Explaining why the Multiverse Theory fails

????

You know it's a poor argument when an agnostic such as Paul Davies understands that the Multiverse Theory is a dodge to avoid the obvious evidence that the universe had a Beginner. The atheist cannot avoid that the universe had a beginning. There are several other problems with the Multiverse Theory, which Frank explains here. Check it out so you can easily explain why the Multiverse Theory fails! anything with properties needs an agent to limit the range of possible properties. A multiverse still has to have properties to do anything, so it has to have an agent even if it were eternal an agent would have to set its properties. the multverse doesn't solve any of the athiests problems.
@ShawnSwander Says:
If there were infinite universes we would NOT be in one like this. There are a finite number of understandable numbers and an infinite number of unfathomable numbers. So in a random universe there would be no agent to set limits on what could exist. So we couldn't get a universe with properties like 4 forces, 4 is a number we understand so it essentially can't be chosen randomly because the odds of picking a number we can even write are 0, let alone a number we can understand, let alone 4. It's impossible to express how impossible true randomness is. The odds of that are mathematically best expressed as 0 and that's just for one property. The anthropic principle doesn't save the problem. There are still an infinite number of universes we could exist in and observe that we just can't understand anything about this is the closest approximation to what we would expect.

Paul Davies is NOT agnostic, he believes in God in someway.

Please do not listen to someone talk about physics and quantum mechanics who has absolutely no clue what they're talking about. What Turek is talking about here is not even the actual multiverse theory. It's the layman's misunderstood "many universes" idea. If you are interested in the Multiverse theory, look up David Deutsch. It is not a hypothesis, it is a well supported scientific theory. If you are not convinced after that, fine, but please don't let this unqualified guy try to tell you how the universe works.

Definition of universe according to Nasa, Oxford and Cambridge's dictionaries etc....:Everything that exists, all space, time and matter If this is the definition of multiverse then no matter what other people bring as "multiverse" it would still fall under the definition of universe which is what we mean with universe rather than just 10k span light years etc... Jude 1:25 God was there before all time John 1:1-3 In the Beginning(time) God created the Heavens(space) and the earth(matter) trough the eternal Logos known as Jesus Honestly, to argue that there are other "universes" would mean that we have to use another meaning of universe, the meaning of universe is all things, space, time and matter

For those who pay attention to detail, I think the question of God’s existence has been answered conclusively by Dr. Stephen Meyer in his book, Return of the God Hypothesis. In Chapter 16, he points out that an inflationary-string multiverse (the only kind that skeptics can posit to seemingly account for the fine-tuning of our universe) – this multiverse itself must be extremely fine-tuned in order to exist! Therefore, whether it’s to account for the fine-tuning of our universe (Meyer, Chapters 7, 8, & 13) OR to account for the fine-tuning of a feasible multiverse (that could hypothetically account for the fine-tuning of our universe), an intelligent Fine-Tuner or Designer of at least one universe, and possibly of a multiverse, must exist! (Meyer, Chapter 16) In essence, a Creator God must exist; there are no realistic alternatives, as long as we precisely follow the details of this evidence. The only way to avoid this conclusion is to NOT follow the evidence where it leads, in terms of its details. This is one of several reasons why I, a former atheist, am now a believer in the Christian God, which makes the most sense considering all forms of evidence.

While I don't think Frank Turek is a very good theologian he's like Mike Tyson in his prime when it comes to pointing out how illogical atheism is. I've noticed this a lot even in politics. Often conservatives are great at pointing out how illogical democrats are but when it comes to themselves they can't see their own flaws in logic when they're pointed out. Just kinda goes in one ear and out the other. This is why I think it's best to never be part of groups that's membership relies on toting the party line which seems to be all of them. Which begs the question: Do people in general prefer to be a part of an in-group than know and speak facts indiscriminate of ingroup vs outgroup preference? Almost always yes. So I can see why some people fall for the lie that freewill doesn't exist and that we are all just products of our environment. Most people no matter how smart they are will conform to false facts that are beyond absurd just to fit in and maintain the peace with their fellows no matter which group they belong to. Very few people refuse to settle for a lesser of evils when it comes to groupthink. All criticisms aside, I must say this is an absolutely epic video. Not a lot of people in the world can pack this much of a punch in just 3 minutes.

Well even preachers ARE flawed and have been PROVEN since the dawn of Christianity to have made FAILED predictions and MISinterpretatations of Scripture like the Zionist preacher Hagee. BEFORE they disprove the claims of a parallel universe as wrong, perhaps they should take a GOOD LOOK AT THEIR OWN TRACK RECORD in the mirror considering the MULTITUDES of mistakes AND failed predictions they made. These preachers have read it but haven't understood and as many preachers in the past UP to the present who have made FAILED predictions and MISTAKES so can these preachers on this video too. What IF they're wrong and what IF the existence of parallel universe exists and is PART OF THE INVISIBLE THINGS GOD has created in Christ spoken on Colossians 1? Unbiblical? Think again. Pastors and preachers are humans and as humans they're FLAWED even in their understanding of Scripture. In the end, like many of their predecessors before them what IF they're wrong, AS the pharisees, the religious leaders in the time of Christ were WRONG about Jesus and parallel universes EXISTS? Would they swallow their pride OR would they not?

Why do they think there’s other universes what made them believe that there could be other universes is that the same thing as there could be a spaghetti monster what evidence do they have and they’ll gonna say well Christian do the same thing, but God We see a fine tune universe, and think a God did it because That’s the only logical conclusion you can have for a universe appear from nowhere

I'm currently writing a book on the topic of the existence of God, could someone help me find the original source for the statement by Paul Davies 'The multiverse is dodge'? @Demonoicgamer666 Says:
The multiverse theory is pretty complex, in a multiverse there are multiple versions of you, if you ran a marathon there is another version of you that didn’t, there’s even a universe where your parents never met. Yes the multiverse theory says there are universes that never evolved to support life but there are also universes that are better equipped for life.
@ALLeiahTv Says:
Of course design is an obvious feature of organisms. The reason why Darwin is considered the first modern biologist is because he actually discovered the mechanism by which nature produces design. However, design in organisms is not ootimal nor is it intelligent. Why do we still have a small tailbone consisting of 4-6 vertebrae? Why are some children born with tails each year? Why is the phaynx designed in such a manner that improper epiglottis closer produces choking and potential death? Why do human embryos have pharygeal gill slits at an early embryonic stage? Why do whales have a vestigial pelvis? Why do kiwis have useless wings? The left recurrent laryngeal nerve is also impossible to explain unless one invokes evolution. Perfect design is what we would expect from an all knowing Creator not imperfect design that seems cobbled together. Life on this planet evolved largely by natural selection- it clearly was NOT designed by any intelligence otherwise we would not be suffering hemorrhoids. Also, what's so perfect about tenrecs? Mammals with a cloaca! What was God thinking? C'mon...
@leekuanyih7182 Says:
I wish apologists would stop saying that the multiverse hypothesis was invented to attempt to explain away the appearance of design in our universe, and no one would take this hypothesis seriously otherwise. That's simply not true. The multiverse hypothesis was actually borne out of Alan Guth's inflationary models. Guth's models were created to attempt to explain why some properties of our universe are the way it is. And not long after that, cosmologists realize that the inflation process could very well have produced more than one universe.

You left out the most obvious problem with this theory: it is not falsifiable. As such, it does not even meet the most basic level to qualify as a scientific theory. End of discussion!

God only created our universe. The other mutiverses are each created by their own versions of the same god. God who create our universe does not know they exist and doesn't know how to reach them. We will never be able to proof or see the other mutiverses because they are being held in a stomach of a gaint. We are seal in our own universe.

It seems god has arranged everything to evolve through the fibonacci sequence.. I bet fusion in stars, development life, gravity, the expansion of the universe itself uses these sequence of numbers to evolve because it has been designed that way
@HansBezemer Says:
As a matter of fact, the multiverse theory is HELPING Christians. Because what's the premise? The premise is that if several constants were different, this universe were not suitable for human life (from a Christian point of view - that is what it boils down to). However, we don't even now if these constants are variable - because they're constants, that's in the definition. Hence, that they CAN be different is pure speculation. If there are multiple universes where these constants vary, then there is proof for this "variable constants" hypothesis. If there are NOT, then the existence of this variability does not exist, which makes these constants immutable. There is only ONE SINGLE SET of them - and they CAN'T be any different. Hence, since they can't be different, there is no design.

i see.

@polaroidsky Says:
I’m a Christian but I don’t think the multiverse theory was clearly explained in this video, which is important for rebuttal. The theory claims the following: While infinity can never be fully observed, we know that apparent infinity exists. The expanse beyond the visible universe is an example of this. What shall we say lies beyond it? Nothing? How can there be nothing if nothing isn’t something? How can non-existence exist? Therefore, there must be something beyond it, or else there is no “beyond.” This, in layman terms, is why some believe that infinite universes exist. If there are infinite universes, there is infinite time and chance for anything to happen. Theoretically, anything that can happen, must happen somewhere. To one who believes this theory, we are living in one of those freak chance environments where life is not only possible, but must happen. There are issues with this theory, however: 1. While infinity makes sense in theory, it is impossible to observe and thus cannot be confirmed. We haven’t the time necessary to count every galaxy in the observable universe, much less infinite galaxies. So long as the number of visible and invisible universes remain uncounted, there too remains the possibility that there are a finite number of universes. If this is true, the theory falls flat on its face. 2. It is curious that infinity is so widely accepted by agnostics and atheists who accuse Christians for not trusting science, when we have yet to preform an experiment which yields an infinite result. Indeed, it appears impossible for such data would have to be quantified for eternity, which is to say it never will be. 3. Even if infinity exists, this does not mean that infinite universes or worlds exist. It could mean that gravity is all that lies beyond the observable universe, expanding out to infinity. Or it could mean that Christians are right and God eternal lies in the beyond. To me, this is the most plausible. 4. The multiverse theory contradicts itself when it states that “anything which can happen must happen.” For by the same token, anything that cannot happen must not happen. There is a possibility—dare I even say a probability—that there isn’t another universe or world like ours. Therefore, according to this logic, there mustn’t be another universe or world like ours. 5. Chance is determined by dividing the total number of successes by the total number of attempts. Of all the planets in the universe which we have observed, only ours appears suitable for life. Assuming that this is true, the chance for another world like ours to exist in among infinite universes is 1/∞, which is an unsolvable equation. Therefore we cannot mathematically or scientifically prove this theory to be possible. In fact, even suggesting it is so would be incongruent with current science. At best, we can say with confidence that it is extremely unlikely. I know that the speaker addresses some of the topics I discussed but I wanted to share my thoughts as I too find this theory intriguing for science fiction, but wanted to warn people against adopting it as their fundamental worldview.

@bobs4429 Says:
No. Wrong. The postulation of multiple universes (the "multiverse") is NOT speculation. It's not even a theory. It's a PREDICTION. It is predicted by many verified and accepted mechanisms in physics, from quantum mechanics, inflation to string theory. It is NOT something evil scientists cooked up so that they can deny God. Not even close. This prediction has caused them some consternation because multiple universes have proven to be difficult to observe. That's not to say that they won't some day, but it is a thorny problem. Another fallacy in Mr Turek's analysis is the issue of an absolute beginning. Yes, the BGV paper does prove a beginning, but the authors are quick to point out that there are many ways to view this beginning, NONE of these view the universe as having a beginning ex nilo, as the Christian God is reported to have effected. The beginning could have sprung from something else. And as for Dr. Davies, his point is that the universe appears to have a purpose, which is why he is an agnostic. He does NOT maintain that there is necessarily some being that created the universe with this purpose. The point of the universe could indeed be something we can't begin to comprehend. Mr Turek is extrapolating and misinterpreting elements of physics and physicists in order to fit with his world view.
