So true. In this culture, it is all about "feelings". You can even show people facts and they don't care. Feelings are more important than facts.

This is one problem with Bill Gothard's basic life principles.... if the kids were taught how to pull the principles out of Scripture and apply them rather than just give them a bunch of rules to follow, then perhaps more of these kids would be better equipped. Bill Gothard, etc... won't be there to hold your hand when a new problem arises. We have to know how to think Biblically.

The logical thing to do what asked a question is answer the questions you are asked. Not answer them if they are valid questions is not logical. People of all kinds please state if your theists, atheists, agnostics or any combination of those and then if willing participate in the test. As well, looking for 5 good moral theist questions for atheists/agnostics. #1 You see a child drowning in a shallow pool and notice a person just watching that is able to save the child with no risk to themselves but is not, is that persons non action moral? #2 If you go to save the child, the man tells you to stop as he was told it was for the greater good, but he does not know what that is, do you continue to save the child? #3 Is it and act of justice to punish innocent people for the crimes of others? #4 If you were able to stop it and knew a person was about to grape a child would you stop it? #5 Would you consider an all knowing parent who put their kids in a room with a poison fruit and told the kids not to eat it but then also put a supernatural con artist in the room with the children knowing the con artist will get the kids to eat the fruit and the parent does nothing to stop it a good parent?

Well to be fair some people’s feelings on something’s are right on, they just can’t explain it. What you should say is your feelings are wrong on this one man and here’s why.

This is great advice. With a little logical thought, christianity ia seen for the falshood that it is. If you believe a story with a talking donkey in it, you aren't looking at it logically.

I have an older brother who's a math major who tells me logic is actually not logic but psychological games. That's how crazy it is.

The irony in this video is overwhelming. Christians don't believe because of evidence. They believe because that's what they were brought up to believe or because of how it makes them feel. They then try to find evidence to back up what they already believe. If you apply critical thinking to Christianity, it falls apart. If Frank Turek or William Lane Craig stopped using logical fallacies, their books, talks and debates would be very short.
@ta3p-theannex3project84 Says:
Religion is pure indoctrination. Logic is coming from internal reasoning not by telling a salesman what is logic.
@jamesw4250 Says:
I wish Christians would train their brain. Of course they wouldn't be Christian if they did.

Ugh! "Follow your heart¡" As if the heart can't be corrupted or led astray. What a great way to lead someone towards despair.

@festushaggen2563 Says:
I disagree that we don't teach kids what to think. Whether right or wrong, true or false, that's exactly what they're being taught. For instance they used to be taught patriotism and respect for the law and now they're being taught the exact opposite to where they riot, steal and burn down their own neighborhoods on a whim. I'd say the former way of teaching them what to think was better.

@anguschiggins2161 Says:
How ironic, Christians flagging kids being taught what to think not how to think and then go on to flag parental influence and cultural popularity. If ever there were reasons why Christianity became the "popular" religion. I think people engaging in logical thinking and critical thinking are the biggest reasons religion is in decline. The stories of a man living in a fish, talking snakes and the whole universe being created in 6 days is really making people think yeah I am not convinced that is real. Of course when people ask for more evidence for the claim, Christians will give us the spiel and walk people in more circles. Enough is enough.

You mean Brainwashed! Right Frank!
@hansdemos6510 Says:
It is impossible to teach any subject other than religion without also teaching at least the basics of logic, so I think Ms. Fulbright and Dr. Turek are exaggerating here. Historically, I don't think anybody has come to religion strictly by sticking to logic. You can try to be as logical as possible within a religious framework, but just sticking to logic would make you an agnostic, I think.
@larzman651 Says:

When Frank says train your brain he means memorize thought terminating clichés.

As a child, I learned HOW to think, logic, etc. I am 72 and remember when logic was part of the curriculum as well as Civics. Civics teaches how our country works and today, kids and adults don't even know how our system is supposed to work!
