I remember reading an interview with Pryor about 1980 ish where he said he purposly stopped cussing just to prove he could b funny with out cussing.

Too short, seems rushed. I dig the channel and have watched a lot. Because I watch on my smart TV, I don't have the ability to comment unless I go to my phone (not a big fan of the phone). I'd love a better paced and more in depth version of Richard Pryor.

What a legend!

Why does everyone always forget about See No Evil, Hear No Evil? 1987 Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder's best film in my opinion. It's actually hilarious! ...... And it rarely ever if never gets mentioned. R.i.p Rich
@rinzo2009 Says:
Everytime I watch a comedian's Biographics, that sad saying keeps ringing in my ears. "The saddest person in the party is always the clown". I must give Kudos to Gene Wilder (the OG Willie Wonka). I can tell that he and Richie had a brotherly bond of sort.
@Nothingness00000-o Says:
Haven't seen a lot of his stand up, but remember fondly his early 80s movies: eg Stir Crazy, Hear No Evil, See No Evil. ❤
@Lynzae Says:
I have Richard Pryor to thank for my love of comic books and comic book movies. Even though Superman III was a horrible movie, you can't deny that Richard was the absolute best part of that movie. I was just an itty-bitty but I watched that movie over and over again. As I got older I love his movies with Gene. I just watched Stir Crazy 2 nights ago. You can definitely tell Richard wasn't on his A game but he still made me laugh. Blazing Saddles is iconic, but can you imagine how spectacular it would've been with him playing Sheriff Bart. Cleavon Little was amazing too but Richard would have added something no one else could. Despite all his vices, Richard Pryor is proof that no matter your race, your childhood, or shitty circumstances, if you truly want to be someone in this life it's possible. I can't think of too many other famous and talented people who endured a more torturous childhood other than Billie Holiday.

I'm 50 yrs old. Many names you mentioned here I grew up watching on TV or movies. I call my neighbors dog Lamont big dummy. Those Richard Pryor looked up to. Alongside many others during their era. Continued paving the road for comedians, musicians and actors we have today. I always have and still respect Richard Pryor. RIP

His final appearance was on The Norm Show, with Norm himself... the greatest comedians from two generations, gone from the world but still within us, and thanks to this era they've been immortalized in film, footage which will never cease to be viewed on a daily basis until mankind reaches its last lap
@quinnrollen Says:
Thanks for making this! Guy was the best!
@DOsirisD Says:
Do one on Prince Hall ASAP !!!!! Richard Pryor was a Prince Hall Mason
@pandorasbox4238 Says:
My second favorite movie of his is The Toy. He's hired by a rich white guy who hires him to be a playmate for his son. It's a bit degrading, at first, but then things change and he becomes a good friend to the kid and helps father and son truly connect. I thought he wonderful. My favorite is Brewster's Millions. It was awesome. John Candy was his best friend.
@LloxieFox Says:
It really is crazy, and a kind of cosmic joke in itself, how the most hilarious comedians have the most fucked up backgrounds/personal lives/mental spaces.
@pamelahomeyer748 Says:
Given his childhood I don't blame him for anyting
@PeterCombs Says:
Pryors "Bicentennial NlGGER" was hilarious.
@MIKELIN8 Says:
I loved Richard Pryor. I recently saw an episode of "Wild Wild West" whoch featured Richard as a ventriloquist in a circus-like group of assassins. He was barely in the show, but it was clearly him.

Richard Pryor and George Carlin got me through the 70s with humor. I didn't have as screwed up life as him. But he showed me how to laugh at the bad side of life.

This was a fantastic video. It's amazing you were able to sum up his life in only 18 minutes or less when I know a deep dive would be hard to fit into 2 hour's. Great job by the writer. Keep up the good work.

When they say that we are standing on the shoulders of giants, Richard Pryor would be one of those giants.
