I come back to this when I need a pick me up. Laufey!!!!
@D34DW4T3R Says:
Why does every name end with nir? Nir what? Gay? Still can't wait for him to review GOW house wife after they showed it yesterday 😂😂 it looks easy and too many DEI colors in it. Anyway on to lords of the fallen
@D34DW4T3R Says:
Games with multiple series should never make you start your character anew. It should carry over from the last game. If they can do it with consoles. They can do it with games and choose not to. I've seen them do it with one game but I can't remember which game series it was
@waste7910-e5a Says:
You can always count on Dunkey to praise mediocre stories with great presentation and high budgets.
@enigma____1395 Says:
Dunkey I waited until this year to purchase this game, as I was raised by a less well off family so my father taught me to wait until a game dropped in price before buying. I beat gow 2018 maybe 5 years ago after my dad got it for me for about 15 dollars. And since 2022 I waited until about 2 weeks ago in mid April when I was able to purchase it at 30 dollars (still more than I wanted to spend but I waited long enough). It might have been the most moving game I've ever played. And since I am also advent on avoiding spoilers I had not watched your video. But I just beat the game and your video came across my recommend and you said everything I thought about the game, every compliment and observation. I did tear up near the end of the game.
@triplechocolate887 Says:
Saved this video for when I would be done Ragnarok. Happy to say, all these years later, I finally played and beat that game. Time to finally see what Dunky had to say
@Lhulili Says:
this game complete ass

So we all did the chime parts till the end of the squirrel's patience
@angusyoung19 Says:
I love Dunkey and of course I’m rewatching this.
Lava Lava Island is not what that level is called in Mario 64. Its Lethal Lava Land. But, like, he still wasn’t wrong technically
@angusyoung19 Says:
I don’t think bro knew how much he cooked when he said this is God of War 2 AND 3. Story-wise, that is spot-fucking-on
@clubstoic Says:
Beautiful looking game. Can't knock the aesthetics. But the weak points Dunkey mentioned were really glaring to me and eventually stopped me finishing the game.
Unlike 2018 GOW, the object of the story just isn't strongly defined enough. There didn't seem to be much of an end goal or ticking clock. The characters seem to mostly just sit around in the kitchen until someone says: "You know what, there's some dude who went missing up in the impenetrable mountains decades ago. I don't know if he's even alive any more. But I have a hunch if we find him, he'll be able to tell us about what we're actually meant to be doing in this game. Either that or he can just sit around in the kitchen with us".
Traversal is the other big problem. Paddling a boat isn't especially hard. But steering it correctly takes up juuuuust enough of my concentration to distract from the expository dialogue taking place. This led to some serious bafflement when a key scene harked back to a conversation I'd had several hours before while scaling a giant wall of ice.
I found the pacing uneven (I've got to stop everything to help feed a giant donkey for 15 minutes?!)
The combat was also repetitive. The rhythm of the enemy encounters became too predictable in a "walk along... oh look grunts! TAP TAP TAP... walk along some more... oh for real, more grunts!" kinda way, that they eventually became more of a hindrance than a challenge.
As for exploration, too often I'd be puzzling over how to cleverly reach an apparently unreachable item only to find that the "solution" is to walk a little further into the level and easily reach it from there. Nothing to figure out, just move forward.
But when the game really did throw a puzzle at me (and I really hope they've fixed this because it was the single most annoying thing about the game) I'd have an NPC telling me the solution before I'd even clapped eyes on it.
So yes, dazzling graphics, superb acting, wonderful stuff. But that's not a game - that's a playable movie. I see that being thrown at all sorts of games. But in defence of things like Death Stranding: That is a full-on game with a 2-hour movie folded into it. Ragnarok is like an overlong Netflix series that you have to pause every few minutes to hammer some buttons.
@jaketaz2848 Says:
Most impressive thing about this game to me is how many people absolutely love it and how many awards it got, despite the fact that you barely get to play any of the game
@CTDProphet Says:
5:37 serious dunky videos are always so good. The way he uses music and scenes to explain his point always gives me goosebumps
@turtelbro1123 Says:
Who’s here after trilogy remake?
@Felixphaeton Says:
If you didn't drumroll on Ratatoskr's chimes until you cycled through all of his dialogue, did you even play the game?

In the (Part III) end, Kratos might kill Loki
@_kuruptkonvik_2059 Says:
Peak game 10/10
@Tipsy92 Says:
Another mass appeal reviewer, it is not a good game whatsoever. Ur fighting a bear in the intro: 10/10 game lmfao.
I bought God Of War and i'm playing as a fucking kid picking apples on a cow for 1.5h which is the good part since the combat sucks, answers to puzzles immediatly get told, and the camera is still fckn trash which makes you look at little stupid arrows
@Crowbar402 Says:
This is the most boring game I have ever played. Bad dunkey (
@christophergarcia2978 Says:
Best review on youtube. Goddamn!!
@chinmaydeshmukh1 Says:
its funny how dunkey gave up for this plot but has a metal gear solid story breakdown on his channel.
@JasonInc1 Says:
This is the last REAL review donkey did before he lost his damn mind.
@leagueofreiska Says:
I don't like the couldron... I think the couldron is poopoo... I like how the battle is set like you're a mouse in the big cat's house type of battle on wits and magic but I just... I hate the couldron and all Atreus parts more and more with each replay, because you can't explore the playstyles on Atreus and I get why you can't but these parts are like trailing missions of Assassin's Creed when you replay. You get the awkward teen story with a bit of combat so you don't fall asleep. I know im ranting about the smallest part you do in the game but my freedom to explore is taken away for hours when you pile up each time you play as Atreus. Otherwise the game is amazing but for some reason people aren't mad for Brok dying and Sindri becoming a revenge seeking angry dwarf who doesn't move on even with Odin dead but people are allowed to be angry at The Last of Us 2 when Joel dies and Ellie becomes a revenge seeking angry girl who moves on after stopping the cycle of revenge. Here we see that lighthearted endings are actually bad and you should get your revenge even if it won't make you fufilled. Always remember Last of Us haters you got homophobia and Fallout 76 lovers on your side... but if you wanna hop over to this side we welcome you whole heartedly. Yes I turned this into a jab about hating Last of Us 2 >:)

@geronimus4288 Says:
youre wrong dunkey, never felt so against you in opinion as far as gameplay goes this game just sucks.
@NotTerrio Says:
Easily one of my favorite games. Stellaris, The Witcher 3, and GoW Ragnarok are the only games I've ever taken platinum.
@guardianhirro Says:
This is probably the most cringe "review" of a game ive ever seen
@iknowwhy2629 Says:
I thought at some point he was going to say SIKE ! but no. he actually liked this pos! he didn't mention the 10h slop of a story as forced cutscenes that you can't skip. or the boat rides. or the annoying side characters not shutting up when you are trying to solve the "puzzles".
Then there is the story and how Kratos was just his "loving" wife's tool and how she used him to fight her war. made him raise a child that looks nothing like Kratos. I can go on about how the story made no sense but that would just take too long.
the combat is also badly designed. camera being too close and enemies spamming projectiles at you from 5 directions makes it impossible to have fun and do actual combos. this makes me believe he played the game on the easiest difficulty.
@fayettevilletrash Says:
The fact this seems like an actual review feels like a 4d chess move to shit on it somehow. Idk what to think about this video
@ericbrintonmusic Says:
6:00 yeah but did you shoot the chime as Atreus?
@boneknockgrit2695 Says:
Sadly for pc version it become more and more unplayable from each patch. Except you think the game crash problem ( from performance drop really bad on many areas) that make you save data broke isn't bad enough. Play it on PS is our best bet I think.

@MasterFlarg89 Says:
The only negative I had to say to this sequel was the ending felt it went too fast. I don't want to say rushed because I don't know for sure but all I know is, when I finished vanaheim and had nothing to do I BLAZED through those last couple chapters. I appreciated the emotional dialogue but I really wanted the actual finale to last longer, it was too cool to not find more to do in my opinion. I love this game but the first (revival?) God of War in Norse mythology one of the best stories told in a video game.
@LordOfHam Says:
I'm wasting a lot of time writing this, but there's so much about this game I did not like at all.
A lot of the Norse Saga felt so bland after playing the Greek Saga, especially given the expectations you get from how Vikings are usually portrayed as these barbaric, brutal warriors with their purpose of achieving glory through fighting (regardless of how they were in reality, I'm pretty sure you could say a lot of things were made up about the Spartans, too). Instead of that, we got a shit-ton of Disney-like characters and environments that pull you away from environments that would make sense for the Norse Mythology.
I get the other realms are different from Midgard, but when you find yourself in the middle of the jungle or the desert you forget you're in a game that's supposed to take place in the Mythology Vikings used to have. The Greek Saga had its licenses with some environments too, but it wasn't so exaggerated.
I just wish you had the opportunity to visit more places that looked more like Asgard, or the shores of Valhalla, or other places that would actually remind you of Scandinavia.
But the worst part is Dunkey's favourite boss fight. I hated that whole part from start to finish so fucking much.
@arsalanadil2845 Says:
I'm still trying to figure out which boss fight was he talking about? At 1:42 he mentioned his favorite one, I wanna know which one. I've completed all of them but I still don't remember which one it is.
