The bible says in Ephesians 6 we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Addictions are spiritual strongholds that needs to be broken through deliverance.

Do not be deceived! Understand the simplicity that is in Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3). The Gospel (1 Corinthians 15). Amazing Grace from God! Eternal life is a free gift! We are all sinners in the flesh who have fallen short of the glory of God and deserve eternal punishment. We all need a savior to save us from eternal punishment in the lake of fire because God hates sin and it separates us from God in Heaven. But God so loved us that he sent his only begotten Son to pay for ALL of our sins. Jesus Christ died for our sins, buried, and rose from the dead. If we believe and trust in Christ who paid ALL of our sin debt, then we are born again in the spirit and His righteousness is imputed on us. We are saved by grace through faith and it is NOT of ourselves or works that save us, ONLY Christ alone 100%. Therefore, we have eternal life as a free gift from God. How amazing is the Grace of God! Believe on Christ while you still have the opportunity. Once you die, it is too late and then comes the judgment of eternal punishment according to your works. Ephesians 1 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

I don't know,but I would stay after God in prayer for deliverance.Theres a Scripture obedience is better than sacrifice.That means it's better to be faithful to God then to give presents for your sin.

I agree. My only problem to this answer is “we sin everyday” which is not true according to scripture. (1 John 1:5-10). This ideology can be a problem for Christians because often times from what I have observed they will us Jesus as an excuse to keep sinning or thinking you will sin in the future and there is nothing you can do to stop it. Jesus says otherwise. Jesus has told people in the New Testament to go and see no more (John 8:3-11). There is more examples and evidence in the Bible, but you get the point I hope.

I'm a recovering addict. I think there is a difference between genuine remorse, repentance & and truly trying to turn from it and messing up from time to time. Someone who continues to use drugs & alcohol on a daily basis & says "I'm a Christian" to me doesn't seem saved. They aren't truly repentant & wanting to turn from their sin. Help is out there- detox (to safely get off drugs) inpatient treatment (a safe place to give you a jump start and some sobriety behind you) outpatient treatment or AA (to continue your sobriety when back in the real world) & of course church, Gods word, prayer & the love of Jesus Christ. There really is no excuse if you truly want sobriety. Drunks do not inherit the kingdom of God. It is not a disease like the world wants you to believe, it is a sin.. But if you lean on Jesus Christ he will help you just like he helped me ❤

Getting her saved was the easy part. If you don’t have the resources yourself refer and take them to another ministry who does. I used to work with addicts for a little bit. They are many Christian ministries / secular organizations who have rehab homes, what does the government have to do with its besides the documents she made need? She can get saved, but getting delivered and free isn’t going to happen in the environment where she’s at. She’s not going to get free on her own terms. She’s gonna have to be willing to go somewhere and get help. If you need to drive her there then just do it. God sees the heart, but he sees action too.

Jesus can set us free. But we have to allow him to. As we grow in our walk with Christ the things of this world will fall away. We will desire his will more than our own. It is his victory on the cross that sets us free. He said " it is finished". That is where our victory lies. Love, God's love for us has set us free, and rectified us to himself. Thank you Heavenly Father for your mercy. Thank you Lord Jesus for loving us so much you have your life for us. And thank you Holy Spirit for leading us in the paths of Righteousness for his namesake Amen ✝️

A sin committed compulsively, or under coercion is quite different than a sin committed willfully, or celebratory. Only willful sin is mentioned as not being covered by the sacrifice of Christ. (Hebrews 10:26) Addiction I believe would fall under coercion, and not willful...unless the person in question is attempting to justifying their drug use as something that is holy, in which case we may have a serious spiritual issue going on. Hope this is helpful to anybody reading and as always may the Lord Jesus bless you and keep you to Him be the glory forever. Amen.

The fact that the woman was crying because she was still getting high but was still stuck on the street and couldnt get into detox and rehab right away is a good sign. Because she now cares and sees something wrong with it.

I think Frank was a bit harsh here. The guy had genuine real questions. Addiction is physical. Only by a miracle of God can instantaneous healing occur. Other people need medical help. Yes, there are people who prayed and were instantly healed. But I find that the exception. Can they be saved ? Of course. Do they need medical help. Absolutely. This is not an either or scenario.
@loucontino4804 Says:
So long as we are in the world, there is sin. We're still in the flesh and we drag this around with us, seeking Christ to keep us under the covert of His Wing protected from sinning. That means walking in His Holy Spirit. The difference is when you are walking in Christ, His HOLY Spirit convicts you time and time again to repent and you will come to hate that sin and through Christ's strength you will, alone or with the help of others, relinquish doing it. It takes growth in The Word, Prayer and Repentance but you will leave the chains that drugs, alcohol, lust, greed, envy, hatred put upon you. Everyone of those is a battle in the flesh and we fall periodically. But never ever doubt the efficacy of Jesus Christ's work at The Cross. No quick fix, living your life for God is a commitment that never ends until we leave this world to be with Christ.
@vinniebasile9404 Says:
Ultimately, if us Christians walked around telling everybody that they have to completely overcome their addictions in order to be saved, we would be preaching works-based salvation.

I hope they can be saved. Drugs can severely damage a person's mind and reasoning skills. This damage can lead to impaired cognitive functions, memory loss, and diminished decision-making abilities. Chronic drug use can cause structural changes in the brain, impacting regions responsible for reasoning and judgment. Overall, drugs can be devastating to a person's mental faculties, undermining their ability to think critically and logically. Pray pray pray for these people.
@kiwisaram9373 Says:
As with all things check with your doctors as some drugs are not illegal and are called medicines. If a doctor prescribes pain killers then that is enough and if God wants to take away that pain that is even better and praiseworthy.

@jordanpease3329 Says:
I have seen this idea of repentance so often since I was raised Mormon. Repentance is NOT necessarily stopping the sin. Repentance comes from the Hebrew and it means to change your mind. If you change your mind about sin then you will more than likely stop or reduce its activity. Chemical dependencies such as addictions function differently however. Your heart and hate the addiction and you can rage against it… But it can still have a complete stronghold on your brain chemistry.

Wow I would love to meet that man who asked these tough questions. I born again but struggle with porn addiction. And other sexual stuff. Well done to you son for asking those questions. I hope sincerely you are saved. God bless
@Bazakilouis Says:
So wrong ! The guy asked wonderful questions but got al the wrong answers. I love Frank and most of his teachings. But this truly false. You must become born again out of water and spirit. With the Holy Spirit you receive freedom to say no to sin. Of you keep willfully sinning you are a child of satan. 1 John 3 Acts 2.38 says repent from your sins, so turn away, have remorse of those sins. Regret it and then get baptized under water for forgiveness of those sins. Now you receive the Holy Spirit to lead a Holy life and do the things Jesus did. These are the requirements to enter the Kingdom of God This is the Gospel. And yes demons must be cast out as well. Many times people need deliverance. Especially drug addicts need deliverance. Even looking with lust is a sin. Stop doing sin. Read Matthew 7. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:22‭-‬23 KJV He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. 1 John 3:8‭-‬10 KJV For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, Hebrews 10:26 KJV So fear the Lord !! Anyone can get free. Maybe it will take some time. But you have to take steps. Lay down your own will. Some people grow fast some slow. But you must grow in holiness.

This is why people need to understand the biblical definition of repent. A lot of Christians shoehorn "of your sins" into the text when, according to the Bible, it cannot mean that. This causes people to lose assurance of their salvation, which 1 John 5:13 says we can *know* "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." Jonah 3:10 defines turning from your evil way as works: "And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not." Ephesians 2:8-10 tells us that salvation is not of works, and correctly places works where they SHOULD be, after salvation, building upon Christ's foundation. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." We must also remember the words of Paul in Romans 4:5, knowing that a man is not justified by works of righteousness which they have done. "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." And Romans 12 clarifies finally that our works, presenting our bodies a living sacirifce, is our reasonable service, not required, because salvation is not of works. "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." I pray that anyone reading these comments who has not fully understood the grace of God realizes that the Bible teaches that you may know you have eternal life, right now.

😂😂😂.... its funny you can only live in one nature, either you live as a slave to sin.... or you live as a slave to God. You cannot serve two master... Do you think if the Holy Spirit lives in you, He will let you be enslaved to something?.... dont be silly
@marcuslandhuis5533 Says:
Umm...How are we defining 'repent'? One cannot be truly repentant without turning from their sin. A society without this knowledge - without personal and societal deterrences from sin, such as the prospect of separation from God - will deteriorate perpetually.
@NickSandt Says:
So many get “the demons also believe and tremble” wrong. They think the passage refers to demons believing in the gospel but if you read the verse IN CONTEXT, the one right before it says “you believe there’s one God” so this belief of monotheism is not what gives anyone salvation so to use this verse to try and say someone needs to be saved through faith plus works is a false gospel.
@danielboone8256 Says:
This is a very complex issue that requires more thought and analysis. I'd love to see a book on this. There's a lot of people who are addicted to some behavior or drug who don't want to do it anymore but still do it. The question akrasia, whether willpower is finite or infinite, whether there's an element of compulsion in addiction, etc. are all important. What makes it especially relevant, though, are verses like 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.
@klauge763 Says:
And what about those with chronic illness that depend on these medicines for relief. Some feel so much guilt for needing opioids just to be able to function or sleep due to pain and their are people who say they are "christian" that claim only those very near death is allowed relief from pain.

We all battle sin. You are saved by grace of Jesus sacrifice. If you repented and say you don't want to do it anymore. You do everything to lean on God to help you get off the drugs. Dont try to kick it by your own power, ask God everyday to help you become clean. He will help you. Give him your heart and he will finish the work he has started in you. The key is to put God above all things.
@luawana8364 Says:
Salvation is based on whether you trust Christ's finished work on the cross. It is not our works but Christ'sRom 4:5 KJV But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Christ is faithful and my faith is resting on the fact that He came to die for sinners. Is the object of your faith Christ or are you relying on what you can do in the energy of your flesh. Trust the Gospel which is that Christ died on the cross according to the scriptures and that He was buried and rose again. He bore all of your sins on the cross and will give you His righteousness. What a marvelous exchange.
