My old black lab passed away. Boy did he ever love to play! We played together every day for 13 years. He was old and decrepit at the end, but still wanted to try and play with his ball. I buried him with that ball. God he taught me a lot and enhanced my life

I have had to deal with very Evil people for a lot of my life, The use of humor in dealing with that helped prevent the Evil from corrupting my soul.

"No difference between Play and Faking it" ["Fake it until you make it" / "Act it out"] Thank you for all of the insights Dr. Peterson. This video is great.

The representation of Gandalf in the LOTR Trilogy is an excellent representation of the playfulness in the face of evil.
@MrDriedel5 Says:
[1:48]: "It's a very naïve person indeed who doubts the existence of evil." I generally go more with 'sheltered person' instead of naive, but it's not hard for me to doubt, because I've experienced it, and for me, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars are two very important movies that depict some of the nature of evil. HOWEVER, I'd love to hear you speak to people's ideas of some Eastern Religions (like Buddhism?), where I think people get the notion of "no good or evil." At least, this is where I assume they get this idea of "nothing good or bad."

Norm made a point and people considering comedians as the modern day philosophers and it was funny, but the fact that he’s been on like every major comedians podcast kinda says something idk what. But Peterson also works with the kinds of ideas that say something we can’t yet define.

In murky turbulent years, extra hustle and bustle he hears near his always-open doors. True 🆘 calls from lost and drowning souls. Angry sinners with false petitions and hardcore stones. Grim preachers galore with lucrative mobile phones. The Lord🧖‍♂️fed up and stoned, with Attila’s sword he storms: Alors, Alors! Mr. Lobster, and Mr. Rustle, again, are born and many more whom I’ve never seen before. What are you, zealous folks, in church in search for? A wise peaceful lore to stop discord and wars? Perhaps to clean old stains and find a lucky brand name for your holy snake oil? 🕺🏼Only to escape Schwab’s matrix floors, to save the misinformed and aid the “by picky females ignored”.” 🧖‍♂️Then go on, go! Bugger off, you’re not welcome anymore. The devil’s advocates, hirelings and pawns! Your offerings are gentile flesh and bones. Your faith is namby-pamby. Your excuses are frore.

Looking back on my childhood the men that encouraged forms of play the most were also physically the strongest & the smartest... There is more a correlation b/w evil & weakness than b/w strength & weakness... Like one is Scar & the other is Mufasa...

I got as far as 7:20. To me, it felt like he started rambling. I used to listen to him a lot a few years ago but started questioning him after he wound up in a psychiatric hospital in Russia (why Russia?) due to an addiction to an anti-depressant drug. It seemed to me that he couldn't philosophize himself out of his own personal dilemma yet while orating to others about theirs.

Man the human ability to rationalize and cope is insane and our downfall.
@Dismeatboy Says:
Exactly, the person you wanna play with has to want to play with you for “the game” to work. So you are a selfish megalomaniac sack of shit for forcing others into existence. Thanks for clearing that up for me bubba.
@AlexReynard Says:
To teach kids to play is literally the most important thing you can do for the overall quality of life of humanity. To teach them how to choose, to want, and to properly engage in, the best form of conflict. Public schools trying to restrict all forms of playing, and teaching kids to avoid all conflict, is genocide-level evil. Schools could be nothing but recess and they'd be just as valuable. Or more! Online learning is an unfathomably terrible idea. This is why governments that try to overcoddle their citizens, and stop them from settling conflicts on their own, are as evil as abusively-overprotective parents. We all recognize that's wrong. But it's wrong because they're like vampires stealing away the thing that gives our lives purpose. And, conversely, if Americans came up with the idea of summer vacation, they're the smartest people in history. Three months of unstructured play, for the sheer sacredness of play. Holy fuck. Literal best idea ever.
@AlexReynard Says:
Jordan's comment about how adults lose the spirit of imagination and play. I'm reminded of a Transformers toy reviewer here on YouTube, EmGo, who ends every video with, "You don't stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing."
@AlexReynard Says:
It's all about conflict. Conflict is the lifeblood of existence. Conflict is what keeps things interesting, and keeps everything from stagnating to absolute zero. But malevolence is *forced* conflict. and play is *consensual* conflict. Structured conflict. Conflict that has rules and boundaries to keep it from getting so out of control that things spiral into chaos, and when everything is chaos, that's the same as everything being nothing. Conflict is the middle point between the two horseshoe bell-curve-ends of absolute chaos and absolute boredom. So you want conflict. But you want it to be, "Hey, let's have some fun."

You once said someone can't be mature unless they've had children. I guess Queen Elizabeth I and Isaac Newton demonstrated less maturity than Lindsay Lohan and Michael Jackson.

Im glad you get your DW money but really JP is far beyond anything the others in that group or media company has to offer. I genuinely feel JP speaks from the heart. His agenda is to share knowledge, what hes been musing over, and just make us all better people. Hes not a racist. Hes not transphobic. Hes not a right winger. Hes Jordan Peterson, a flawed but brillant man that truly wants to do some good.
