The difference between him and Mao couldn't be more conspicuous when you said that Mao died in a country near the brink of chaos and strife, while Deng died in his new high rise bldg in the cosmopolitan Chinese capital.. Wow it hit home

Now that Xi Jinping has declared himself, "unmovable," and "unstoppable," he is wide open to a challenger. China will have two Presidents in the near future because of this. Together they will agree on how to invade Taiwan. Xi doesn't have the answers, power or authority to do so.

Deng was dead. Xi is reviving Mao's communist closed controlled economic China not Deng's open market economic China. China is doomed.

@FlatEarthTruth611 Says:
He made China into a much better country then it would have been if the batshit crazy 'gang of four' had kept running the country. He implemented some much needed market reforms that helped uplift the Chinese people without going full Neo-Liberal and retarded like what the west was doing with 'Reganomics' and 'Thatcherism' at the time.

@kiriseraph9674 Says:
Deng: Poverty is not socialism. To uphold socialism, a socialism that is to be superior to capitalism, it is imperative first and foremost to eliminate poverty. True, we are building socialism, but that doesn’t mean that what we have achieved so far is up to the socialist standard. Not until the middle of the next century, when we have reached the level of the moderately developed countries, shall we be able to say that we have really built socialism and to declare convincingly that it is superior to capitalism. We are advancing towards that goal.

As a Chinese, I disagree with you in many many places. As a self-media, you only want your traffic. After casually reading some distorted articles and reports, then unashamedly expressed opinions that do not conform to reality. disgusting
@NguyenTran-mf9gj Says:
Image Deng Xiao Ping was the leader of China from the very beginning instead of Mao then China would be much stronger and had opened to the world much sooner and those catastrophy events like "The Great Leap Forward" and "The Culture revolution" would never happened.
@WINDYCHUNG Says:
When Deng took power in 1978, the GDP per capita of China ranked top 5 from the bottom, extremely poor. But today, we become the biggest competitor seen by the USA, this is incredible, we should always remember and implement the policies designed by Deng. Being quiet and always humble in the world.

@v0lk_samoyed Says:

@raymondhartmeijer9300 Says:
It's a bit cheap to always put emphasis on future Communist leaders as "coming from 'Middle class'", well yeah, because in most of those countries, workers and peasants couldn't even read. They did not get proper education in those former regimes, so it's no wonder the people who were able to actually study political and economic theory, were Middle- or Upper class. Once in power, they made a point to end illitaracy and educate the people as major part of the revolution.
@brightfrost Says:
Why can't westerners tell the history of another non-western country without a condescending tone?
@TranNguyen-qw6ep Says:
Deng is a great leader for China but he caused harm to us Vietnamese. Vietnam back then intended to form a federation consists of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia under our rules. We put a puppet gorvernment in Laos and was doing the same with Cambodia but we didn't expact Pol Pot turned out to be a psychopath. So, we removed him and put a more Vietnam-friendly gorvernment in Cambodia instead so we can finally unite all 3 country. But then China attacked us and the US sanctioned us just because we wanted to expand our territory and be more united. Vietnam could have been a dominant power in the region if China and US didn't screw things up. What a shame 😔😔.
@philp7353 Says:
To be totally honest I think that Deng may have been right about democracy. Democracy seems be incredibly hard to do right and possibly doomed no matter how hard you try. America has made it about 250 years but that's not a long time by historical standards and we're really struggling to make it work and it still doesn't work super well though still better than most other systems. China's authoritarianism does seem to work decently for them, we'll see which way works better in time.
@user-nb8xo4be9i Says:
Why do foreigners (for Chinese people) think Deng Xiaoping is great?You should learn more about China's history from the 1950s to the 1990s. Deng Xiaoping is the right-wing, and the workers are expected to hate him and let China move from socialism to capitalism
