Build IRONCLAD discipline in this FREE workshop: https://bit.ly/3RUnYux On Today's Episode: What version of success are you aiming for? Are you aiming for the rich life that looks flashy on the outside but broke and falling apart on the inside? Do the people that most inspire you have overnight success and hidden struggles or do they have a trail of lessons they share for you to learn from? Mel Robbins is the queen of real! She has shared her struggles openly and unapologetically with the intention of helping someone out there experiencing real sh*t that needs to see what's possible when you learn to struggle well, be resilient, and take the lessons life keeps handing you. Like her previous episodes on Impact Theory, Mel Robbins is giving you the real deal of what a messy authentic journey to success looks like from the inside out and from the bottom up. Key takeaways from this episode you can't miss is becoming a student of whatever it is you want to become. Study and master the experiences your decisions create and find ways to transform those lessons into unstoppable success. [20:42] '...I needed to be honest with myself that there are things that I have as natural talent and skills, [...] but I also have major weaknesses that I got to get under control, so that I don't derail possible success and fulfillment...' To the points made during the frame of reference versus programmed beliefs conversation I’ll add this. I believe that both of you made great points on each side of the discussion however I think the biggest point that lies in between is that if your frame of reference is distorted yes it is your responsibility to change it, HOWEVER if you do not realized it is distorted you cannot even begin to change what you do not know is broken. As well as what Mel mentions, there is so much evidence to support the programming you have lived an entire lifetime in and until something comes along to change the belief, a phenomenon, a life changing event, then you will not. However I do agree with Tom’s points about frame of reference because when you reach the point of realizing you have been programmed to believe some things that are responsible for your reality, you have to change it. It is your responsibility to as he says, “no matter how the deck is stacked, you must learn to play better.” But I do think he must take a moment to realize that programming isn’t just “broken” because you change your frame of reference. This is something many different types of people face, especially myself being a black person in America, I’ve faced the same issues. Learning that we have broken programs and even when the world provides evidence of it over and over again, that this is a hard barrier to break and takes the same amount of years that it took to install the program, it will take the same amount of time to uninstall as well. Frame of reference although powerful, will not fix the issue alone, as it is multilayered and often paired with tough intersectionality for many individuals. However, great conversation overall guys.

5:00 such a ridiculous excuse. " I must be missing the neurochemistry for waking up." yea Tom, your brain is so special. absolute bs. like a fat person blaming hormons, completely unsubstantiated. and the backwards cap? come on now. The reason this dildo feels like shit in the mornings is bc he "sleeps under the blanket" (also something that makes him "special", he loves feeling special!) and is inhaling his own carbon dioxide all fn night amd because hes got a fn BOOK running his ear all night. Might THAT haves something to do with it Tom?! For someone whos supposedly so intelligent, hes doing some stupid fn stuff when sleeping. Im surprised he doesn't sleep tucked up inside his own arse, hes up there most of the day anyway.

OMGosh, someone else who sleeps while listening to books!!! I learned to do this several years ago. I wake up and can't turn my brain off. Listening to something else lets my brain focus on the book rather than my thoughts and allows me to drift back to sleep.

I'd be concerned about EMF exposure wearing headphones especially all night. Consider finding some that are low EMF plus wearing EMF protection clothing or an EMF blanket. :) Those things are on my list. I need to find the headphones to use for starting my channel, podcasts, etc.

@SamanthaSmikle Says:
I can’t with Tom really trying to discredit the fact that discrimination and rascism is real. I love the fact that Mel got it. And said that his experience also probably reinforced that the world doesn’t want him to succeed. The lesson should be in spite of that, you have to believe that it is. Not that it’s your prospective. NO discrimination is also real for black and brown people. Please remember and be sensitive to this when you go into these inner city communities you are trying to help.
