Although I do not agree with all other teaching, ‘119 Ministries’ has a very good video on this subject and brings in all relevant passages and goes through each one, marking everything on a chart so you can see it.
I believe there is overwhelming biblical evidence that Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday and the reason people like in this video do not want to come to that conclusion is because, either they’ve never actually looked into it in detail and are just parroting what others have said or they want to stick with tradition over the scriptures.

It is my understanding that in Jewish/Israeli, both ancient and modern, if something occurred in any part of a day that day was included or counted as part of the time the occurrence took place. Therefore, JESUS was crucified, died and buried on what we call Friday, that's day one He was dead and buried, still dead and buried on Friday night, that's night one. Saturday day, dead and buried, day two. Still dead and buried at night, that is night two. Sunday day, still dead and buried, day 3. Hello, friends, just a quick note or two: 1) Contrary to very popular belief, the Bible does not reckon days from sunset to sunset; days are reckoned from dawn to dawn. Eek! I know, I know, friends. And, I'm aware of Gen. 1:5 and Lev. 23:32. Both of those verses disprove the sunset theory once you study them closely and let go of Jewish tradition.
2) Resurrection is different from ascension. Jesus was resurrected at the end of the Sabbath, but ascended to the right hand of the Father on the first day of the week.
This is definitely a difficult topic to study through, and I don't have all the answers. Probably never will, but we can keep bouncing ideas off of each other and maybe figure most of it out.

This is not a figure of speech but instead Jesus is very specific about himself as the Son of Man who died and is alive and seated at the right hand of God.

I find it disingenuous when you have to come up with crazy, far-fetched, and frankly, non-sensical justifications whenever you find a difficult passage. I'd rather you say "we don't know". He was very specific, several times about the 3 days.
I also think I might be missing some context here, or maybe misunderstood something, because I do not understand how the last supper being a passover meal can even be put to question. Luke 22, Jesus' own words: "I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer."
I did not understand about the "no bread" part either on John 13... He literally fulfilled prophecy with bread in that same chapter, during the supper.
I must be missing something.

Of course Christ died at passover, because the passover symbolised his blood being shed for us. The three days/nights is Hebrew reckoning, where day is counted even if it is part of a day, and it starts on day 1, not day 0. Thus Friday, Sabbath, Sunday is your 3 days and Sunday morning is the on the third day. Plus, the day begins in the evening, not in the morning, so any time after sunset Saturday the the resurrection could have occurred.
And it's impossible to claim that the passover began on whatever day in AD 30 (the year of the crucifixion) because it depends on the actual sighting of the moon, but if you look at the calculations it is plausible that the passover that year was on Friday.

What a bunch of Replacement Theology bull. It is obviously the Passover meal. In scripture God's calendar is lunar and the day starts in the evening not the morning. So Passover eve would be the day time before the evening which begins the day of Passover. Jesus was crucified on Passover and raised on first fruits.

At that time of year in history, Roman roads, pilgrimage and harvest, it would of been a busy cultural time of year full of events. It just adds up that it could have similarities like our Christmas season. I've had dinner's that happen on the 24th and then a second one on the 25th. The text says it would be six days before Passover. The question becomes what day did Yeshua arrive in Bethany. If we say it was Saturday to make the Friday crucifixion work, we're presupposing Yeshua traveled on Saturday or a Sabbath Day. He would NOT have done this! He would NOT have traveled from one place on a Sabbath Day to another place. That would have violated Leviticus 23:3 "Six days shall work be done, but on the 7th day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work. It is a Sabbath to your LORD in all your dwelling places."
So He had to arrive in Bethany on Friday. Let's count the six days 'til Passover from Friday. He arrived in Bethany on Friday and RESTED on Saturday.
FRIDAY - Six Days before High Holy Sabbath

MONDAY - three Days
TUESDAY - Two Days

But also, Yeshua specifically said He would be in the earth for three days and three nights. If He was crucified on Friday morning, there is a night problem. He ate Passover on Wednesday early evening. He was tried Wednesday night into the wee hours of Thursday morning. He was crucified Thursday morning - DAY ONE. Thursday Night - NIGHT ONE; Friday - DAY TWO Friday night - NIGHT TWO Saturday DAY THREE Saturday Night - Night three. He arose Sunday morning at that was also the day Jews were permitted to leave if they lived outside of Judea.

I believe it could easily have been a Wednesday, or any other day of the week. John makes a parenthetical statement in 19:31, (for that Sabbath was a high day). If it were simply the weekly sabbath there would have been no reason for the clarification, but since the Passover and other high days are treated as sabbaths, I believe he offers the statement so that future readers can make the distinction.

A day is from sunset to sunset.
Passover was Tuesday night to Wednesday night. The “last supper” was the Passover meal. He was killed on Passover day (Because Christ IS our Passover). He had to be placed in the tomb before the ANNUAL Sabbath called the first “Day of Unleavened Bread” which began that Wednesday Night, after he was buried. He was Resurrected at the end of the weekly Sabbath (Saturday). The two Mary’s found his empty tomb the following morning. (Sunday). Three Days and Three Nights is very specific.

but just to be clear (as is stated in other comments) it was the Passover meal. Matthew 26:17-20 specifically states it by Jesus Himself as does Luke 22:8, 11, 13, 15….. again by Jesus not his disciples…. To imply it’s not the Passover meal would imply Jesus is either lying or “meant something different”… however, a more accurate question would be…. Was the Passover meal they had actually ON the day of Passover….. Leviticus 23 may help us understand that a bit better.

Some things can just be over analyzed. Look to how the apostles gave the gospel. Very simple and matter of fact. Jesus Christ, the Son of God was born of a virgin, sent by the Father to bear the sins of the world on Himself, was crucified, died and rose again, that all who will repent and believe will be saved by grace through faith in Him.
Anyone can receive and understand that. I think the message gets lost in splitting hairs over the details.

Resurrected sometime between sunset Saturday and "just" after sunrise Sunday? Less than an hour? The Sabbath ended at Sunrise. So they headed to the tomb at sunrise.
How do you get even 3 partial days and 3 partial nights? Forget, 3 days and 3 nights like Jonah! If He was killed on Wednesday or even Thursday OK. Friday? I aint buyin it!

People may say “in a minute” as a figure of speech, but no one says “in three minutes” as a figure of speech. Also, how can one argue the Last Supper wasn’t a Passover Seder? Jesus says in Luke 22:15 “I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.” Jews are permitted to eat the Passover Seder on the day of preparation as Jesus did with His disciples. Christians should understand that the cup in the Eucharist is the 3rd cup of the Passover Seder which celebrates Jesus redemption of believers. As for secular Dave, it was most definitely intentional by God that Jesus die on the pass over. The Pharisees wanted to avoid killing Jesus and pass over because of the possible public ramifications.

yes - however scripture says people went to the tomb to lay herbs & perfume there & the stone was moved so the tomb was open - so it wasn't weeks or months later that he LORD God raised Jesus & also time is irrelevant to God/Jesus who is beyond time

It's a very weak argument when you have to say 3 days and 3 nights means "just a minute". It is more threatening to the credibility of the sign Christ presents if it is not 3 days. It is easy to show there were 2 Sabbaths on crucifixion week without muddling up Christ's words to cram 3 days into 1.5 days. Why make a stand on crucifixion Friday when it puts into question Yashua's words and you have to do some fancy foot work to cover it over. The Good Friday idea came from people who had no understanding of the Hebrew Passover calendar.

It hardly matters what day it was on. The celebration of the birth of Christ was moved by around 3 months and no one seems to care.
Would the bible have been more believable if the Last Supper happened AFTER Jesus rose from the Crucifixion? If there were Believers and Non-Believers in the room who saw him transform into a spirit and rise through the roof of the building to Ascend?
Or is it still just a poorly written fable, in an old book?
