I cannot understand how can they make progressively worse and worse ac titles over the years. It looks and plays worse than the og titles. I remember the gameplay in AC brotherhood, it had weight to it - when you swung a sword at someone, they reacted the way you'd expect, here they just fucking stand and stare at you.

AC should be laid to rest. The only compliment I can give a current ubi game: at least it’s not filled with 40 hours of boring content like Valhalla, odyssey, and origins. Other than that the game looks like syndicate and origins had a baby. Same running and climbing animations as syndicate, similar combat to origins, similar setting. I can’t stand AC now. It’s just the same game copy and pasted into a different setting with a few minor tweaks repackaged as a new game.

imo I think the game is actually great so far, the return of focus on story and the brotherhood is reminiscent of the first one and stealth is prioritized more than the last few. It's a step in the right direction for me.

The original AC was jank as hell and far from perfect, but so is every game that lays the groundwork for something new. The most damning thing about Mirage is that it plays identically to many other modern stealth games, totally divorced from what actually made AC stand out in the first place.

I mean, I can tell you the history of the Caliphates pretty easily. A bunch of psychotic cultists took over much of the Middle-East and forced the people they conquered who actually invented stuff to invent stuff for them and then people hundreds of years later oo'd and ahh'd over all the stuff the psychos claimed credit for inventing. The psychos' drove those places into the ground and the natives mostly left. These days, the psychos' descendants try to rebuild what they think once was but their view of history doesn't take into account that their ancestors never actually invented or build basically anything and the people who actually did were like the captured German scientists who built NASA and are long gone to other societies, making recreating the Caliphates impossible.
