There is not enough time in life to play just the RPGs from this year. You kind of just have to pick one and hope that you picked the right one for the next 5 years.”
This is how I feel trying to get through my backlog. I'm getting there.

Dunk is spot on with the amount of time games take to finish these days. It's why I started emulating, to go back and play some of the older titles I never got to to play when I was a kid, so I can knock out a game in a weekend like back in the day.

A month ago, or so, I replayed Metal Gear Solid 1 and it amazed me how fast paced (in a good way) the story was. Games nowadays feel kinda like morbidly obese people.
That said. RDR2 is my favourite morbidly obese person in the whole wide world, and I believe I might have children with it. I'll keep you posted.

I wish modern games were this efficient with your time. modern games tend to pad things out way too much with their main story quest. despite how short the games were, there are a lot of games from the 90's that were only 20 or 30 hours worth of content and yet they felt just as packed and intricate and memorable as a lot of modern games that are 100+ hour time investments. whats up with that?

This is an amazing remake, it makes the SNES version obsolete imo. It is just too bad they didn't add in a few more modern features like the ability to beat someone down with a porkchop. That would have made the Culex battle pretty interesting.
