In general I understand avoiding sugar, processed foods, and canola oil. However, I'm struggling to decide if eating grass-fed red meats vs fish is good or not due to different perspectives from health experts. I'm testing an animal-based diet with low carb/fruit similar to Paul Saladino who is against fish and cruciferous veggies like kale and spinach. I'm also worried about saturated fats with a diet higher in animal fats and tallow/butter.

I rarely eat bread or pasta, except as a treat. I might eat potates once a weak, instead I eat alot of leafy greens everyday. I have cut out unhealthy fats, and consume mostly extra virgin olive oil, butter, and lard -- occasionly I'll buy avacado oil if the price is right. I eat eggs frequently, and a moderate amount of meat (4-6 ounces) everyday, mostly fish (salmon, sardines, and mussels). No condiments or processed food. I eat very little fruit. I never eat breakfast, just lunch and dinner -- sometimes no lunch. It took a few months to get used this, but after the first year I lost about 20 lbs and have maintained a weight of approximately 160 Ibs since then (over 3 years) and a BFP of 20 %. I'm 62 and take no medications. I almost forgot, I gave up table sugar -- I rarely cheat. I have developed a taste for good health rather than sweet food. I

Something about milk I don't hear talked about much. My wife and my brother are both lactose intolerant, but when we buy from our local farm non pasteurized and non homogenized milk, it doesn't affect them.
