Forspoken is an action role-playing game developed by Luminous Productions and published by Square Enix. It released on January 24, 2023, on PlayStation 5 and Windows.
The protagonist, Frey Holland is a directionless, yet street smart young woman who has persevered despite her rough upbringing in New York City. And her life hasn't really gotten any easier now that she's about to turn 21. Things take a turn for the unexpected when she's magically transported to Athia, a land where fantasies and nightmares are suddenly very real. Playing as Frey, you'll need to harness newly discovered magical abilities to battle the monsters that inhabit the land. To have a chance of returning home, she'll also have to contend with the Tantas — destructive and twisted all-powerful who have dominion over Athia.
The player character, Frey, has access to a variety of magical spells. Following each combat encounter, the player will earn experience points. Frey's cloak can be upgraded in order to improve her combat efficiency and stats, while applying nail polish unlocks special abilities. The player can also craft new items, or rest at a safe location in order to restore health. While the player is exploring the game world, they may encounter a "breakstorm", a scenario similar to a horde mode in which waves of creatures spawn and attack Frey. The storm will end with the appearance of a named boss character.
Appreciate the support so far! I got into a rhythm with this game and it's way better than reviews so far. We got Hogwarts next week!

To be honest the dialog seems down to earth nothing too fancy an super smart ass makes it feels that more authentic in my opinion, not saying that the cast is dumb or anything just feels like an simple person doing simple things i can relate ALOT.

I agree how the game it FINE. Best way to describe it is Generic with a fun gameplay.
I would say this game has a similar premise to Arifureta: from commonplace to world's strongest. But unlike Frey, the Main Character there full on just wants to go home. Doesn't care about the world that dragged him from his world to be their hero. And will even kill to get to his goal.
Personality wise she's more like... Sorey from Tales of Berseria. But Frey is more indecisive, makes excuses for her actions. Saying "it's for self defense" doesn't excuse you killing people. Even goodie-to-shoes characters like Sorey, or Tanjiro from Demon Slayer, understand this.
From my understanding. What she's doing kind of disrespects the dead.
And also, she says Fuck a lot. Lacking any creativity in the cussing department. Like with characters like Kaine. Which is usually the FUN thing about asshole characters like her.

Idk what the new gen consoles are capable of but there are multiple instances where Frey seems to answer the questions you speak out loud without any input from Cuff. Either a weird coincidence or things are getting good

Why the graphics looks like a game from 2012, the world is empty like some uninvested sandbox open world, and the NPCs look and talk like bad scripted wooden dolls?.. That's what I couldn't understand in a supposed to be AAA and close to $100 game. I think it'll be a fun purchase for the combat system only if the game gets to $20 on discount (which I believe will happen soon, given the reviews for being worse game of 2023)

I’m pretty far into the game and I love it. The only thing I wish they had more dialogue because it’s mostly the same dialogue going over and over. They seem to bring in new dialogue but it’s late in the game. other than that the game is challenging and great. it’s a huge world out there if you decide to take your time and go through it. there’s a lot of things to see and a lot of things to do. not to mention, it’s a great storyline. hopefully more people will take the time to do it. I really enjoy your videos and I’m looking forward to seeing a lot more. Have fun everybody.

This game is a solid 7.5/8 sore game n gameplay is great. Boss fight is insane n no bugs as usual for most SONY Exlusive Games.

PREDICTION: What if tanta sila was the one keeping the break from reaching the city? and another sila is the one speaking through the cuff? If the cuffs are tanta cuffs (revealed when she killed tanta sila), that mean a tanta had sacrificed one of her cuffs to give Frey abilities. They are using Frey to start a war.
