Anyways, from a Xenoblade Noob who has not played XC1 or XC2, but has about 60 hours in XCX DE, and ~5 hours in XC3, XC3 is... ehhhh? The combat isnt quite as fun. X really nails how using arts feels, and they're actually useful for combos to get into new positions quickly. XC3 is just kinda. Auto attack. Arts button. Chain sometimes which is just select a buff from menu and hit buttons. Walk very slowly around your enemy to change position. But X? Sliding slinger into a side slash or melee art is a GOATED combo and I will not be taking criticisms.
Also damn if the 3 years between XC3 and XCXDE didnt improve the graphics spectacularly. The character models in X during those pseudo cutscenes with the text boxes? Sometimes the background is high(er) res and the characters are grainy as hell, sometimes the background AND the characters are grainy as hell. XCXDE doesnt have the best of the best, highest fidelity ever graphics, but at least I dont feel like I need to take whoever did the resolution to an optometrist so they could see just how blurry things are in XC3. If the characters were always in focus, I wouldnt even mind, but they arent, and they're supposed to be the focal point in these pseudo-cutscenes!
Also, the XC3 characters have a piss poor jump and half the time if I try to climb something they jitter around like its Skyrim. I half expect them to just catapult into the skybox.
Idk about the story much, yet. I do think Taion is as smart as the person writing him **pause for comedic effect** but Noah, Mio, and Lanz are interesting, at least a bit.
"Look at this rare doodah!" And "hear that, Noah? Lanz wants somethin a bit meatier!" Are the reasons I have my audio set to Japanese. I can ignore it the constant yap and anything relevant that they say gets subtitles.

that ending wasn't really necessary. I think if it was taken out, then this video would've stayed perfectly fine and fun. But with the section, you basically have to be careful in case someone is considering playing it. It feels really mean spirited.
