It annoys me how people that are so negative and depressed... are just like there's no God or "i don't believe in anything.. this is all there is... Blah blah blah." Like c'mon man... surely Jesus Christ if he loves us all... Would want to help you out.. y not take that effin offer?? Sh** i would... i don't want to go to hell... idk. I'm like in the middle of both sides... I feel sorry for the depressed individual that wants to end it all or find peace but doesn't believe in God or heaven/hell etc.. any form of spirituality and i also am a Christian who still holds to the idea of Heaven and Hell... bieng by default NEXT after we all die... so when i hear atheists dismiss the lifejacket (Jesus) and flip him off instead then drown... I'm just there like... 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

depression and anxiety is a mindset and nothing more. we all go through struggles in life, but as soon as you put a label on it and start to identify with a “disorder”, you lose the battle. you need to constantly fight and resist that bad mindset. get out, go for walks, go to the gym, get on a good diet, etc. God designed these things for a reason and when you sit at home on your phone all day absorbed into the social media machine, you’re not going to be happy.
@thomaswhaley9799 Says:
I suffer from depression for decades. I only was lifted from it when I gave it up to God. I could only do that if I lived for Him. That’s why we all need to have a relationship with God. In a relationship with God we live for him and we follow His path. When we do that the temptation of the world doesn’t tempt or hinder us.

I used to be like this several years ago, but the pastor of the church I'm currently attending once told me he didn't watch the FAKE news and just prayed trusted GOD. #1) GOD is in control #2)whatever happens it's HIS will anyway #3) there's nothing we can do about it anywayh #4) We (Christians) know the end of the book and.........WE WIN!!! So I know Satan has NOTHING over me when I trust in the LORD. 'As for me and my house, we will trust the LORD'.

The real answer: Get in Christ, get out of the sin business, and stay in Christ. Many many people who say they are Christians, never develop in Christ. Many initially get saved but then fall away and end up yielding to sin and the devil again. To develop and advance in Christ, spend daily time consistently doing the 7 instructions listed in the 100th Psalm. In short order, depression and anxiety will become a thing of the past. Depression and anxiety is mostly amplified by demon powers. Do those instructions each day while using the word of God against the devil as instructed in Ephesians chapter 6 and you will become victorious in Jesus Christ!!

Jesus said he'd never leave us and forsake us because he loves us, but it doesn't feel like this is true sometimes. 😔 Get with other Christians IF YOU ARE ABLE cus many of us aren't able and keep in prayer and God's word daily.

Here is what we are to be doing in a small group according to scripture. Acts 2:42 42 “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved”. Good luck finding a ‘church’ building that will do that today. We all have to pray to find the Remnant to fellowship with.

Propaganda has always been an effective tool. There's a reason we are referred to as 'sheep' by God. Sheep are dumb, naive, and mean when they want to be. I see today a church brimming with lay and leaders who speak so much on how they are sick of this or that culture war issue that they view the world through that lens as opposed to a Christian world view. I think this is a large contributing factor here. Because of misuse of terms, concepts, or even problems themselves (or rather misuse of broken handling of it, and thus broken people), we end up with cold pharisees that merely heap on more burden with not a finger to spare for helping with it. This factor results in people who take a few keywords or concepts, generalize and presume, then without investigating thoroughly and investing real effort and time to think it through, they dismiss someone and presume the details. The favoritism and virtue signaling, all products of cowardly pleasing people for their praise, magnifies the problem. King Saul was known for this. A true saying from the past, and not limited to gun control is, "A gun control advocate is someone who hasn't yet been robbed or raped." I can empathize with those who don't share in certain experiences, but that isn't biblical empathy. Neither is it a product of intelligence, cunning, or formal education. Rather, it is a product of character. The heart. Justifying oneself because, "I wasn't gifted in those areas" would be laughable were it not so horrible and pathetic. That bombastic narcissist posting as a church leader would never allow for such excuses of anyone else in any circumstance, unless expedient. I think another related factor remains the selective outrage (think 'Texas Cherry Picking' not selectivity through discernment and investigation) that is often combined with the neglect. Very few are willing to love sacrificially and give as they were given... comfort as they were comforted. I lost count of church leaders that have no room for compassion or helpful burden bearing because they are too busy patting themselves on the back for their achievements. I wonder what people thought of God's disciplining of Nebuchadnezzar before, during, and after his time of free range, grass fed living? A humble, steward's heart looks much different than what is promoted and championed within most church's today. Was God's rebuke and admonition in the Bible only for congregations of those times, or us all now? Humility and contrition look good on each believer. We should stop worshiping man, congregations, movements, and doctrine itself and focus on the living God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The cool, dismissive theologian who only appears to open up with glorifying himself is a type Jesus angrily confronted, rebuked, and exposed. Oh, and Frank. Big props for mentioning the Bob Newhart skit. What a classic!

It’s sad how indoctrinated people are with the medical side of the world. A Christian does not need a secular counselor. These people don’t know how to help them selves let alone help someone else.

Christians try to solve an emotional and mental problem with a spiritual solution is like using a hammer for something that requires a screwdriver, this why people who become Christians after alcohol abuse drugs depression legal issues etc and get told Jesus will solve it then they pray that's a problem because your still an acholic if your saved it's more than and spiritual issue it's also physical mental and emotional but christians arent very smart and and just think by praying the prayer of salvation Jesus will fix it in one shot and that is dangerous you still need actual practical solutions than just prayer I've seen many people try to be saved and think that's enough to resistance the urge to get back into the habit of old living but like I said they think one prayer will undo years of habits behaviors addictions .
@catherinequake2621 Says:
Look at God, don't look at your problem, looking at your problem don't help you solve your problem instead make you upset more. You look up to God, first you must know who God is.......God is a knowing God, He loves you, He understands you and He will help you go through it. You need to trust and believe God. God is Jesus Christ ...3 in 1 ......go through it, the problem), not wipe the problem ......everyone on earth has to face it one day or any second. We are living in the world of evil mean no love, no peace, self centre, greed, murderer, liars, cheating (scammer), stealing, jealously ppl, disrespect elderly ppl, dishonest ppl, not contended ppl etc... we are all sinners. We need a saviour to save us...we are dying with sins..the wages of sin is death....but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 6:23 We are servant to sin (evil) that why we need Jesus Christ as our saviour to be master of sin....that mean you can say No to sin and repent for our sins...self control only when depend on the Holy Spirit not ourself....with God all things are possible. My comment is not a debate or suggestion. Is advise.

I agree with Dr. Turek on this issue completely. My wife suffers from depression and anxiety, and she was greatly blessed by being in fellowship at our smaller sized church. Initially, she would stay home from church while I took our kids. Years later, she is now going on a mission trip to South America soon. The kindness and attention of the elder ladies in our church was a major factor in her rejuvenation. She still has struggles, but she is significantly better than she was previously. We moved away to the next county over from our church, but we still drive over 30 miles just to make it there every Sunday. Community is crucial to a healthy spiritual walk.

John McArthur teaches mental illness is sin. I wonder if Alzheimer's is sin. His wife has that. Mental illness like cancer are the results of our fallen world. Yet God can use this also for His glory.

If you have a broken bone, go get it fixed by a doctor. If your brain chemistry is 'off', and you have anxiety, depression, bi-polar, psychosis, go to a doctor. Laypersons do not understand brain chemistry for the most part. This lack of education makes people without knowledge form judgements about the hurting person as though they have a personal problem that God can fix. Going on medication from a psychiatrist is giving glory to God so that you can function better in your relationship with Christ. Many people are afraid of the unknown as I mentioned, I am very educated in brain chemistry and understand it is no different than say having chronic kidney disease. Are you aware that taking most over the counter pain meds, such as Aspirin, Aleve, Advil, and others, 7% of people using these (and other brands) will end up with Kidney Disease. Get a blood test to see what your GFR is. (Filtration Rate of Kidneys) Hope this helpful to at least one person, Christian or other person created in His image! And prayer for yourself and others is so important for getting closer to the Lord as we all know. God bless. PS: there are a ton of MD's who are Christian.

I have a genuine Christian question. If so many demons were cast out in the presence of Christ and his disciples out of compassion and mercy, why would they also not give people a chance to have their demons cast out before they are judged? It would seem counterintuitive that Christians who actually stood in Christs presence were forgiven, but we will not be forgiven unless we accept Christ without seeing? I do happen to believe, but It would seem reasonable to allow a person to directly witness the miracle of Christ and be given a chance to repent before they are judged instead of declaring that all people must believe without seeing in order to be saved. Perhaps I am misunderstanding the scripture but I would really appreciate the feedback. I appreciate all that you do for the gospel.

I'm thankful he said if needed, get counseling. Nothing is wrong with being a Christian and needing therapy. I was in really bad place in 2018 to 2019, and my former church rallied around me, once I was able to tell them that I wanted to unalive myself. No judgement, nothing but love. To this day, no one ever brings it up, and just loving me.

I tried to reply to a comment, but it seems that somehow I am barred from replying to that person. Oh well, never mind. Climate change seems to be denied mainly by the Republicans, and it would seem that there is some connection between some politicians and carbon fuel producers. There is no suggestion that either relates to a religious conviction. In all countries throughout all times there have been books that have been banned, sometimes completely, sometimes only in some establishments. When I was school librarian, back in the 1970s, there was a list of banned books and a list of books that needed 'authorisation' to read for serious research purposes. Christians do not worship guns. They worship God. Christians do not 'demonize' any group, although they may point out that some groups are demonic. Elected lawmakers, elected by citizens, make laws. Whether they are or are not Christian is another question. If the majority wants a law passed, just because you don't like it, doesn't make it 'evil'. No state in the US has any legal process whereby it can forcibly get people pregnant. The state does not force people to give birth. In no US state are rapists executed. Nor are adulterers. There are 3 people in every pregnancy. In no state in the US would either of the adults be executed, regardless of their role in the pregnancy. How is it remotely civilised to execute the third person of the pregnancy?
