You started the conversation out by saying Americans have a spending problem but then pointed out that Gen z doesn’t have any motivation to make money. I’m a Gen x and I believe all of the above are true. However, if you down size your home and only buy the things you need to survive, it’s a much better way of life due to lower stress and enjoying things like the outdoors. Tiny homes and van life looks appealing to me. It’s a way to say no to capitalism and yes to inner peace and health. The boomers are doing just fine with this type of life style. There’s also solar and other alternatives for energy. Some are home steading. I believe in choice and if that’s what they want I say go for it. Things like Instacart allows freedom. If the both of you are content with your way of life that’s great. I’m very happy for you. I’m a nurse but I was a victim of domestic violence right before that and received my tuition for free from vesid . So sometimes being poor for a bit works out very nicely.

Coming out of facing alot, I knew two things about the stock market: It caused the Great Depression, and the fastest way to make a million on the markets was to start with two million. And then the Great Recession happened only a few years later. So yeah, I wish someone had better explained it to me earlier in life. Having a good entry and exit strategy will make you succeed in the stock market.

hmmm,thinking about the the math about taking a bus 4h per day for one person to go to school every day and not think about the billions from taxes from the rich, thats a lot of ridicilousness over here.
@stathiskanios Says:
a bit of mental gymnastics on the part where taxing the rich wont change things. definetly the us has a spending issue, but people being billionaires and trilionaires na paying peanuts in tax in comparison to the percentage that actual people in povery pay is suspicious at least
@notbob8252 Says:
That's a crazy crazy bad argument it's a crazy argument no one's even making that argument on the other side. The real question is how many large companies are paying nothing in taxes And when someone owns such a large portion of the country's wealth what would a fair amount to pay their own way be? How many companies pay nothing in taxes first Second to maintain a stable society what is the bare minimum someone should be forced to pay into the system in order to maintain especially since they have such a large stake in maintaining its stability?

The argument is not if Israeli should exist or not. This is the huge international media driven miss understanding. This argument only exists for those that are personally invested in Israel for personal reasons. The actual argument/ question for most of America has nothing to do with Israel being a state. The argument is are you automatically part of Hamas simply by being born Palestinian? Number 2, Do Palestinians deserve human rights like every other human group on earth? Period. But this argument does not benefit those seeking to obtain control over the gas and natural resources found right off the coast of the conflict region. Most Americans have absolutely taken no issue With this an Israeli state and have absolutely zero issues with Jewish people. Our youth is the least racist and biased in American history. They’re too self-absorbed to care about race. Bigotry is driven by group thought. . Americans are culturally self focused until its a humanity crisis. Most Americans would not invest critical time or emotions on a religious fight over land that will never benefit them directly Americans don’t even care about their own freedom

Baby boomers are retiring or on the verge to, so how do we deal with such recession-influenced market conditions? Typically my $320k worth of holdings go up 8% then lose 20% right after and the cycle continues, I’m confused and truly sick of the system

But, if this administration is corrupt and in line with China and really bought into the global game as it looks like they are trying to destroy the economy, why not believe they want to destroy the economy and make sure to not turn on the printer to fix the economy but destroy it. So they will not be turning on the printer, why do you think they put a deliberate in office to take the blame? It’s going down this year!

Bitcoin Cash is up about 300% in one year, so over twice the gains as BTC over the same period 🤔 BCH has the same 21M max supply, the same Genesis block, the same miners and halvings BCH is still only $460 for one coin, affordable for most people and some hope that a small investment could do well over time, especially if it's long term trajectory might be to follow BTC "It might make sense just to get some in case it catches on" 🌱 Maybe look into BCH, see if it's for you, buy some and then spread the word, even use it as P2P Electronic Cash 🤔

Best conference ever. This is the ultimate way to see life.
@zd4w9 Says:
This talk has some interesting points, but there is no way the average person can do anything useful with this information. If you don't like something, just leave? How many people can do that without serious repercussions? Why do people hate on Amazon? Really?? No doubt Bezos built something everyone wanted and has been richly rewarded, but now they are into things that don't benefit sellers, customers, or society at large. These two seem really out of touch and their success has blinded them. They'll only see it when there is a situation where money is worth nothing.

Gig workers make up a significant portion of the employment pool in the United States. As many as 64 million Americans are freelancers or gig workers, according to a 2023 Upwork report. This represents 38% of the U.S. workforce. Full-Time Work Is Being Replaced By Part-Time Jobs As Americans And Businesses Struggle. Since June 2023, Americans have been increasingly employed in part-time positions, with a subsequent decline in full-time work, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics US Inflation Rate is at 3.48% According to Shadow Stats based on the methodology which was employed prior to 1980, current inflation is at 12% The fed funds rate began the decade at a target level of 14 % in January 1980. By the time officials concluded a conference call on Dec. 5, 1980, they hiked the rate to 19-20%. its highest ever. Consumer borrowing costs soared as a result. We cannot raise the rate like 1980s to 20% to combat the persistent inflation The debt obligation is too high for USA government and USA citizens

That is not a good explanation on inflation. There is inflation and deflation. If inflation is positive it builds on what the prices are currently. Lower inflation doesn’t mean prices are coming down. That would be deflation. Codie should know better
@jtt1928 Says:
She’s telling young ppl to pull themselves up by your bootstraps but that doesn’t work in today’s America! Big capital has decided that in this new America only the bottom line matters….& as a result you will be left behind unless you inherit wealth from family or become a 5% earner which is nearing impossible. Everything is more expensive and they have priced us out! The function of bringing in immigrants is our government’s solution to bring in cheap labor vs. cutting us more from their corporate profits!
@BlissGroove Says:
Change the tax laws do companies are not classified as individuals and tax companies accordingly..oh wait. Lawmakers have companies and companies lobby lawmakers. 90% middle income.back in the 60s. Now only 9% of the population are middle income. The middle income earners carry the burden of $$$$$

Amazon's got issues. It employs a LOT of people, which is good, but the way it treats many of them ranges from disturbing to shocking. It makes an astounding array of products cheap and widely available, which is good, but it has a serious problem with fake, imitation and scam products. It lowered the bar on self publishing which got a lot of new ideas out there, which is great, but it has participated in censorship. Amazon needs to tidy it's room.

@kevinmichael4907 Says:
You need taxes on the wealthy, but legitimate deductions and incentives that benefit the greater good. Such as deductions for moving jobs back to the USA where it’s cheaper with the deductions to hire Americans than someone in a foreign country.
@whdndrn Says:
She is too ignorant. It took 30 years to get to this debt. It will take 30 years to fix it. Raise tax on rich and cut military and other spending. Pass balance budget rule. Eliminate massive bills with pork.
@whdndrn Says:
They will use QE QT and rates to avoid massive inflation or recession. They are NOT out of bullets. Not by a long shot. No one knows when bullets no longer work. Till hyper inflation which will bring on civil war or massive crash and worldwide default domino effect and massive unemployment and starvation and civil war.

@BigCityUnk Says:
You gotta didn't break down issues far enough. Re Shapiro, the question is do people have a right to life. Regarding immigration, the problem is a failing welfare state. Plus, welfare goes to immigrants, but they spend every penny (subsistence living). It's an indirect transfer to the rich. Also, failed policies (drug war, fast & furious, Middle East wars, tariffs, support for bad state actors)...
