On Today's Episode: You're likely under pressure with the rest of the world, making decisions under intense unprecedented levels of stress. The good news is that you're not alone. Right now, even if you're not watching the news or following every political conversation, you know the tension is there. With everyone, including you walking on eggshells, how do you make good decisions? Chances are you don't think of your decisions in terms of being ethical or not, but in the grand scheme of life as a citizen of planet Earth, every decision you made so far today has been ethical or unethical. Dr. Susan Liautaud is an Ethics Expert who advises global leaders and international businesses how to develop strategic solutions to the complex ethical challenges they face. In this conversation she and Tom get deep into the weeds of what an ethical framework is, if 'Cancel Culture' and the massive division we're experiencing is ethical, and how you can live your life well and make better ethical decisions. A few key thoughts from Dr. Liautaud to help you live a more ethical life: Instead of canceling people, cancel language and behavior Someone or something is going to be impacted by every decision you make Practice really listening to what people are saying to you We can't create a perfect life. Dr. Liautaud explains why perfectionism is a dead end path. The 4 Pillars of Ethics she shares are worth practicing immediately. Why does she believe that Victor Orbon is an authoritarian dictator . And then she states it as if it's a fact .hmmmmm !
@Thefirstsiri Says:
Tom, I love your show. I’m happy to see that you have a woman on here. 90% of this show is typically men.
@beabea892 Says:
Thought you’d both like to know there are over 5000 schools across 160 countries and quickly growing that highly promote diversity of thinking, perspective-taking and critical thinking. This is supported from as young as 4. The focus is not a brush-over job. Students are taught these skills explicitly and are woven into all subjects with the understanding that the students of today will not be able to solve the problems of tomorrow without pooling opinions/perspectives. International Baccalaureate schools are quickly becoming a model of education of the future.
@antonburren336 Says:
Since vaccines do more harm than good and are driven by profit motives rather than science, the answer to the question of bribery that came from this ethics "expert" is terribly disappointing.
@tiffanytapia Says:
I absolutely adore your interviews and your mind in general. That said, I’ve noticed you often interrupt and talk over people. Please let them finish their thoughts. Well wishes to you and yours.
@nikitadavid143 Says:
Never trust anyone whos defense is " we are following the science" these are the same imbeciles cancelling us if we tell them that men cant get pregnant. Yay science.
@CuchBe Says:
you are doing very good work, buddy. ❤

I liked the other set up wayyyy better more chill and personal

Based on this interview, Susan liataud has no insight into her own echo chamber. She got her toes right up to the edge of ideological diversity but at the crucial moment she turned her heart away. She couldn’t do it. You can’t go around the actual issues by pretending “science” is an apolitical process. Or by avoiding election fairness benchmarks. One principle to take away is that your opponent will see your bias that you are blind to, immediately.
@skihillsandy Says:
It's in the eye of the beholder, this woman is bias. Everything she says is instantly discounted because the 1/6 was not an insurrection, because if it was it was the lamest in history. Do not give her credit.
@fastmovingwater Says:
What about the riots?
@TheOriginalNiceGuy Says:
This woman is a left wing hypocrite who suppressed free speech

The title is absolutely misleading, "Stanford Professor REVEALS The Most Important Skill For SUCCESS"?, really?, I got clickbaited again in this channel, I'm glad I unsubscribed a long time ago. I gave the interview a chance for 1 hour and 20 minutes because I'm interested in ethics, but I couldn't bring (force) myself to finish the last 16 minutes. So much bias for an ethics conversation, and maybe she misheard but did she say she doesn't know who is Thomas Sowell?... of course she doesn't. I want to believe Tom has good intentions but he approved that video title.

This women talks a lot about “the science “ and acceptance of the science. I believe as dynamic beings we are more than the science. Having diversity in thoughts and being different leads to new development of information.

Did your guest know you were going to be so combative on your platform? Take a lesson in listening rather than over sharing your POV. Also another lesson in kindness.

This about covid is such a bullshit

COVID show us how the government lie, and it’s never wrong???
@dashingduff2985 Says:
OK this got me thinking on a certain subject.... talking about age, its not ok for someone to change there age and went to court because they feel younger, but it's ok for a man to say he identifies with being a woman or vise versa..... facts are facts at the end of the day 🤔 intresting someone can't identify with being younger
@TM-tw1py Says:
While I love Tom’s work, I don’t care for this social justice warrior.
@paulrichardson2942 Says:
How can you even have this conversation without mentioning the elephant in the room. An ethic that is not built on the existence of a higher power is always going to be a straw man.
@johnarmstrong2632 Says:
Careful Tom! Per MD PhD friend, saying that mass shooting does happen in the hood when thousands are dying every year can mean that research dollars won't be devoted to the problems. Be careful how you define mass shooting. No research in the hood can be a slick form of benign neglect if not out right racism. War on drugs...no prob... until thousands of white people mushroomed into the opioid crisis. Millions of non-white incarcerations and tens of thousands of non+white deaths later, we NOW need to consider drug addiction a medical problem. Definitions are critically important!

She's working hard to open up people's eyes. Yet some people are fighting back to focus on their own beliefs and that's it.
@tonyamartin1425 Says:
I'm sorry this lady isn't even logical and just talking about pushing her agenda. Ethics are common sense to most people it's amazing and groundbreaking to people running systems and large companies. If the mask works how is me not wearing one putting you in danger? duh?
@cmihalcea Says:
Right! And wearing a mask does so much in regards of viral protection as a good massage does to a wooden leg.

@fine3023 Says:
Someone finally confessed that the entire covid vaccine circus was about money! Bribe a group of mob to get the vaccine for children who based on scientific facts dont even need to be vaccinated against covid!
@if-not-now Says:
What does she mean by canceling language that shouldn't exist? The problem is, who gets to decide that and why. Doesn't it make sense to let people speak and refute what they're saying
@LifewithKarlyn Says:
I am not sure if the revelation of “the most important skill for success” was revealed, to me. I feel this was the battle of intellect. I prefer the question and answer format to an interview. This was interesting though.
@peterdegrandis4630 Says:
Right out of the gate, this women makes important sense; information is critical for making decision’s, but its more important to know we must make decisions knowing we can never be fully informed—life is a fluid, never ending process of searching for the least resistance to “more likely” prolong our survival. Sticking to her initial good reasoning would have delivered better messaging in total, if she didn’t inject subject social positioning and political narratives to make her good point and aim. —-disappointed; she excited me on the a great path that circled for no advance.
