Abigail asked Phoebe and Phoebe's new husband to stay at their house while she and Nabby went to visit John and John Quincy in France .
@McCarthy1776 Says:
I find it hilarious when Republicans say Melania was the greatest first lady and Democrats say Michelle. Shallow sighted uneducated modern Americans...
@lynnrogersma79 Says:
I knew these people, please pronounce their names correctly. It’s KEEEZEY not KACEY, EEDIE not EDDIE. Otherwise cool broadcast. Check out the just published Tripping with a Viper by Anne Marie Maxwell just out last week published under Sparring with Beatnik Ghosts.

We say it quinzy
@bretwebster6266 Says:
Abigail Adams stands as one of the great people of her time frame. She herself had a political viewpoint that has stood the test of time. Well done. Thank you.
@MoThePro947 Says:
Don't we all despise AP Language and Composition
@tommycochran1019 Says:
Fun fact: She was homeschooled most of her life because in her youth she was sickly. Because of her fathers status she had access to countless books, and like her husband was an avid reader.
@jimtrack3786 Says:
Hold on Simon! When John embarked to France on the Boston, he took along John Quincy only and not Charles. This at least is my understanding based on David McCullough's book, "John Adams" Who is right here? Charles, as I understood remained with Abigail and later tutors when Abigail left to join John in France.
@eliseleonard3477 Says:
Barbara Bush was also the wife of a president and the mother of another. Not that Abigail wasn’t singular 😎
@032319581 Says:
Fabulous woman!!!!
@nathangrindle1645 Says:
Fun fact, Braintree still actually exists! Quincy simply broke off and formed its own town and the two towns largely view each other roughly the same way New Yorkers and Bostonians view one another. This coming from a lifetime Braintree resident!
@h80096 Says:
Back when vaccination carried a small risk of death. Times have certainly not changed
@semiretired86 Says:
video on Lady Bird Johnson if it wasn't for her the Civil rights act of 1964 (signed in 65) her husband President Lyndon Baines Johnson was against it or at least not confortable with it
@stephaniehibbert7335 Says:
The ads are ridiculous I don’t mind a couple hear and there but legit there has ben like 8 ads in a 20 min video that’s ridiculous
@Hamzakhan-dt3gv Says:
Interesting biography

I had to check to see if I'd missed a Dolly Madison Biographics
@jacobjones5269 Says:
She’s my absolute favorite founder.. What a woman..
@eliotvishnevsky5019 Says:
Since you did a video on John Quincy Adams and his mom, Abigail Adams, you should do a video on his dad, John Adams.
@reddhead2948 Says:
I want a biographics on The Swedish chef
@SuperPGaming Says:
I mean at least he helped the West during the Cold War. That's the only good thing I can save of him
@ashh8019 Says:
I had no idea that John and Abigail lost a son to alcoholism. I’m 31 and almost a year sober from drink now and wasn’t expecting a reminder like that in a video like this. Usually I’m just thankful for Simon and the content but was a little extra for me personally. It’s a reminder that I’m happy to be alive and sober today. Thanks.

@phcusnret Says:
Really? Imagine that. The press trying to influence politics.
@TheItalianTrash Says:
Isn't the climate of Philly and NYC nearly identical with Philly being 1-2 degrees warmer. I don't see why only Philly greatly affected her health.
@SatansSimgma Says:
She was a real jerk. Both her and her husband self perceived superiority were legand. They both penned enough letters were you know who they are. We take alot for granted. If Adam's would have had his way America would resemble the town from footloose. Thier stance on slavery was displayed more as way to claim the moral highground but actually doing anything about it? These people would not spit on you if you were on fire.
@launiesoult2133 Says:
The declaration of independence is a policy it says all people are created = that means women blacks Chinese Everybody Indians
@unfortdork Says:
Thank you!! I read her letters and studied her a bit in college. She was an amazing woman!! Especially found her account of making bullets for the revolution with her children fascinating.
@shanagamble2937 Says:

@johnblackhead2384 Says:
I’m surprised that you misinterpreted the remember the ladies letter. She was talking about giving wives more independence from their husbands. At the time, women were considered property of their husbands. That’s what the letter was about.
@prettyfunkgirl Says:
YES!!! Thank you for covering her <3
@lorahassani7728 Says:
Great story. I would love to see more episodes on notable women in history. Some possible stories: Shirley Chisholm, Sally Ride, Sandra Day O'Connor, Kathleen Blanco, Michelle Howard, Madam C. J. Walker, and Katharine Graham (publisher).
@paman8428 Says:
Simon could you please do a biographics Nathan Hale
@eliast2351 Says:
2:28 One of the birth dates must be wrong, because the 2 calendars have a difference of 13 days.
@GrievousReborn Says:
Speaking of her are you ever going to cover her husband here on this channel?
@twilightgryphon Says:
For those who haven't seen it, cannot recommend the HBO miniseries of John Adams highly enough. It had top notch casting for all the historical figures depicted in it, including Laura Linney's portrayal of the woman herself, Abigail Adams.
@anamkarajoy Says:
Especially enjoyed this one, and didn’t know most of her story previously. Well done, and thank you!
@andiward7068 Says:
The Alien & Sedition act was the original Homeland Security Act.
@SkoomaAbuser Says:
Been listening to these from the beginning again in podcast format. Just finished Dwanye "The Rock" Johnsons'. We need a Stone Cold Steve Austin!
@ironwoodification Says:
I'd love to see one of these on John Sevier. They tried to make him a king of Tennessee and he insulted and dueled Andrew Jackson. If that wasn't enough to be interesting, I don't know what to do.
@JDWanko Says:
You know, it never surprises but always disappoints me how when it comes to historical figures (or certain historical figures), something that quacks and waddles and swims and flies can't be called a duck. Abigail Adams was an asshole; self-righteous, arrogant and disaffected. Simon's desire to dance around or justify this is not uncommon but disappointing.
@sergeshabani4019 Says:
Great video as always. Could you do one on Talleyrand pls!!!
@guidorotunda1321 Says:
I would like to see do one on the 18th dynasty of ancient Egypt I think it was its greatest dynasty & it gave big names like Hatshepsut, Thutmose III, Amenhotep III, Akhenaten, Nefertiti, & Tutankhamun
@TheOneBadAssGamer Says:
Jefferson was a better president.

Whistler has an ego bigger than a planet. He is on his videos 80% of the time when viewers want to learn about the topic!
@villain68 Says:
I'm a bit confused. It was stated James Madison was a Democrat- Republican. But Madison helped write the Federalist Papers. Can somebody clear this up?
@ethanfrancis2481 Says:
This will likely be buried in the comments, but Hans Von Luck is a fascinating man. He served in many famous theaters in the war and a short list of his record are Pegasus Bridge, Operation Goodwood, among many others.
