Jesus was an observant Jew. He kept the Sabbath and read scrolls in the synagogue on the Sabbath as was his custom. If Jesus kept the Sabbath, so should we.

False!! Paul was referring to the pagans who were judging and persecuting the followers of Messiah. Yeshua said in Matt 5:17, he did not come to abolish the law. No scripture supports this guy.
@derrickdonsumingwa6017 Says:
Where in the scripture say that the Sabbath is already been fulfilled?
@doubleedgesword3977 Says:
Christians are not under the Law and are not required to observe the Sabbath. God never said the Sabbath was on Saturday anyway! He simply said "you shall work six days and rest on the 7th day". The Hebrew calendar has no days of the week such as Sun, Mon etc. The Babalonians actually established Saturday as the 7th day of the Week and the Jews later adopted the days of the week from them and not God! Biblically speaking your Sabbath ( day of Rest) can be any day of the week! However, we as Christians are not under the Law of the Sabbath! As Jesus is our Rest or continual Sabbath or state of Rest! Amen 🙏

They just make up meanings as they go. Who understood that that way in biblical history. No one, this is latter church theology. People are still thinking incorrectly that Christianity is a separate religion from Judaism. It’s not. Jesus was sent to the children of Israel, the Jews. To fulfill the law not change it. Now you rely on the doctrines of men and have forgotten the teachings of Jesus this being astray and leading others astray. Bring one early Christian scholar not of pagan descent who understood this concept the way he’s describing it. You won’t find one. The early followers did keep the sabbath and the Christian’s in Nazareth till this day keep the sabbath.

Where in scripture does it say the Sabbath was fulfilled. God hallowed the seventh day, made it holy and holy means separate. Where did God unhallowed the seventh day?
@melaniebarbaro318 Says:
He is using an analogy to explain but there is no scripture to back his proof. Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbath. The Sabbath was changed to Sunday by Catholicism and they admit it themselves. They say it is the mark of their authority. Jesus said without me you can do nothing and that's how we rest in Christ.

@michellejefferson9232 Says:
Perhaps the boldest thing, the most revolutionary change the Church ever did, happened in the first century. The holy day, the Sabbath, was changed from Saturday to Sunday. "The Day of the Lord" (dies Dominica) was chosen, not from any directions noted in the Scriptures, but from the Church's sense of its own power. The day of resurrection, the day of Pentecost, fifty days later, came on the first day of the week. So this would be the new Sabbath. People who think that the Scriptures should be the sole authority, should logically become 7th Day Adventists, and keep Saturday holy. —Sentinel, Pastor's page, Saint Catherine Catholic Church, Algonac, Michigan, May 21, 1995
@michellejefferson9232 Says:
If Protestants would follow the Bible, they would worship God on the Sabbath Day. In keeping the Sunday they are following a law of the Catholic Church. —Albert Smith, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, replying for the Cardinal, in a letter dated February 10, 1920. The [Roman Catholic] Church changed the observance of the Sabbath to Sunday by right of the divine, infallible authority given to her by her founder, Jesus Christ. The Protestant claiming the Bible to be the only guide of faith, has no warrant for observing Sunday. In this matter the Seventh-day Adventist is the only consistent Protestant. —The Catholic Universe Bulletin, August 14, 1942, p. 4.

@bobbyidk5751 Says:
Colossians goes on to see these are based on humam traditions, Sabbath is of God so that passage is out of context. Its talking about being judged by Rabbi Laws as there were messianic Jews with Judaism. Also, The Sabbath Day, the 7th day, is commanded to the kept forever. The 7th day forever. Exodus 31:16 Therefore the people of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, observing the Sabbath throughout their generations, as a covenant forever. Exodus 31:16 says THE Sabbath, so it is the Sabbath Day, Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. So this day, 7th day, is to be kept forever. Anything else then this would be breaking this command. So the passage in Hebrews by Paul must not be about THE Sabbath day because they would contradict. If the Sabbath was everyday, it outrights contradict this command of resting on the 7th day forever. So it cannot be that, so we must continue to seek to understand. The passage on which Paul speaks on is about spiritual REST, the spiritual completion found in Christ. That is why Paul compared the REST Joshua gave compare to the one Jesus GAVE. Joshua gave the Israelites the rest of the promised land, because before that they were constantly wondering (I emphasised what Joshua gave, Israel). This isnt about The Sabbath day that God gave, because the Sabbath was around before Joshua. So it doesn't fit to be talking about the sabbath Day, as the rest that Joshua gave, as it doesnt align with Scripture. So the rest Joshua gave, was not the Sabbath day rest, but the rest of Israel being given the promise land. This bit i just spoke is really important, Joshua didnt give the Sabbath day, so why would Paul be speaking about the Sabbath that Joshua gave? Thats not Scriptual and Paul would be contradicting Exodus 31:16. So what Joshua gave, and what Paul is comparing to what Jesus have, is not the Sabbath Day. It is talking about the land of which Joshua gave to the Israelites (to be settled in Israel) compared to the rest given by Christ, spiritual rest and completion. Permanent rest. Land doesnt save you, Christ does. Land has wars and difficulties, but this things are not in heaven. This is what this passage is speaking about.. To say otherwise contradicts Scripture! Joshua's rest was the promised land, but that was physical. Jesus gives us the Father and his kingdom, that is spiritual and everlasting. It is the same transition from the Law being written on the flesh to the heart. Physical to Spiritual. Remember how Jesus said: Matthew 11:28-30 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Paul is comparing Joshua's rest of land, compared to the rest found in Christ. Physical vs everlasting spiritual. As I said before, it contradicts Exodus 31:16 and dosnt make sense nor does it aligns at all to mention Joshua and his rest if it was talking about the Sabbath Day, because Joshua didnt give the Sabbath day. It was before him. Let us be Bereans and examine and test.

Wrong. In order to assimilate Christianity and paganism to coexist peacefully, the Catholic Church adopted pagan traditions like worshipping on the day of the sun, winter solstice/Christmas, etc

‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:4‭-‬9‬ ‭KJV‬ [4] For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. [5] And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. [6] Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: [7] again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts. [8] For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. [9] There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
@b3nd0_ver86 Says:
Let’s debunk this verse. Colossians 2:16-17 “Let no one, then, judge you in eating or in drinking, or in respect of a feast, or of a new moon, or of sabbaths,” Very important thing that this pastor missed. In the Greek test, the word for sabbath is “σαββάτων”. They key thing to note here is that this word is plural. So Paul is not saying that you shouldn’t be judged on The Sabbath (of the lord.) What is Sabbaths referring to? “High Sabbaths, in most Christian and Messianic Jewish usage, are seven annual biblical festivals and rest days, recorded in the books of Leviticus and Deuteronomy.[1][2][3] This is an extension of the term "high day" found in the King James Version at John 19:31.” Sabbaths here refers to the 7 festivals Moses told his people in Leviticus 23 The word Sabbaths is also explicitly mentioned in Isaiah 1:13 and Lamentations 2:6 Paul is saying that we shouldn’t worry about celebrating the holy days of Moses. Days like the Passover. Do Christians celebrate the Passover? Not many if any do. The Bible warns us that the devil will try to change times and laws “And he shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change times and laws; and they shall be given into his hand until a time, and times, and the dividing of time.” (Daniel 7:25) Notice this important message. The Sabbath of the lord, also known as Saturday, is the day that Satan is attacking and changing. God states in Ezekiel 20:12 “And I gave them my Sabbath days of rest as a sign between them and me. It was to remind them that I am the LORD, who had set them apart to be holy.” “It was while John was in the Spirit on the "Lord's day," that he saw the ark of God's testament in heaven. (See Revelation II :19 ; 15:5.) Thus the commandments of God are exalted before the apostle's vision. These Scriptures refute the teaching that the decalogue was abolished at the cross sixty years before. They do more than this, they show which day is the Lord's day—it is the seventh day, commanded in the law deposited in the ark. After the vision of the ark of the testament, John was shown that God's remnant people would keep the commandments of God. (See Revelation 12 :17; 14:12; 22 :14.) But this is not all, for in his epistles he writes much more on commandment keeping. 'One old Christian, who accepted the Sabbath after fifty years of Sunday observance in nominal Protestant churches, once remarked, "The epistles of John are full of love and commandment keeping." It was Mrs. E. G. White's vision of the law of God exalted in heaven, which attracted her attention to the Sabbath and dispelled her doubts on Sabbathkeeping. I have read practically everything ever written by our writers on the law and the Sabbath, and I have scarcely seen a word on Sabbathkeeping taken from this great text, Revelation 11:19, in which John says he saw the ark of God's testament in heaven. But it appears to be, from the following standpoints, a strong argument for Sabbath observance. 1. It proves that the cross did not abolish the ten commandments. 2. It proves that the "Lord's Day" is the day defined in the fourth commandment as the "Sabbath of the Lord." 3. It proves that the commandments observed by the remnant are the ten commandments. 4. It proves that sin, which is the transgression of the law, is the transgression of the law John saw in heaven. (See I John 3:4.) 5. It supplements and enhances the Sabbath arguments of Daniel 7:25. The many references to commandment keeping in John's writings indicate that there were in his day controversies regarding the necessity for obedience to God's law. Then, as now, Paul's writings were wrested (2 Peter 3:16) to justify violation of God's law. It is evident that John was directed by the Spirit to, bear a firm testimony on commandment keeping. By the rule of arrangement of strong arguments, the conclusion should set forth in emphasis the things most important. Hence it is manifest that the great object of the gospel is to empower men to keep and to obey God's commandments—His unchangeable law. I have witnessed good results produced by emphasizing Revelation 11:19. There is no doubt that this text greatly influenced Mrs. E. G. White and helped her to see the importance of Sabbath observance.” Ellen white also quotes “The Sabbath was not for Israel merely, but for the world. It had been made known to man in Eden, and, like the other precepts of the Decalogue, it is of imperishable obligation. Of that law of which the fourth commandment forms a part, Christ declares, "Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in nowise pass from the law." So long as the heavens and the earth endure, the Sabbath will continue as a sign of the Creator's power. And when Eden shall bloom on earth again, God's holy rest day will be honored by all beneath the sun. "From one Sabbath to another" the inhabitants of the glorified new earth shall go up "to worship before Me, saith the Lord." Matthew 5:18; Isaiah 66:23. As the Jews departed from God, and failed to make the righteousness of Christ their own by faith, the Sabbath lost its significance to them. Satan was seeking to exalt himself and to draw men away from Christ, and he worked to pervert the Sabbath, because it is the sign of the [284] power of Christ. The Jewish leaders accomplished the will of Satan by surrounding God's rest day with burdensome requirements. In the days of Christ the Sabbath had become so perverted that its observance reflected the character of selfish and arbitrary men rather than the character of the loving heavenly Father. The rabbis virtually represented God as giving laws which it was impossible for men to obey. They led the people to look upon God as a tyrant, and to think that the observance of the Sabbath, as He required it, made men hard-hearted and cruel. It was the work of Christ to clear away these misconceptions. Although the rabbis followed Him with merciless hostility, He did not even appear to conform to their requirements, but went straight forward, keeping the Sabbath according to the law of God. Those who hold that Christ abolished the law teach that He broke the Sabbath and justified His disciples in doing the same. Thus they are really taking the same ground as did the caviling Jews. In this they contradict the testimony of Christ Himself, who declared, "I have kept My Father's commandments, and abide in His love." John 15:10. Neither the Saviour nor His followers broke the law of the Sabbath. Christ was a living representative of the law. No violation of its holy precepts was found in His life. Looking upon a nation of witnesses who were seeking occasion to condemn Him, He could say unchallenged, "Which of you convicteth Me of sin?" John 8:46, R. V. By observing the true Sabbath Christians are ever to bear to the world faithful witness of their knowledge of the true and living God as distinguished from all false gods, for the Lord of the Sabbath is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the One exalted above all other gods. The Importance and Glory of the Sabbath—Yesterday [August 10, 1851], which was Sabbath, we had a sweet, glorious time. The Lord met with us and the glory of God was shed upon us and we were made to rejoice and glorify God for His exceeding goodness unto us.... I was taken off in vision.... 3SM 260.2 I saw that we sensed and realized but little of the importance of the Sabbath, to what we yet should realize and know of its importance and glory. I saw we knew not what it was yet to ride upon the high places of the earth and to be fed with the heritage of Jacob. But when the refreshing and latter rain shall come from the presence of the Lord and the glory of His power we shall know what it is to be fed with the heritage of Jacob and ride upon the high places of the earth. Then shall we see the Sabbath more in its importance and glory. But we shall not see it in all its glory and importance until the covenant of peace is made with us at the voice of God, and the pearly gates of the New Jerusalem are thrown open and swing back on their glittering hinges and the glad and joyful voice of the lovely Jesus is heard richer than any music that ever fell on mortal ear bidding us enter. [I saw] that we had a perfect right in the city for we had kept the commandments of God, and heaven, sweet heaven is our home, for we have kept the commandments of God.—Letter 3, 1851. 3SM 260.3” Odd how the only commandment people wish to forget is the one that God said to remember. People, do not be deceived, and listen to the word of God. May the Lord bless us with a spirit of understanding and obedience! Amen

If you study the bible on this subject. Keep on eye open when they meet too. Sabbath is Saturday according to the Bible times. That's the Jewish way. They met Saturday to read the scrolls. But watch what happens afterward in the bible, usually some believe, and some didn't believe. So the next day (Sunday), they would meet again for those who believed and wanted to hear more. Don't buy into the theory that Sunday is some sun god made up by romans... Christians met the next day after Sabbath for those who wanted to hear more a few times in the Bible. But no, it was not all of a sudden some holy rest day.
