I miss listening to Rex Murphys. The only person I listened to from the cbc
@jc7906 Says:
Rex was a great voice, not only for Newfoundland but for Canada. I miss his sharp wit and insightful takes.
@veronaraven3099 Says:
I always loved his radio program listening to CBC on Sundays in the 1000 Islands in NY. So thougthful... he will be missed.
@winsomepickett7694 Says:
Love the jacket, Doc. It's as if Don Cherry suddenly became very religious.
@allanharris4281 Says:
I met him briefly in North Vancouver, at a CBC event. I told him he should run for Prime Minister. He laughed and said it was 'not a good idea.' Carol Off, overheard heard the conversation and encouraged Rex to run. Great laughs ensued. It was a hoot.
@davidwhite6617 Says:
I always enjoyed to listen to Rex. He was a classmate of my older brother. I met him once or twice at the old CBC St.John's studios. Where one of my other brothers worked for a time. I always enjoyed his wit and banter. Speaking of the spirit of Newfoundlanders ,I am always reminded of the Speech of Henry V prior to the Battle of Agincourt. When I think of my home province, The line ,For those who are not with us here this day, will hold their manhood cheap. That they were not here with us on St. Crispin's Day.
@davidwhite6617 Says:
Having to stomach the company of Jordan Peterson for a few days must have been pure hell for someone as intelligent as Rex Murphy! It would be like Shakespeare entertaining Donald Trump!
@cajcip Says:
Election season is at its peak and I am here to watch this preview of one if not the best reporter there ever was!
@Samantha0207 Says:
What would Rex say - Feb 15 2025 ❤
@robertahynes2437 Says:
Thank you DR. Peterson for the great tribute to Rex Murphy. He was and always be a hero to a lot of Newfoundlanders. I also Thank you for being the spokesman for the Canadian people who have been oppressed by the Woke agenda here in Canada. Bravo DR Peterson
@cornishcoves9399 Says:
Well Jordan; I wonder what some of our "fathers of confederation" are thinking "up there in heaven" now? Doubts for EVER joining confederation in 1949? As you said the PROVINCE IS VERY ISOLATED....there are pros and cons regarding joining conferation...a trade off between identity and economy. (ie. that is at the rate the Lib government is destroying this country the Nfld Legislature may once again have to revert to ruele by a Commisson Government as they did in1934 to afford living in the Province. We miss you REX MURPHY~~!!!!💝
@MarcelTheMagos989 Says:
i would love to see you do a talk in corner brook... that said there probably is not enough people here to justify it.. maybe st johns

@bigjohn697791 Says:
The accent is so much like a Waterford or Wexford accent with bits Cork especially the Irish areas as the people have my surname as one of the very big family names from Ireland. I hoped the Banshee mourned your passing Rex Murphy may god keep yea.
@NicoletaWestren-jk2kg Says:
I mourn the loss of Rex Murphy and miss reading his exquisite articles. He was and will be one of the greatest Canadians.
Rest in peace Rex! It feels like yesterday seeing you almost every morning in the subway, some 30 years ago..
@stevemartin6144 Says:
I didn't know that Jordan could smile.
@stevemartin6144 Says:
Dumb jacket.
@tabby7189 Says:
I visited St. John's once, and everything they say about the province describes my own experience. I was in my early 20s at the time, still very much finding my way, and my time there made a valuable contribution.
@petrk6186 Says:
Blind and deaf yet commenting confidently on everything around him. Unfortunately, many wise men are not heard like him.
@broken2bulletproof Says:
weird not seeing jordan in a suit

I’m a Bluenoser married to a Newfoundlander from around the Bay. Having spent 10 years over 3 separate periods I always had the greatest love and respect for NL. Since I first saw him on CBC in late 70’s, Rex and the quality of his work and depth of his experiences put me in awe of his delivery of a message. A true Newfoundlander and Canadian. He will be very much missed.
@salt8661 Says:
Grateful for Mr. Murphy. He will be missed ♥️💫
@canuckslions3439 Says:
As a lad from Newfoundland being gone for 30 years, you too Jordan are one of Canada’s finest citizens! Love your podcasts and your point of views!
@DB-gr7ch Says:
The deatrh of Rex Murphy was as powerful a moment in Newfoundland as the death of Joey Smallwood. But in the case of Rex, everyone mourned.

I loved Rex's columns. Always insightful, always learned new vocabulary reading them. I have known many "Newfies" from the O&G in Alberta. Always a great group of people. I personally want to see NewFoundland some day.
@jimfell7147 Says:
Is there anyone out there with the balls to take up Rex's baton, I fear not. Media today is a travesty.
@carlconstantineau4216 Says:
Hats off to ya, Rex Murphy. RIP.

He's right about that rare nice day in town. The island brings out the best in everyone.
@peaisgreen Says:
Thank you Dr. Peterson, you look so happy❤️. My little tribute to Rex:
A true Canadian legend, the Don Quixote of journalism, masterful with his words, towering in his intellect, fearless, gracious and always polite; through his wit and truth speech, he pushed us to think and taught us that being a contrarian makes us all together stronger. He invited us into our collective Canadian living room, fiercely and passionately giving a voice to the downtrodden, to regular Canadians, speaking truth to power in what he believed. He had me reaching for my Longman's more than once, painting into my mind the rich fabric of what it means to be a Canadian 🇨🇦❤️. Rest in peace dear Rex, you will sorely be missed. Condolences to the family.
@jacobishere42 Says:
Hope your days and weeks going well Dr. JP ❤❤
