@danielnewman3441 Says:
I thought he was born 2/7/1895? I give up questioning you. I paused it when it said 1894, then watched the rest of the video. LOL
@cigardankinzel8149 Says:
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen on any of the Simon Whistler Network.
@richdouglas2311 Says:
Ruth didn't call the shot. No contemporary reports in the papers. Pitcher Charlie Root denied Ruth did it, saying he would have beaned Ruth if he had. Even Ruth never actually claimed it. He didn't mention it after the game and was cagey about it ever since. The more likely explanation is that, being ridden by the Cubs' bench and having two strikes on him, he was signaling to their dugout that he had one more strike coming. No one told Ruth he had cancer, but he knew. Without doubt, the greatest player of all time. It's not even close.

"Babe" Ruth will always be the greatest baseball player of all time!!!! 😊

@ricardosantee3511 Says:
I don't care, there should always be an asterisk* next to Babe Ruth's name and records because he played with whites only...

How was his parents a whole year (minus a day) off on when his actually birthday was?
@AdrianM777 Says:
Beautiful. Thank you for making this. Learned so much about a legend and also felt moved by his impact.
@astephens1963 Says:
He along with the Charleston dance and Charles Lindberg are the very definition of the roaring 20's. No other person in sports definaed an entire decade. I consider him then it's Mickey Mantle followed by Wilt Chamberlin and then Tom Brady. But the Bade is in a league all his own
@languagelearningwithap Says:
Thank you. This was done in a really classy way. I love Babe Ruth. I learned a lot from this short video on him. The final lines of the video were awesome and so true. He was just a fan and a ball player. Well said, and something that multiple documentaries and sportscasters have missed about the guy. Really, sports stars are just people that are playing boys games. It is the escapism, and the entertainment of the game that he helped bring to the game. Awesome channel! Keep up the great work!
@coreyboddicker9861 Says:
My grandfather is Mike Boddicker and played for some of those teams !!😃
@elmascavidal1797 Says:
The great Bambino. Gorge Herman Ruth #3
@aresee8208 Says:
Did you say Baltimore Oracles? That woud be an interesting team name, but better for one in, say, Delphi Indiana. The team in Baltimore at the time was - and still is - called the Baltimore Orioles, as in the name of an actual type of bird native to eastern North America.
@WaifuVideoGamer Says:
Got struck out by a women an did a hissy fit about it. What a sore loser.
@MikeTheMike2 Says:
Could you imagine if he actually played a real sport like football or Baseball? I couldn't.
@cliffordgallegos6155 Says:
Ted Willams is still more interesting.
@themorningbump8546 Says:
your beard is insane
@jessemichael5362 Says:
You knocked this out the park!
@mr.vizard4015 Says:
Babe Ruth banged my great grandma. She never showered again after that. My grandpa said she smelled better in death than in life. The Roaring 20’s 😢
@danielreuben1058 Says:
I wonder if the explanations of pitchers/hitters was actually for Simon? He's not a fan of sports. Yet, as always, he delivers a great video.
@josephgriffin2388 Says:
Even Micheal Jordan won't get that kind of parting memorabilia.
@jessicashilling4319 Says:
Would love for you to cover Hank Aaron! He broke Babe Ruth’s record.
@heatherporterfield7343 Says:
Babe Ruth's home run record was not broken until 1974 by Hank Aaron .
@junesilverman8154 Says:
"Who is this Baby Ruth, and what does she do?" - George Bernard Shaw
@OnGod1007 Says:
Can you imagine the Babe Ruth Award for the best pitcher in the National and American League instead of the Cy Young. It’s crazy to think he was one of the best pitchers and there is a very strong possibility he might have been a HoF pitcher.
@oneispispike3205 Says:
That Wae Great!!
@hisoverlorduponhigh90 Says:
Simon, at 4:03 you mistakenly say The Baltimore Oricles. That is incorrect, it is The Baltimore Orioles.
@hisoverlorduponhigh90 Says:
I remember being a boy in Baltimore. We played a lot of Baseball. We would take a break. I remember us boys telling stories about Babe Ruth. We did not even know Ruth was from Baltimore.
@joshuapatrick682 Says:
In 50-100 years they’ll be making this video about Shohei Ohtani….why though? Because he pitched 300 innings in the last two season and hit 80 HR over that time too. Not even Ruth has done that.
@lorihattendorf8790 Says:
As I was thinking how much my dad would like this video, I thought of legendary Notre Dame football coach Knute Rockne. He'd be fun for a biography.
@raf1425 Says:
One record that will never be broken. Most pitching Wins by a player with at least 714 home runs.
@williamarchibald1378 Says:
Baltimore ORIOLES not ORACLES
@mecahhannah Says:
Can you cover Michael Jordan please?
