I can only imagine all the people claiming this is "beating" pokemon are only spiteful ex pokemon fans because this game doesn't even compete in the same market at pokemon. It plays infinitely closer to Rust or Ark than any pokemon game. No actual pokemon fan is thinking "damn I was gonna get legends A-Z, but that palworld game just scratches that same itch".
It would be like saying "yeah, when Day Before comes out, that's IT for Dead by Daylight, noone's gonna play that trash"

You know what I find the most funny about this game? I was super hyped for it when no one was paying attention to it at all. Then when it finally came out I saw the gameplay and was like, "Wow, this looks like shit" while everyone else around me was super hyped for what basically amounts to a carbon copy of every crafting game I've ever played.
