the ubisoft open world is what didn't do it for me, just way too much. complete bloat doing the same 3 things with little noteworthy variation.
i just can't believe we're still doing this.
and most of the Reasoning behind the exploration being tied to those two annoying robo kids didn't help, constant interruption & repeat dialogue and for what. mai's enemy intel is interesting sometimes though if you listen to it before fighting so she's not talking your ear off during.
most everything else though i did enjoy, the combat (for the most part) and soundtrack are stellar. i thought most sidequests were fine and liked the character stuff and they provided more of an excuse to yet again trek through the open world rather than assassins creed towers & whatnot.
i also didn't mind most of the minigames either outside of trying to get the best reward for a few of them, which yeah are optional but yes some of them are freakishly stupid hard.
overall main story was fine, aside from obvious pacing issues. i also can't say i care for any of the New weird kingdom hearts multiverse timeline stuff if i'm honest though. im just here for everything else. not a fan of every change butt what can u do.
the finale gave me the same feelings at the end of remake which was just kinda numb indifference.

It's batshit insane that you can entirely skip Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus and barely miss anything but if you didn't play the mobile battle royale or it's story remake in the new and still unfinished gacha game that won't see a worldwide release until September, a somewhat important character teased throughout the story and set up to be a villain in part 3, Glenn, is a complete fucking mystery.
