Ahh, Felix, who made Beria look gentle, mild mannered, and well behaved by comparison.

Love comrade Felix from Poland
@majkczajson7532 Says:
That's a national hero of Poland, at least for me, rest of the Poles rather hate him, without him secret police of commies would never work so effectively. He's not very well known, probably because second WW brings much much more of an attention, so the times before it aren't known that great, at least outside of small circle of ex USSR countries and ex socialist republics. That's pretty interesting considering the fact that, he literally created the most cruel secret organizations to this day. Jokes aside these times were so incredibly cruel and fearsome it's insane. Officially 15, but in truth 30 million people were executed. Fear of the people, especially these associated with bourgeoisie, or loyalist forces of Tsar's side, was beyond something you can imagine. "Factories of death" or just human slaughterhouses were built, special facilities made to murder enemies of state in tens of thousands in very short time. These buildings were designed to execute people by shot to the head, blood of the victims was drained through specially constructed system of gutters. The worst part of this genocide, was the fact that chekists and executioners, after some time became completely emotionless and numb to all this atrocities. Ordering execution as another formality needed to be done. They didn't care about anything. They could tell you, while looking you right in the eyes that you'll be executed and they did it without any emotion. Trust me, these times were beyond everything that's human. Russian people had no idea what they were doing, how the entire revolution will end. A lot of russian intelligence wanted revolution too, well they didn't know they will be one of the first to be murdered. Fun fact, Dzierżyński's brother was running a school, and when he wanted something to be done, like repairs or other things like that, he signed the letters with his name and postscript saying Felikse's brother. You can imagine how fast everything was done.

You have a great channel and I have really enjoyed your informative take on the subjects you deal with. One point of improvement though: For those names of places, could you add some kind of written info box and possible changes or if different writing system then also add the name in the original language and also if you have to dig up name changes along the way if there has been any. Like many of the former USSR names of places might have changed. This could make i.e tracking of those escapes and other exiles easier for those who are interested. Thank you

basically 'scum of the earth' type of person.
@tyryonolofing3405 Says:
A hillariously cruel and merciless leader, the one who established basically terror method of fighting anyone who dared even to say anything against the Regime. Workaholic on a verge of maniac. Person, which even acquired now a city with his own name - guess who was given there flats? The first sign of what is actually 'the Soviet power' is, now hus succecors terrorize more, than only their own country. Final judgement of the sins of state defenders is inevitable: again they shall be deemed unnecessary by the state itself, and no one will ever care for the fate of those who's work always was eating the people alive. Nothing is eternal, and their power so - and i will do anything in my hands, to put an end to their misery and cruelty.

Could you cover Genrikh Yagoda?
@heberpelagio7161 Says:
Felix Dzerzhinsky's story serves to contradict those who try to describe Lenin and Stalin as antagonistic examples in terms of character and ideals: he was the right hand man of both them!
@ruturajshiralkar5566 Says:
Simon bro, plz make a video on NKVD Chiefs Vyachislav Menzhinsky & Genrikh Yagoda and CCP General Secretary Brezhnev. Also make one on Andrei Gromyko, the Mr Nyet.

Uritsky was killed on orders of British spies Reilly and Lockhart. They were on fact busy planning a coup, but this was foiled by the Red Terror. According to them Kaplan ruined their plans.
@slow_bitter73 Says:
How can anyone know this about these people and still be sympathetic to the Soviet Union? They're just as bad, probably worse than Hitler.

@kroulinka Says:
Simon, can you do a biography about someone from Poland?
@olexandrs6639 Says:
Ur research on historic matters is again extremely poor. Dzekzhynskyy organized 2 assassination attempts on Lenin. Lenin created Cheka to kill other bolsheviks. U not mentioned murder of Germam ambassador... (Dzerzhinskyy attempt to undermine Lenin's authority by sparking war against Germany against peace policy of Lenin.
@garyfrombrooklyn Says:
Your biographies are so interesting. It makes one aspire to become famous so they can be featured on your channel. Famous or infamous lol
