There's no evidence that Jesus went anywhere immediately after He died. 1 Peter 3 says that Jesus made proclamations to the imprisoned spirits after he was made alive. Jesus rose from the dead on the third day, not before. If he was alive when he was dead then rising from the dead wouldn't be a thing.

This is very unbiblical teaching. You misunderstood Peter completely. It's referencing a time of Noah preaching before the flood and Spirit of God that inspired Noah. There is zero people in Sheol that you can preach to. They are dead, awaiting resurrection. All of them. So was Jesus when He died. That's how much He sacrificed - He died for you. Not left His body and carried on after. His spirit went to the hands of the Father yet after the resurrection He said He wasn't there yet. So was it Him that left the body or ruach/breath of life?

Because the people in hell were the faithful of Israel before the gates of hell were broken. They were in Abraham's bosom (Luke 16:19-31) awaiting Jesus. When he died he descended into hell (1 Peter 3:18-20), preached to the saints of the Old Testament (Matthew 27:52, Hebrews 12:23, 1 Peter 3:18-20). In 1 peter it is talking about the spirit by which God preach to the souls that are in prison. It does not necessarily implies he preached them in prison, but that he preached to the souls, people, Nephesh, that are in prison.
Lazarus and rich man is parable, and were sarcastic one actually. Don't take it literally, it should not be, learn the context of time and the situaction that Jesus said that parable. It was actually Pharisees that believed there was this place, the Abraham's bosom, but, bosom means like...lap. So how many souls can he hold? Jesus makes laugh out of their perverted theology

His arrival there preached to those on the other side (Hell), and heralded great news for those he spent time with in paradise with believers of OT. Likely said what he shared was same as the 2 on Eramaus road. And that when he rises, these ones will come out "the grave" and be seen by those in town and those they know... as another sign at the resurrection of Christ, to tell others & as to accompany the Resurrection. Then when he ascended he took the captives to Heaven. And are now in Heaven in Jesus/Father's presence. If one reads the various puzzle pieces in Scripture. If he was 3 days in hell where people are in torment then he could not be where he said the thief on the cross would be with him this day. Which was paradise . You can debate what paradise is but it's pretty clear that hell fire is not a paradise.
Paradise and Abrahams bosom are synonymous, at least in the fact that both places are not places of torment and All the old patriarchs went to a place of peace and joy not torment. The point of the rich man and lazurous was that while on earth the beggar who sat at his gate needing help and only the dogs gave him any kind of help , so both die and the rich greedy holier than thou rich man is now crying for the same thing the poor man did on earth..water for relief but just as he refused the poor sick beggard simple basic needs , he receives no mercy , not one drop .

I wish Frank would have expounded on this more because it's a good question. He failed to give a complete answer to. (or maybe he did and the video cuts that out).
To understand this, we have to look at Genesis.
From the book of Genesis, we know that Noah was a righteous man in a corrupt word. God was to destroy the world and calls Noah to make an ark for himself, his wife, their 3 sons and his 3 daughter in laws. 8 people total. God was to destroy the world with water. God promises that he would never destroy the world again through water. This was the new covenent.
Frank is correct that 1 Peter 3:19 does not say that Jesus saved 8 souls and brought them to heaven but instead, it eludes back to the days of Noah. In verse 19, " After being alive ( in the spirit), he (Jesus) went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits..." (BTW.. 1 Peter 3 does NOT say that Jesus went to hell. All it says t that he made his spirit known to the souls imprisoned). The bible doesn't say exactly what he proclaimed but it could have been to announced himself as the Son of Man, The King and beating death. Cannot say for certain.

In verse 1 Peter 3:20, " ... to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being build. In "IT" ("IT" as in the Ark, not hell), only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water". The 8, as mentioned above - Noah, Wife, Son and their 3 wives, not 8 people from hell.
The saved through water is symbolic. It was water that killed the unrighteous during days of Noah and it is water that will save the sinner - through baptism. (see 1 Peter 3:21)
So to answer her question, there is no coming back from hell. Doing so is to say that God's judgement was a mistake, wrong or unfair and God can never be wrong. He is perfect and perfectly good. Frank should have also corrected her on Jesus going to hell for 3 days. Totally false.

To the Catholic Church in the old days Sheol/Hades was a great way to make money by changing it's name to purgatory. Jesus spoke of Lazarus and The Rich man.... where Lazarus went to Paradise where he was in peace with Abraham, and the Rich man went to Torment for his treatment of Lazarus. So to the Catholic Church you'd do well to remove "purgatory" from your theology. It's a lie. YOU KNOW IT. That goes along with the Apostles Creed that says that Jesus went to Hell for 3 days. The terminology of Hell is.... WHAT in the Greek language? "Gehenna", or in the Hebrew tongue "Gehinnom", which is the abode of the damned in the afterlife. Now in 1 Peter 4:6 it states that.... "good tidings were proclaimed to the dead", and in Ephesians 4:9 "[Christ] descended into the lower parts of the earth". Guys and gals.... that's Sheol; that's Paradise. For some reason Hades has been confused way over top in the Bible as to it's meaning; however..... Hades was used to signify Hell (occasionally), but again Jesus said he'd be with the thief in Paradise....
This means Jesus was in Paradise preaching to the people there who obviously didn't know him to be saved by the Messiah, and yet they awaited his coming. How do I know this? Isn't it obvious the person of Yeshua Ha Machiach in the Old Testament is Jesus Christ? So.... Jesus went to Paradise to preach to the faithful servants of God who HAD to meet him. Remember.... no one comes to The Father but by Jesus. Jesus meant NO ONE. Do you see?
On a final note realize the question as to why we'd need a resurrection if we automatically went to Heaven. So.... IF your loved ones have died and were servants of the most high..... they're not in Heaven. They're not looking down on you smiling like George Carlin scoffed at. It's interesting how the atheist claims to know so much about The Bible and yet they sound foolish when they speak about it. I know.... I used to be an Atheist who knew all about the Bible, too. When OT saints died, they were gathered to their people (Deuteronomy 32:50)

From the incident of Lazarus and Rich man, we know that there is a chasm that separates the saints and the sinners in Sheol. The saints go to Abraham's bosom or Paradise (it was called so as Abraham was the most prominent saint in the OT). The sinners go to Hades ( Luke 16)
Even the most devout OT saints were captive to the fear of death (Heb 2:14-15, 1 King's 1: 1-3)
When Christ said the words tetelestai (meaning it is finished) on the cross, He proclaimed that the plan of salvation of mankind is finished. (Jn 19:30)
Christ was with that brother (former thief) who got saved in the cross in Paradise (Luke 23:43)
OT saints died in hope of the Messiah and they must have been awaiting the proclamation of the redemption
Christ proclaimed the good news in Spirit to the OT saints in Paradise. (1 Peter 3 18-19). Can't imagine how excited they must have been.
He then carried them up to 'High' all these OT saints who were His captives (captive to the fear of death) (Eph 4:8, Ps 68:18)
Now in New Testament times, anyone who dies in Christ will go straight to where Christ is. (Phil 1:23)
The one who got to get this unbelievable privilege was the thief on the cross. Shows the depth of God's grace.
The wicked still go to the place of torment or Hades. But it's reasonable to think that OT saints and NT saints are having fellowship in the spirit with Christ.

The word preach also means to proclaim.
Jesus proclaimed His victory upon the Cross for our sins to the “spirits in prison”.
The spirits of course are in wicked Genesis 6:4-5.
Since the unbelievers mocked Noah and didn’t repent of their sins and drowned in the Flood ended up in the prison.
They cannot repent of sin anymore or be saved!
Prison is Hades from Luke 16 because “which were sometime DISOBEDIENT”
The spirits of those who die now in their sins without Jesus Christ go to Hades and await the Great White Throne Judgment.
