This got me thinking about TL recent attention economy video. Is bitcoin the stored value of the attention economy? I price of bitcoin raises because people just think it's good or going up. It's treated like stock rather than a currency which was the point of it. Stock for the sake of stock and it's attention that's pushing it up. Same with memestocks - at least they had some fundamentals to it. Bitcoin will be the downfall of the west in the same way as the housing market has sucked wealth out of the things that should be producing wealth - products and services.

I'm a long way from being rich and I have my savings in money market funds because if there is a bank failure, the money market funds are secure whereas cash in a savings, checking, or investment account are not. The Fed is so broke that they're hoping and praying that a lot of the almost $7-trillon in money market funds will be transferred to stocks. Right now the only thing the US Government wants is to keep the stock market on a roll because, if the money goes into precious metals or crypto, then it is taken out of the Fed system and the entire US financial system will implode.

The $44,000 of two years ago buys about 20% less today, so Bitcoin at $44,000 today is worth 80% of a bitcoin two years ago. It would have to get to $50,000 to be equivalent. Bitcoin may or may not be inflation immune, but the dollar that it gets quoted in is not immune to inflation. Still a bargain below $45k, Get it while it's hot. If you missed the 2017, 2021 bull run.

In my opinion this is a great US government strategy to squeeze money out of suckers/streets who 1. Know late to get in, 2. Don't know when to get out. 3.
