their Hebrew Gospels with them. The New Testament was actually written in Hebrew, not Greek as we have been taught/ just a side note, let me know if you want proof. Thank you, Constantine! Then, the Roman Catholic Church takes up where the Romans and Constantine left off and continued to murder and persecute Christ's Church including Messianic Jews for 1,400 years! The preacher quoted the Bible as saying, "Christ is now our Sabbath". That is and was meant to be a metaphor. The Sabbath is important in other than spiritual ways. We are physical beings, and so are our animals. There is physical, phycological and spiritual reasons for the Sabbath. Jesus did not intend for His follower to abolish God's Sabbath, which was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
@camillaa.5231 Says:
There is no Sabbath in the Gospel of Christ. When did God rescue Believers of Christ from slavery in Egypt? The Sabbath Commandment and reminders appear continually in the Old Testament yet there is not a single Sabbath reminder in the NT - BECAUSE THE SABBATH COMMANDMENT IS ABSENT in the Gospel. The Sabbath was GIVEN TO ISRAEL AS A SIGN. The Law - and the Sabbath, separated Israel from the idol worshipping Gentiles, yet Israel left the true God and worshipped the gods of the Gentiles. This is what the Word of God, the Bible says. SABBATH-KEEPERS may keep Sabbath - it's their choice. There is NO COMMAND TO THE JEWS (THE CIRCUMCISION) TO STOP KEEPING SABBATH - NEITHER IS THERE A COMMAND FOR GENTILES (THE UNCIRCUMCISION) TO KEEP SABBATH. No matter what Sabbatarians say; no matter how hard they try, they CANNOT - and are UNABLE to come up with a SABBATH COMMAND in the New Testament or even the "Six days thou shalt work" clause. That clause occur ONCE in the NT and it was the Sabbath-keeping Pharisees (Jews) who was playing high and mighty with the Lord of the Sabbath. Sabbatarians pick Israel's Sabbath as a day to worship together - other Christians pick Christ's Resurrection Day, the First day of the week. If Sabbatarians are convinced of Israel's Sabbath - by all means, KEEP IT (Romans 14:5) - but don't play all righteous because of it, for in no way does your righteousness surpass the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, in Jesus' day! (Matt. 5:20) Christ said: "For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John." (Matt. 11:13) Is the Law of Moses superior to the Law of Christ? Not for me, certainly!
@jongrenon2596 Says:
Is the sabbath still holy? Is marriage holy?
@RomanKorchak Says:
Its very simple why the seventh day is separated “Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ And later it was just detailed how to keep it holy. By separating the sabbath, you simply recognize and proclaim that God is the creator of everything. There is not even a hint anywhere in the Bible to keep Sunday holy in any way.

THE TRUE MEANING OF THE BLOTTING OUT OF HANDWRITING OF ORDINANCES Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. 16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days SUMMARY What this verses is saying is that the Sacrificial System of Israel has been done away with, once Christ, the true Sacrificial Lamb of God died on the cross. Therefore, don't allow anyone to tell you that you need to be abiding by the Old Testament Sacrificial System anymore. For proof, consider the following 1. ORDINANCES: SACRIFICES Numbers 19:2 This is the "Ordinance" of the law which the Lord hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a RED HEIFER without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke: 2. JUDGING IN MEAT, DRINK, SABBATHS, NEW MOONS ( Colossians 2:16) Leviticus 23:37 These are the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord, a burnt offering, and a MEAT offering, a sacrifice, and DRINK offerings, every thing upon his day: 38 Beside the SABBATHS of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the Lord. THE DRINK OFFERING Numbers 15:5 and you shall prepare wine for the drink offering, one-fourth of a hin, with the burnt offering or for the sacrifice, for each lamb THE MEAT OFFERINGS ◇ Passover [ Leviticus 23:5 ] The 14th day of the First Month. ◇ Feast of Unleavened Bread The 15th day of the First Month [ Leviticus 23:6-8 ] ◇ Offering Of Firstfruits [ Leviticus 23:9-14 ] ◇ Festival Of Weeks [ Leviticus 23:15-22 ] THE 'SABBATHS' OF COLOSSIANS ◇ Festival Of Trumpets On the 7th month, the first day of that month ( regardless if it fell on a Sunday - Friday) was to be treated as a Sabbath [ Leviticus 23:24-25 ] This was in addition to the Seventh Day Sabbath. ◇ Day Of Atonement On the 7th month, the evening of the 9th day till the 10th day shall be treated as a Sabbath [ Leviticus 23: 27-32 ] This was in addition to the Seventh Day Sabbath. ◇ Feast Of Tabernacles ▪On the 7th month, the 15th day shall be treated as a Sabbath. [ Leviticus 23: 34-39 ] ▪On the 7th month, the 22nd day shall be treated as a Sabbath. [ Leviticus 23:39-41 ] These two Sabbaths were in addition to the Seventh Day Sabbath Note: Each of these special Sabbath days, when taken as a whole, were referred to as 'Sabbaths' in Colossians 2:16. These 'Special Sabbaths' occurred various times each year. NEW MOON Ezekiel 46:6 And in the day of the new moon it shall be a young bullock without blemish, and six lambs, and a ram: they shall be without blemish. CONCLUSION Do you see the word "Ordinances" in COLOSSIANS 2:14? Numbers 19:2 explains that an "Ordinance" was a Sacrifice!!!! Therefore Colossians 2:14-16 is specifically talking about the various Sacrifices, offerings of Meat and Drink, and Sabbaths that were going to be Blotted out (removed), and done away with. And Leviticus 23 is speaking about those Sacrifices and offerings referenced in COLOSSIANS. This makes sense, because why would Christians need to continue sacrificing animals, when the true Lamb of God was sacrificed. There was no more reason for animal sacrifices, which is why you don't offer a lamb for your sins today! Therefore if anyone tells you that this means that God's Ten Commandments were done away, or the weekly Sabbath, they are seriously mistaken.
@Vincent-gc3cu Says:
THE SABBATH STANDS FOREVER 1 John 3:4  Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. SUMMARY This is telling us that whenever you disobey "The Law", or the Ten Commandments of God, you have committed a sin against God. It didnt say nine of those Commandments, but the entirety of "The Law". Another way of saying it is, you CANNOT commit a SIN unless you violate one of his Commandments FACTS CONCERING THE SABBATH 1. The book of '1 John' is the New Testament, and was written decades after the death of Christ, and the author still recognized the Sabbath. 2. The Book of Mark was written about 24 years after the death of Christ. As the author reflected back on those days, he wrote that the Sabbath was already over, when the women went to the Tomb of Jesus (Mark 16:1). This meant the author still recognized that the Sabbath was the 7th day of week, even 24 years after the Resurrection of Christ 3. SABBATH OBSERVANCE AFTER THE DEATH OF JESUS CHRIST ◇ Acts 13:14-15 Paul went to Antioch, and on the Sabbath he read scriptures and preached to the Gentiles. ◇ Acts 13:42-44 ( The next week the Gentiles returned on the Sabbath to hear the Gospel preached by Paul) ◇ Acts 16:12-15 (Lydia baptized on the Sabbath) ◇ Acts 18:4 And he (Paul) reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks. Acts 18:11 And he (Paul) continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them. This equals to Paul preaching for 78 Sabbaths SUMMARY If the Sabbath was done away with, as some say, Paul would have known, since Christ spend 40 days with the Apostles after he rose from the grave. But it wasn't abolished, which is why you read of Paul going to the Synagogue on the Sabbath. And he did so for 18 months continuously. He could have chosen another day to enter into the synagogue to preach, but he didnt! That is very telling indeed. Also, the Book of Acts was written around 64AD, as the author reflected back in time. When he wrote the Book of Acts, if the Sabbath was no longer a part of the Law of God, Paul, in Acts 13:14-15, he would have used words like ( Former, Bygone, Old, Past ) to describe the Sabbath. " Paul went to Antioch, and on the 'Former Sabbath' he read scriptures and preached to the Gentiles" But Paul didn't use such words to describe the Sabbath. He wrote in a certain manner, using explicit language such as, "The Sabbath", meaning the one the Jews knew about, at the time he wrote the book of Acts.
@ikemyung8623 Says:
Exodus 31:16 "Therefore the people of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, observing the Sabbath throughout their generations, as a covenant forever." But you say, "I'm not a person of Israel." Well, who were the Israelites? They were decedents of Abraham, right? Galatians 3:29 "And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise." So if you have given yourself to Christ, if you are a follower of Jesus by faith, then according to Paul, you ARE a child of Abraham spiritually, and therefore, the Sabbath is a forever covenant for you, just as it was for ancient Israel. This gentleman means well, but he doesn't understand the plain teaching of the Bible.

Neither on Saturday or Sunday, both days like the rest of the week is from midnight to midnight on a daily basis while The Biblical weekly Sabbath is from sunset Friday to sundown Saturday (pagan names used for reference purposes only) and throughout the bible as a whole the days are always from evening to morning or in other words the evening is from sunset today until sunrise tomorrow and the morning is from sunrise tomorrow until sunset tomorrow, not only this but the vast majority of well meaning Christians no matter the Christian denomination have forgotten that the early church were encouraged to live in good relationships with each other from sunset to sunset on a daily basis when our late brother Paul stated as it were... "...be angry and do not sin, let not be sunset on your wrath or do not remain angry as the sun goes down..." (See Ephesians 4: 26)

This is my journey yours may be different. I have not been able to find any where “God” Blessed and sanctified any other day. Jesus rested on the Sabbath from his work of a sacrificial life for us. Gods Sabbath reminds me to rest in His work of salvation. Mark 15 and John 19:30. I can add nothing to it or earn it. The Sabbath also reminds me we were created (Genesis). That God is the only one that can set us free from sin Exodus 20, Deuteronomy 5 That is why I cease from my labors and rest on Jesus’ day of rest. As I reflect on the above I am humbled to realize all Jesus did for me and everyone else. May the Lord bless and keep you until He returns. Point 2. The Lord wrote the 10 commandments in stone, including the 4th. When I read the forth I see that it says "On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns." It was also for the foreigner. The Jews were placed on a trade route and were to be teaching all who went through about God and His ways. Question. Is not murdering, not lying, not worshiping other Gods, not taking the Lords name in vain only for the Jews? I'm not clear on why all the other commandments written by God Himself Exodus 31:18 are for all except the 7th day Sabbath. In the New testament the passages used to try and say the Sabbath was done away with are either pointing to the feast day Sabbaths which pointed to Christs sacrifice or are about the believers gathering together to meet. Back to my first point. I find nowhere where God said the new Sabbath for believers is Sunday or Blessed and made Holy / Sanctified Sunday. I know my journey may be different from yours. No condemnation on what you do that is not my prerogative. Blessings on your journey.
