I used to play and make so many levels for Knytt Stories, and Animal Well reminded me a lot of my time with that game. The fun, cryptic puzzles and secrets were the types of puzzles and secrets I liked to put in my levels. It's just my type of game and the type of game I would want to make if I was a game developer. The puzzles get really cryptic after rolling the credits. And to find the eggs and other secrets, you really have to search for empty pixels on the map. But even in doing that, it’s still fun.

So when I was a child in the mid nineties, my friend’s older brothers had an NES with oodles of cartridges. One of the cartridges was David Crane’s A BOY AND HIS BLOB. I liked how that game threw you into the deep end with its weird mechanics and sprawling world, but I always felt like the game never quite made good on its premise.
You just did it. Pretty much nailed it. ANIMAL WELL is A BOY AND HIS BLOB but fully realized. David Crane would be very proud. Well Dun.
