You are talking about Americans who will die broke. As an immigrant who came to north america with 40.00$ i will never be broke. Quit school at 15 , my mothers Motto before i left, if you make a penny save a cent, thats all you need to know. My money will outlive me & i am proud of that. All my country immigrants have all done well. My daughters paid off their morgages in their 30ties, homes costing up to 1/2 a million $ i wont buy his book or others, if i wanted to read it i would go to the Lib. Talk is cheap, these people repeat the same thing each other is saying

This is hard to watch. The host spoke 50% of the time and did not let the guest speak without interruption. STOP INTERRUPTING! IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU!! 😂😂😂

Trying to keep up with Morgan Housel across hours of podcasts and essays can be overwhelming. I condensed his most impactful lessons into a short, few-minute clarity shot.
@iamirish22 Says:
When did the interview with Housel start? It was so much about Bilyeu talking about Bilyeu. Moreover, the constant use of the word "dude" by Bilyeu undermines his credibility.

Pure Utopia 😂😂😂 sorry no I doubt people would think of today as Utopia, especially after learning how antibiotics hurt our long term health.
@JaimeReinoso-r2f Says:
During the first 12 and a half minutes the guest misses one important thing. Inflation, because the value of our work has been devalued and in comparative terms our money is worth less than in the 1950s. Pennies would buy products then that now take multiple dollars to buy. It's not just that people are making more money...

The Gini Coefficient was estimated to be .35 in the 50s today it is approximately .48. Meaning the differential is much greater now.
@vicwiseman6038 Says:
A debt crisis is better described as an Inflation Crisis or a Government Printing Money Crisis. Yes, recessions aren’t unavoidable but they are made far worse when the government inflates bubbles.
@vicwiseman6038 Says:
I love this guy BUT I think he is wrong when it comes to the stock market NOT being severely overvalued and the unemployment numbers being accurate. Unemployment is much higher and a much bigger issue if it were reported accurately by the BLS. The data was and has been manipulated for the election year. It’s also manipulated to reduce panic and social unrest. But people know, because they feel and live it every day. Ask yourself this, do you know someone in your immediate circle that’s unemployed? I know multiple people and I live in a large metro area. I can’t imagine what it’s like in the smaller towns. Our economy is NOT well and it’s all caused by government spending, bank bailouts, ultra low rates, quantitative easing, and data manipulation. We are living in the everything bubble. At some point it will pop and it looks like 2025 is the year. The recession will be bigger than 08, and bigger than 1929. There is nothing that the government can do other than create more inflation and continue to lie about it. This only works for a time, sooner or later, the pitchforks come out. As far as the Covid stimulus money mostly benefiting the lower class this is wrong. Most of that money is gone and has trickled up to the top 10%. Just look at credit card delinquency, student loan delinquencies, car repos, etc. People are more in debt than they were at the beginning of 2020. Next, much of that stimulus flowed directly to businesses via PPE loans and other bailout programs. If this guy is this clueless about the economy I question his recommendation for dollar-cost-averaging into index funds. At some point Wall Street and Main Street will have to come to an agreement. I can’t tell you when it will happen, but when it does, either a lot of poor people will become poorer or a small number of rich people will become a whole lot poorer.

@chorpita Says:
There is no free will because the feeling of being a self is, in itself, a kind of illusion. This can be observed in various ways. Observe: Where do "my" thoughts come from? Do "I" create "my" thoughts? "My" words? Why do "I" believe what "I" say? What is this thing "I"? A certain amount of introspection will reveal the paradox, the illusion of control, the illusion of agency. At the same time, the human organism does have a highly sophisticated biological and sociological self-regulation. Much of this self-regulation is not witnessed in consciousness: At times, breathing. Digestion. Circulation. A small amount of this self-regulation is witnessed in consciousness. And there is an identification with this self-regulation that is often at the center of experience. Our entire culture and biology is predicated on this illusion, this identification with self-regulation. Most of the culturally-grounded conversation about this topic encourages the organism to participate in this illusion. If the organism makes an effort to "drop out" of this illusion, the organism will receive a lot of social pressure from other humans to maintain this illusion. So being a person is a sort of culturally, socially and biologically self-reinforcing illusion. Since it is a shared illusion, it becomes a kind of reality. Any initially negotiated, then later agreed upon story can become a reality when it is deeply accepted as reality. Language is the vehicle for transmitting these stories that turn into realities.

A conversation with Morgan Housel illuminates a simple yet powerful way of thinking about finances: know yourself, control your desires, and take advantage of compound interest. It's not just about creating wealth, but also about self-reliance and overcoming societal pressures to reach the light at the end of the financial tunnel.
@Famlistentomeyeah Says:
I am not going to watch the rest of this video anymore. Such a shame. You can tell Morgan Housel is a zionist because he had to mention that quote about Hamas killing a girl (knowing full well, the real terrorists are IDF) and then he says muslim terrorist hijacking the plane (he doesn't use the words terrorist on it's own to describe them but uses the words muslim instead) knowing full well the real terrorist was Bush that killed his own people at 9/11.

Once you live on a fixed income, no matter how much that is; IF A) You are living under your ability to pay (within your standards) B) You have enough dry and shelf stable foods and supplies for living for one year for every member of your household. (It does not take up that much room).   C) You have enough of a library, writing supplies, art supplies and offline interests that cost nothing to entertain yourself, stay in shape and continue to learn D) Ask yourself constantly, “How can I do this or have that for free?”  Learn to ask GREAT questions. The better your questions, the better the answers! E) Find a way to serve others. I guarantee you will be SURPRISED at how you can enjoy a great quality of life in any economy for much less, have more freedom, have more free time and more satisfaction than you ever thought possible.   Caveat: It might take cancelling some subscriptions, memberships, closing excess accounts and simplifying daily life, which may have the unintended consequence of reducing stress, and improving health for which you will have more time to pay attention than you had before!! Ask me how I know!!
@PSILUVU2 Says:
Having survived my Husband of 26 years, I can guarantee you that, if there is love, the greatest gift would be to die (for example instantly in a plane crash or something similar) together. No suffering or mutual suffering. But we are here for a reason or unfinished business. If I didn’t have some higher reason, of which I am not currently aware, but which will be obvious in hindsight, I believe I would not be here right now. That is my perspective considering the trauma of such a loss.

Who wants to die rich? You can’t take your money to the grave. Did with zero and use your money to give you the best quality of life. If you don’t use all the money you worked hard for then you worked hard for nothing. Money has no value in and of itself, only when it is used.

Tom, regarding weight loss, you are missing one key factor: taking enjoyment/fulfilment from achieving goals. Done it once, can do it again. No point in reproving what already know I can accomplish. Dopamine plummets. Sooner rather than later you are overweight again without no reward whip anymore.
@mikaellavoie6811 Says:
He explained clearly the root of the problem when he said : "You don't just want to be rich, you want to be richer then the neightbor". It simplify to one term : Greed. You have a great point though i never thought about the part that the world run on Envy. But i'm still firm on my point that if your main goal is to be rich, you're dead wrong and are part of the problem. Exactly the attitude that lead to the destruction of our species as a whole. At this point your brain is probably rotten beyond repair.
