Sounds logic, but where is the proof? In my opinion, this is perhaps a small part of the puzzle, and nutrition is the key influenc (perhaps medication). We don't remember many hyperactive persons from the generation born while WWII in Germany while the parents were under enormous stress, often fighting for their lifes.
@Light-l2y Says:
They don't have adhd. Memory and focus isnt something you just have. You have to work on them. Adhd is an excuse.
@ArchimedesPie Says:
People are weak and spoiled.! Stress?...?...? I love this guys compassion, but this is an enablers take. People now live far, far, far more comfortable lives than anyone did 100 years ago.

Meat deficiency + food additive toxicity = ADHD

I have to agree. I was an unknowing product of this behavior for generations and have realized that I may have carried this on. Understanding this, I have made it my mission to do what I can to bring awareness and fix it. That’s the best I can do. 🙏🏾

I love this man, I've listened to many of his talks and agreed with him a lot. I had a wonderful childhood, stable, I was loved, positive feedback, lovely extended family, 2 siblings I'm very close to, intelligent, well-read parents. My report cards were A and B's, and the comments were always the same, 'If she would try harder and concentrate in class, she'd do better'. I was a day dreamer, I remember looking out the window, and teachers saying 'Anne, concentrate!!' I couldn't do homework, just couldn't make myself, I was intelligent enough to get through school until late high school. My friends were all very intelligent, heading to higher learning, and I couldn't keep up. Quit school a number of times, I just couldn't do it. Tried getting my GED (Ontario, Canada) couldn't concentrate. I was chronically late. Lost, friends, lost jobs, full of shame. I've lived under the poverty line my whole adult life. My daughter at 31 was diagnosed with ADHD, and she said, "You definitely have it." I went and got an assessment, and it's as plain as the nose on your face when you start to delve into the traits of ADHD, I am inattentive and distracted. At 61 years old, my life finally made sense, and it explained everything. Although it was bitter sweet, my life could have been so different with an early diagnosis and help. At the very least, I now knew why I'd been unable to 'Adult', I can let go of some of the shame, I can finally be more confident in my opinions, and I understand how I ended up in bad relationships and why I appeared to he such a 'loser'. You can not tell me it was a reaction to an issue in my childhood. It's not fair to tell neurodivergent people that their life issues can be fixed by understanding the issues in their childhood. I'm pissed. ✌️💜🇨🇦

Until very recently...I too was skeptical of this viewpoint. I'm a fan of Barkley. I've literally spent, at this point, THOUSANDS of hours reading ADHD studies and all related literature I can get my hands on. I think both sides of the framing are "correct." They're both simply looking from different vantage points and missing the obvious integrative answer. Children with adhd are almost always prone to some form of overactive emotional responses, autoimmunity, allergies, and what forms one of the best frameworks for giftedness..."Overexcitiabilities." ADHD is simply a child wired with very particular genetic propensity (MTHFR related snips, RCCX encompassed mutations, etc) crashing "head first" metaphorically speaking with a chaotic early developmental environment (often leading to symptoms later on in life we do now diagnose as CPTSD.) Genetic propensity activated through epigenetic changes (meditated via their environment) = ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, etc + a whole plethora of clearly associated condition of the immune system, digestive system, nervous system, muscular/skeletal etc. (Also often in some unique way, quite brilliant. "Gifted") 👀

As a parent this puts a put in my stomach. I need to lead by example and prioritise my day carefully.
@Winedreams77 Says:
Please point out a time in human history when parents have not been stressed 😅
@missm4731 Says:
because the pharma pays good money to have their drugs prescribed. And parents prefer to have their kids numbed down than paying attention to them.
@VioletReed-d3v Says:
The brilliant Dr. Gabor Mate.
@astronaft2 Says:
That's his opinion. ADHD is an adaptation to bullshit, to informational overload of irrelevant information. Good for them. No one needs to watch news, no one needs to know what happening across the world, and no one needs to watch who does what on instagram. All this crap is draining. These children are immune to it - they don't pay attention.
@caterpie911 Says:
Well, because more doctors diagnose it than ever to sell more Ritalin & co
@tigermomsmith1478 Says:
Wrong 😂
@RussleMillaldinho Says:
Terrible selfish parenting and poor education system and too much screens
@Jessica-ko1eg Says:
I agree. The family unit has been broken in America. People are barely able to put food on the table. Couples are either fighting or divorcing over the stresses of life. Unaffordable healthcare, holding down several jobs to make ends meet while others work the system off tax payers backs, affordable housing is non existent and yes, the kids suffer. The system is broken. Our president is senile. God Bless America. We send billions to fund wars without the taxpayers consent yet there are elderly and homeless veterans walking our streets.
@joaquin67 Says:
I thought it was because of short form content training your brain to have a short attention span
@rachelmoore5079 Says:
It’s because of the food. Which also causes stress
@09nob Says:
Or it's the new hip new excuse.
@robynhope219 Says:
He has the answer to everything...doesn't he? Don't forget: he was a practicing GP, that's all, which does not give him the license to pretend to know everything.

@TheGittarDaddy Says:
Parents weren’t “more stressed” during the days when most people were starving and dies young? Or the World Wars Or the Great Depression etc?
@SpartanFitnessMma1 Says:
More kids have ADHD because psychaitry is a sham of a fuckin industry with 0 evidence to actually diannose people. No brain scans no neurom connectivity testing no dopamine or serotonin testing which ADHD people have low dopamine so that should be mandatory for a test to even prescribe shit like that the list goes on. More kids are diagnosed because it's a sham of an industry
@gdoe24 Says:
Or maybe it’s the fact that they all use iPads starting at 1
@cpg8000 Says:
The other reason(s) is that anyone that complains of inattention to a psychiatrist is diagnosed with ADHD. Neuropsych testing is the real way to test for ADHD, but 99% of people won’t do it, and psychiatry loves to dispense pills for whatever symptom is self-reported to keep the business rolling in.
@magicalfrijoles6766 Says:
This screams of Deepak Chopra nonsense. The most compelling argument I've heard for the rise in ADHD is lack of sleep mixed with attention span being shot by living with a screen in your face.
@GaryBee_13 Says:
Diet. Too much sugar and upf.
