What you should be asking is…..When AI “fixes” everything, what are the people in power going to do when money is irrelevant and they have to give up that power? The answer is, they aren’t, they’re going to try to destroy each other and take all of us with them. I do not see a world where AI produces abundance before humans use AI to destroy each other. I strongly disagree with this man's rather naive view of the dangers of AI, for this simple reason. How does he know if mankind even has 5 years left?? I have outlined just three catastrophic events that could easily wipe out most human beings in an instant, starting NOW:
1) A nuclear war with Russia.
2) Catastrophic, irreverseable weather change due to global warming.
3) A man made or natural Electro Magnetic Pulse, immediately destroying the entire electrical grid of the United States.
The lessons of history are both unavoidable and clear. Every time mankind has invented new technologies, the very first thing we so with it is to wage war more effectively, killing more people with drastically increased efficiency. From the invention of gunpowder by the ancient Chinese, to the atomic bomb that effectively ended World War Two, self destruction and winning conflicts has always been the goal, and simply by witnessing the warmongering activities of our current administration bears even more proof of this suicidal path. But that's just "the good news." Even if none of these things occur, the massive and permanent job layoffs created by robotics and AI will certainly create the basis for financial disruption on a global scale, creating record violence and social unrest on a scale unheard in American history.

The problem with the advancement and moving into a more digital age is that it negatively impacts emotional development and cognitive function. We're seeing this in children who receive excessive screentime. We saw this with the military when they tested out missile drones being used with a controller. It felt more like a video game and not like they were killing real people. Which was confirmed with brain scans. Our ability to empathize and sympathize is what motivates us to help our fellow people. If that disappears then as a collective interdependent species we will eventually die out.

Singularity is: a point or region of "infinite" mass density at which space and time are infinitely distorted by gravitational forces.
The "infinite" part might spark some valid debate, but the point being that the event horizon is the part that you can't see beyond due to light itself not being able to escape the gravitational attraction of the singularity itself.

It's easy for people who have hundreds of millions of dollars to talk about being optimistic for a future that eliminates 90% of everybody else's existence from the planet. If you truly care about Humanity then there should be a plan put in place right now to preserve the dignity and sovereignty of individual humans. Just because you can does not mean that you should, in other words just because we can replace humans for the sake of oligarch profit margins doesn't mean that we should. It should be mandated that if you make a certain amount of Revenue that you have to employ a certain amount of humans regardless if they stand there and pick their nose all day or not.
