How often are you sitting with yourself to observe the emotions you experience when you're feeling triggered? Are you creating enough distance in time to allow yourself the space to analyze your reaction to the trigger? Robert Greene is an author and psychologist that is well known and respected for his best-selling books on strategies, power, and seduction. This episode is your go to for all things Robert Greene as he delves into everything from what to do with your dark side and how to leverage that dark energy to the power of self reflection and the nature of language and non verbal languages. Robert discusses with Tom the practical ways to source motivation for real change, and how to live with the joy and bliss of being intune with self and your own nature. It's like a landscape out in the world that you see, [...] You create that landscape yourself, you create the brain that you have, by the degree of how you're open to experience…' [21:46] 'My worry is that people are so immersed in their smartphones and their technology that they don't understand people...' [27:15] 'Question yourself. Stop assuming that everything you do is so brilliant and smart, and so right.' [34:21] 'As people talk, and they use words to conceal what they're thinking, their bodies reveal what they're actually thinking behind the words…' [41:34] 'Usually the people who think power is a dirty word are the people who are the most manipulative and passive aggressive.' [1:14:54] 'I'm trying to tell people that dark side contains incredible creative energy, incredible motivating power [...] when you get up in the morning, and use it, don't be afraid of it.' [1:36:27] 'We're so embedded in language that we think everything in terms of what people say, but unconsciously without even realizing it. We're continually judging people on their nonverbal behavior.' [1:39:16] 'Social media, for all the good that it does makes it very hard to be self reflective.' [1:57:40] 'If you can't, you know, take Brett breaks from social media, from your Instagram account, from Facebook, from Twitter, then you're a prisoner of it.' [2:17:29] 'What seems to be anarchic and ugly and awful in the moment does end up serving a higher purpose, because we need dynamism in our culture, we need change.' The "logic" of Mr. Greene's critics is this: "because some people beat other people up, there should be no Kung-fu books. "
@clubprojects6923 Says:
People who criticize "power" should experience having none. Being broke, sick, homeless. Truly power-less.

"If we saw completely into ourselves we would hate ourselves so much." Umm, no, that must just be you, breh. I actually can say with a clear conscience, I don't hate myself. There's things I wish I did differently but I can't imagine why you would say that. You must have done some bad things or not done or withheld some good things that you need to learn from and change.

One of the things i pide myself on, to a dagree, is my ability to introspect. Because i want ABSOLUTE power over myself, and this fella is nuts. I have never wanted to yeet myself because of who i am. No delusion isnt a requirement for humans to function.

I wish the title to this interview was different because it doesn't sum up the gold of the wisdom discussed here enough.

@lauriedavies6183 Says:
Why is someone pretending they're something they're not a bad thing? Was that a sincere question? Because fakeness is dangerous. Fakeness is untrustworthy. Fakeness is hypocritical, unaccountable, irresponsible, delusional, and many times over two-faced. Predators fake being "nice" people. Think Ted Bundy working the "S" hotline to save lives one minute, and out taking the lives of young women the next. What an absurd question! "Why is someone pretending to be sonething they're not bad?" Have a seance and ask the cult members that followed Jim Jones into drinking the Kool-Aid! Fake people are deceivers. This is why "fake it till you make it" is a trash idea. It's demand to not onky decieve others, but to try and decieve oneself. Be authentic! Authenticity is the domain of true self-esteem and self-confidence. Fakeness is insecurity that's home terrain is in narcissism.

Our brains were not developed 200,000 years ago. They were created approximately 7000 years ago when God created Adam and Eve. Evolution is impossible . This guy is nuts.

So True🔥 relationship skills people can't see they're marrying the wrong person, hiring the wrong business parther-employee,going on trips with the wrong people. For example, I was watching Cruise ship murders. People let their guard down having fun, and assume that this person is safe. Unfortunately, not even close, the devil in disguise

Wow. I love listening to these gentlemen talk. I can only imagine how frustrating it is to lose some of your basic physical functions like your hands. Heck, I've had to slow down my cardio at the gym because if I don't, I get a tachicardia attack, where my heart goes from 130 bpm to 176 all at once, and just that is frustrating. I'm 48 now, so I have stress from my physical job and not getting enough sleep. So I can't do intense cardio like I like.
