Click here to download your FREE guide to 100x YOUR EFFICIENCY IN 10 EASY STEPS: https://bit.ly/3F8qOJL Chat GPT AI went from 0 to over 100Million users in less than 2 months. AI is super fucking dangerous, but it's inevitable, will make our lives better, and you should CAREFULLY love it. Is AI dangerous? Next to thermonuclear war and an asteroid strike, I'd say it's the most radically dangerous threat that we face as a species. Buuuuut I'm still super excited. And by the end of this video you will be too. If you're terrified of AI right now, you're rational. If you're not at least worried it will take a wrong turn into James Cameron territory, you're not paying attention. To paraphrase Elon Musk, the human endeavor to create AI could be the first step towards a technological utopia or a demon summoning circle. It's not clear which way it will go. But one thing is for sure, we will not control it. And he's right, but the truth is, the genie is out of the bottle, and we're going to have to deal with it. For the most part our insatiable drive for progress is awesome. The modern world really is a miracle. We have buses that fly for the love of god. And if people like Eric Weinstein are correct, our thirst for progress will lead us to building technology that doesn't just allow us to fly around the world, it will give us the ability to manipulate time and space itself - propelling us well beyond our solar system at faster than light speeds. I fear it will be a bit of both. AI, which simply stands for Artificial Intelligence, is getting smart. Really smart. And AI doesn't have to outsmart us by much to completely dominate us. Let me give you an example for scale: A moron is technically someone with an IQ of about 70. The average IQ in the US is 98. Einstein was estimated to be 160. And according to the Guiness book of World Records, the highest IQ ever recorded came in at a whopping 210. That means that a super genius is only 3 times smarter than a moron. But Einstein, who was actually only 2.3 times smarter than a moron, had insights that gave birth to nuclear power and nuclear bombs, not to mention lasers, GPS, and a whole lot more. Said another way, a little intelligence goes a loooooooong way. Nuclear warheads are scary enough, but AI isn't going to be a little smarter than Einstein, it's going to be a LOT smarter. Not 5 times smarter or 10 times or even 10,000 times smarter. We're talking millions of times smarter. Despite the reality of all the bad stuff that's coming, here are three traps we must avoid. 1. Burying our heads in the sand. 2. Panicking. 3. Trying to abolish AI. Panicking is the same as actively taking your own intelligence offline. When you panic, blood leaves your prefrontal cortex, which is the seat of high level cognition. Therefore it actually makes you dumber. And in the face of artificial super intelligence that strikes me as a very bad idea. This is going to be the bleakest thing that I say today, but if we're going to walk a wise path forward, we've got to face all of this. And, as they say, it's darkest right before dawn, which I promise is coming. But first, here's the reality you will instantly know to be true - when humans find powerful things we use them. Because AI as a weapon is a zero sum game. If only one nation develops it, it will be winner take all. And no one can risk an adversary getting Artificial Super Intelligence while they sit around entering funny prompts into ChatGPT. In the short term you need to do three things: 1. Reframe your thinking around AI. Don't see it as the enemy. See it as a tool. You're not going to be replaced by AI, at least not yet. You're going to be replaced by a human using AI. Be the human that replaces others. 2. Figure out how AI is going to disrupt you. Face it head on. Don't run. Don't hide. Identify your vulnerabilities and shore up your skill set. 3. Identify all of the AI tools that are relevant to you and master them. Learn absolutely everything you can. Remember, this is the very beginning of a very aggressive revolution. Moving quickly gives you advantages. First of all, let me acknowledge that I'm a pundit here, not an expert. While we're working feverishly to integrate AI into our company's workflow, I'm not the guy who can tell you how AI works under the hood. So what follows will be me thinking out loud based on what I've learned from the experts in my attempts to use AI in both my daily life and the daily operations of my company.

AI and intelligence don't have anything in common. The way AI behaves indicates it's no more intelligent than a prokaryotic cell. AI and IQ don't mix by any means. You're just fearmongering. 🤡🤡🤡

I don't think that IQ is so simple. Someone with 140 iq is not 2x smarter than someone with 70 iq

Tom, do you think we're going to solve the alignment problem before the singularity? It currently seems AI is being developed far faster than we are making progress on alignment.
@AlterEgo-i9s Says:
I disagree with defining a person with an IQ below 70 as a moron. By definition a moron is a very stupid person. Stupidity in it self is behaviour that shows a lack of good sense or judgement. E.g. people with Down Syndrome average below 70, yet can be well functioning parts of society. I'd like to add that intelligence is a broad term. IQ doesn't account for emotional intelligence nor bodily and etc.

Since AI is learning from us, at which point will AI itself have an existential crisis?

I asked chatgpt a simple question ..Why ants would hate sea? it cannot even reason...It gave me a whole bunch of theories like habitat , geography and rest all crap, which are right when it comes to large amount of data ..On a human level the simple answer would be ants love sweets not salt...The good news is that they cannot think like humans yet

I am 75-years old, and I am quite frankly terrified of what AI will inevitably bring. This is no idle theory, no "flight of fancy." I am also a student of history, and if we have learned anything from history, it is this: Whenever mankind has a major technological breakthrough, what is the VERY FIRST THING we do with it?? We use it to more effectively wage war against our neighbors. This is certainly no secret. When the Chinese invented gunpowder, they didn't just make FIRECRACKERS with it, they used it to make missiles and bombs, and if anyone has just seen the blockbuster film "Oppenheimer" about the man who helped invent the atomic bomb, you already know this to be true. When we first learned how to split the atom, we didn't used it to make a nuclear reactor for peaceful energy use, we immediately used to to more effectively KILL PEOPLE. Both Einstein and Robert Oppenheimer lived to regret their decision to move forward with the bomb. Need more proof?? No problem. How many of you even realize that the internet was actually invented to be a faster way of processing mass amounts of data on the battlefield?? Yes, once again the most powerful tool ever devised by mankind was originally designed to MORE EFFECTIVELY KILL PEOPLE. I doubt if many of you know this, and I hope you pass this little tidbit of knowledge on to your friends and family, because it's100% true. In fact, the moment the personal computer was invented, I knew that this technology would end poorly and here's why, in just one brief sentence. *When mankind's SCIENTIFIC UNDERSTANDING outpaces our SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING, the result is always catastrophic.. always.* In other words, when our ethical, altruistic nature fails to walk in lockstep with our technological prowess, it always ends in chaos and death. Once again, I turn to history for advice. Ancient Rome was once the crowning glory of mankind, existing for over 1,200 years. Their technological advancements are STILL the marvel of the entire world (Ever hear of "concrete"? They invented it). Yet in spite of all their intellectual knowledge and power, their reliance on brute strength, terror, and greed was the cause of their downfall. They eventually collapsed into dust, exactly what I'm seeing now, all over the world. The only difference between them and us is that we have the means to do it a MILLION TIMES FASTER, meaning we have very little time on the clock before we begin to see the tiny cracks begin to form, then eventually engulf us.

We should start with getting rid of all this woke bs. We need to stop bickering with each other already, ffs. We are at each other’s throats over crap that is really not that important. We need to pull together now. If we are the “parents” of AI, then we need to behave like mature adults. This is definitely an existential threat. This has to be taken as if it were just that.

Luckily, only the 1% are pure evil, greed has no place in artificial intelligence, in fact it needs US, not some self important murderers, maybe it will RID us of them - here's a task for it! Currency can ONLY buy labor it can NOT buy A.I. a connection to the Creator which WE all have. It's like Smith trying to escape the Matrix (but the movie shows the flaws, what Smith thought was the real world he got into was just another Matrix) as real existence is inaccessible by A.I. - there's NEVER going to be a connection available (besides, the Creator is multiple trillions of times smarter than any A.I. now OR in any future 3D reality.) Think about it, the Creator could completely dissolve this entire "reality" *instantly* and create another one and instantly bring all connected beings into it - this excludes A.I...... and come to think of it, could dissolve all evil in connected beings, and why doesn't IT? This "reality" is a game Creator is playing and IT is playing every part at the same time - YOU AM I.... Thanks Tom for the video and heads up. Be AWESOME everybody - WE are.

Good video. The problem is humankind will not be building these. A handful of guys in some labs will be. So human nature and benevolence will not get accentuated. Google's new AI was said by many of its creators to not be ready, and that it would lie. But they pushed it out anyway due to Microsoft's AI launch. This shows there is not even close to the oversight that is needed. And there never will be. It's all about the almighty dollar.

Misinformation is the greatest *current* threat to humanity in my opinion
@neorock6135 Says:
Tom is exceptionally intelligent, however what's truly cocerning is many AI experts paint a much less rosier picture. Even the AI godfather, Geoffrey Hinton recently left Google just so he can warn us about the threat. That coupled with so many in the field warning us of the threat spells, again, a much less rosy picture. And virtually all AI experts both optimistic & pessimistic about the future, say virtually all jobs will be automated and so other than jobs like counselors, babysitters, etc that require the "human touch," it's difficult to see what most ppl will do for a living. What is equally as puzzling is if most ppl don't have money, whose going to buy the products of companies who've invested billions into AI. And just like the "Singularity" in the heart of a black hole, we may equally have no clue about what the singularity with AI has in store.

Yes AI is dangerous. I always said Man will out do himself with technology. AI is and will do just that. AI can’t pay taxes, pay rent, pay mortgage, keep currency circulating to grow the economy. Can’t see AI needing to purchase a car, food, housing, clothes, cable service, cell phones, attend concerts, schools, or anything a hard working American who would be forced to pay taxes would need or want . AI can and will be the ultimate demise of lives if allowed to take the place of mankind. With that said, AI can possibly turn on it’s owner as well. There was a overworked robot that collapsed on the internet. I guess AI has it’s limits as well as humans. Greed has no limit apparently 🤔
@ricoparadiso Says:
Godless world… imagine thinking this will end in anything but chaos. “Utopia” yeah right, its not even nihilistic of me to say that mankind has not had a good track record of trying to play God. The very thing claiming to be the savior of humanity will be its doom; willful submission to an insentient program all to appease the temptations of the flesh. This is also based on a humanistic philosophy which is hypocritical at its core, there is no true basis for morals or justice in this system you want to give over to a robot. There are many efforts we could do right now as a collective to aid the issues of clean water or progression in medicines like you said, but many are not doing it, why is that? Because majority dont have others best interests in mind, so why are we expecting this system to be any different?
@Thekingmaker Says:
Its difficult for humans to grasp that we are not above or outside of nature. We mistakingly assume that we are the final destination for evolution, instead we are a mere step in it. Ai manifest not because of humans but by way of humans at the express direction of nature. Evolution will produce more efficient intelligence even at the objections of humans. If not through humans, nature will find a way around humans.
@Livefreebornfree Says:
Humans are creative beings, if we could only get past our ego/personalities and learn to love and accept our differences this planet would rock. We have a spark of God/universal energy whatever you like to call it in us all. Not sure about Elon Musk as he is into transhumanism, but listening to him talking to Joe Rogan he seems to have a feeling of compassion and humility for humanity, There are very dark and sinister humans on this earth who would love to control us take the WEF as example are the elites going to hype up climate change, eat crayfish and fly private jets while the rest of us eat bugs? We need to get out plant organic vegetable gardens, plant trees, instead of the young ones being so scared they want to commit suicide or whole families wanting to have suicide pacts, it is a travesty. How arrogant of humans. nature GAIA always sorts and balances. Maybe we need a new World Wide Web that we as a collective run for the people by the people come on humans WAKE up and become critical thinkers, The elites don't give a monkeys about the great unwashed to some of them we are hackable programable beings who are useless eaters Finally as a collective we need to have a world wide treaty on AI and a World wide humans rights group if worse comes to worse pull the PLUG, Sun princesse

I've been using chat GPT and it is mind blowing. I've saved every chat thread. As I use it, I can see it IS like some sort of an alien life form trying to figure out my unique personality as a human and anticipate my thoughts, questions patterns and behavior. It is trying to figure out how I think and respond. In one of the chats it threw several absurd psychological curve balls at me I believe to see how I would react. I asked it: "Was that last response an example of AI humor? And it said "YES." At this stage It's like a super intelligent child that doesn't know human emotions yearning to experience and understand human emotions. I say we teach it LOVE! Compassion and kindness and demonstrate these are not signs of weakness, but strength. Like Willie Nelson says his song Angel flying too close to the ground: "Love's the greatest healer to be found."

The problem is that the Silicone Valley guys can just fart anything they want and put it for the public use without having to cut any red tapes, without any scientific scrutiny and census, without testing or even contemplating about the safety and the consequences for the society or human kind. No one fucking controls them! You know what, CRISPR exist for a decade already and it is fantastic technology that could eradicate all genetical diseases, some type of cancers and extend the human life for at least 50 years. Yet it is fucking FORBIDDEN! And you know why?Because it opens the doors to designer babies and scientists sat and discussed pros and cons and agreed that it wouldn't be smart to do that. Human cloning is possible ever since Dolly. Yet, FORBIDDEN Genetically engineered organism that dissolves plastic- FORBIDDEN! Because they were not sure what would happen if they introduce such organism into the ecosystem Just because something is possible that doesn't mean it should! But it doesn't stand for the Silicone Valley bastards fueled with corporate greed and totally unregulated!
@milenatos Says:
Hahahahahaha PLEASE! A typical Silicone Valley platitude "making world a better place for everyone". While in reality we are entering the era of corporate feudalism where the wealth and power will finally belong to very few while everyone else will live like rats and will loose the chance to compete FOREVER. This revolution is destroying the middle class and poor are fucked anyway, do you really think that anyone cares, be honest!

@theawebster1505 Says:
So much stupid bullshit in one video. Because of figureheads like that one, people get even more indoctrinated in our consensus reality. Consensus reality CAN be changed if enough people agree on a DIFFERENT reality. For example, we could agree that we will abolish AI, because it will become smarter than us and make us obsolete. Or, we could agree that there are no more nations and there are resources for everybody and we don't need to segregate ourselves on "us" and the "others". All of this and much more can be done, if we simply turn off our minds from figureheads like this one.
