As someone who has never been able to justify playing these games(too hard, don't like getting worked up and frustrated in my little free time), It's hilarious to see "Gud" souls player piss and moan at this DLC for being too hard. Guess what, that's the same experience I have with these games. Not so fun, huh? Git gud LOL

I found a super secret strategy I like to call "not being into soulslike". It lets me not play the game and stay away from people who think Elden Ring is the pinnacle of well balanced and enjoyable difficulty like its the only genre thats allowed to be hard, but also if you find them hard you have no skill and are a loser.

The biggest mistake people make is entering this DLC with their NG+ characters. DLC is like 10x harder if you do so.
- On PC I had to use summons and mimic tear to get through any boss because my character was NG+2.
- On PS5 I had a new character, level 110-120 ish, I beat every single boss solo, and I'm not a great souls player.

I do this crazy technique where I equip gear and level. Then I do something even crazier where I avoid getting hit and use a shield for when I can't avoid it. I also use my weapon when I am not being hit. These radical completely original concepts I have come up with have caused me to always eventually progress and win in fromsoft games.

elden ring is the most "for everybody" a fromsoft game has ever been, and I love it for being able to do that while maintaining its core identity. If you can beat it and still want a harder game, just play it again and make it harder on yourself.
if you cant beat it, then youre not motivated enough to "git gud" and thats okay. the game still isnt for everyone, just dont whine about it lmao

if you take into account summons and magic as integral to the game rather than an easy mode, the dlc really is perfect and an improvement on every part of the game imho. i genuinely don't understand why people are still playing elden ring like its dark souls.
