Excuse me who is the guest here? Because I thought Mr Voss ..who ended up listening the host giving a lecture .
@randyscorner9434 Says:
I love Mr. Voss's comment about asking how to be guaranteed a position that is strategic and working on the most important things in the company. So many people just want a job out of the spotlight with little to no pressure with a good paycheck. In other words, hide out along the periphery while everyone else moves the company forward. If I ever got an inkling that this was the type of person I was talking to, I immediately terminated hiring interviews. Those that want to play in "the big game" and see the satisfaction and rewards of that are the most important people in a company.

That time you’re lucky enough to interview one of the world’s top hostage negotiators and you hijack the entire conversation. 🤦🏻‍♀️

This video taught me to listen more and use the word “I” less by watching how this interview went between the two of these great speakers.

Anyone going to apply this to parenting ? Sometimes I feel like the hostage when trying to manage my child throwing a tantrum… other times I can see she’s the hostage to the “spirit of anger “ as JP would put it Very interesting 🧐 THANK YOU

Chris Voss Congress off as a total phony to me. His book was terrible and he does nothing to impress here either, so what is the fascinatination with him? Why does he keep popping up?

This guest is soooo boring to listen to. Nothing but filler words, virtue signalling, tooting his own horn and very little substance. Jordan asks a very CLEAR question, and this guy answers a totally different question. Jordan asks about each of the 9 strategies and this guy continues rambling about some other irrelevant stuff instead of clearly listing each of those 9.

It’s really wild hearing this dude consciously explain and lay out the strategic value of conversational talents I’ve apparently utilized unconsciously and held unarticulated for years. Makes me wonder if I’d have made a good negotiator.

@aaronsung6208 Says:
I've read the book "NEVER SPLIT THE DIFFERENCE" three times. It never once mention that the negotiator should use only use the method for good or reframe from being manipulative. JP forcefully inserted those two rules into the book, and Chris Voss just use "ACTIVE LISTENING" and "TACTICAL EMPATHY" to response to JP's bad claims without agreeing and JP doesn't realize it. The conversation itself is a great lesson to his book!
