Traditionally Hindus believed that the everything/universe/god/brahman fractures itself into small pieces of consciousness experiencing itself in a limited form. When the limited form dies, its energy returns to the greater Brahman to be fractured once again. Animals live a completely opportunistic life and have no moral standard, therefore they cannot progress spiritually and reach a higher form of existence. Reincarnation is not based on how reality actually functions either, in the Universe there is both order and chaos. But in reincarnation there is no order, it is pure chaos. Let me explain, if the point of karma is that you’ll reap what you’ve sown from this life into the next then we know that everyone who dies will reincarnate as a lesser intelligent being such as a cockroach or something along those lines. Reason being is because we have all committed sin and have all done wrong. If we are to assume karma exists and reincarnation exists along with something keeping track of our morality then there is a objective truth based on what is right and wrong. Since all of us have done wrong though then that means we ultimately all will have to pay for our wages of sin in the next life in order for their to be justice and for karma to be served to everyone. Now along with the concepts of reincarnation and karma there also is what’s called the chakras and enlightenment, or ascension. Meaning people can build up good karma to outweigh their bad karma and ascend in their consciousness to try to become a god or spiritually enlightened being, however if this is the case then there actually is no justice being served for the sins one has committed and it goes contrary to how reality actually functions considering there is order in creation while there is no actual order in these concepts of beliefs, the reason i say that is because a person’s good deeds can never actually outweigh their bad deeds just how it would be unjust to let a murderer who is being prosecuted get away with murder simply because the did many good deeds, there is no justice or order in that. There is no atonement for their sins and nothing to substitute their sins. Aside from this let’s go back to the actual process of reincarnation, even if we are to say a person dies and gets reincarnated it will be as a lesser being since all have sinned and done many bad deeds throughout their lives, since they will be reincarnating as a species of less intelligence and conscious awareness it will be impossible for them to actually build up any good karma at all, leading them to only go further and further down in the reincarnation cycle since they will be ruled by their natural instincts rather than having their own will and intelligence to build up good karma. This in turn shows that there is no order or justice but rather only chaos. Reincarnation promises the ability to ascend but it holds false promises that it does not fulfill to the believer since if they reincarnate as something like a cockroach it’s best they consider any hopes of ascending futile and impossible. It’s a cruel concept and would actually just go to show that whoever created “reincarnation”, “karma”, etc. is a evil god who doesn’t actually uphold justice or order for its own creation. This is what Hinduism and Buddhism teach along with other religions that teach reincarnation. It really is a twisted concept to believe in and a concept that is far from actual reality. If anyone believes a person reaps what they sow as The Bible talks about which is based on reality, i hope you know that such concept is not karma but rather what science calls the laws of cause and effect.

as a former atheist turned christian, i believe that reincarnation is very real but our understanding of how it works is way off. a loving god would want us to obey his commandments and punish us for not doing so. that said, forgiveness has to be given at some point so while the bible does say heaven and hell are eternal, at some point eternity has to end so the cycle would in essence, begin anew.
