I'm going to be 100% with you Dunkey: I got Starfield, largely because I was hoping I could play as a sexy space babe, or a sexy alien babe or a sexy gynoid. I was also hoping I'd be able to make said babe into a sniper that wore sleek space armor similar to the ones in Mass Effect, while also wearing a zero suit like the one Samus Aran from Metroid wears.
Starfield let me make a babe in character creation alright, but it lacked almost everything else I wanted to make my hopes a reality - no sentient/humanoid aliens to play as, no humanoid robots to play as, almost no sleek space armor (outside of the Starborn armor), and especially no zero suits. In regards to that last one, a part of me looks back and wonders "did Sweet Baby Inc. help in developing this?" But for real, Starfield has at least a couple positives going for it, but it sorely lacks a lot of things that made vanilla Skyrim fun and even base Fallout 4 tolerable.

Me any my buddy are giant bethesda fans, I love elder scrolls he loves fallout. He came to my house and he purchased starfield and he played it right in front of me. There is literally nothing fun about this game in the slightest. I have no idea how anybody has any fun playing this, it has to be actual 40 year old dad's who don't want to play an actual game, they want to play rc rocketship for 70 dollars. There is no soul, no personality in this game.
