The latter-day saints don't "earn grace" by keeping the commandments... Living the commandments and becoming more righteous is actually living salvation. We receive Christ's grace when we place our faith in Christ and are then baptized, which then saves us so that we can live a righteous life.

To think Jesus is going to save you in your sins is a mockery of the laws of God. He is here to save you from your sins.
