I use to see the latest Schwarzenegger and Stallone movies. They were movie stars. I didn't even care what they were playing, I went and saw it. Twins, Kindergarten Cop...LOL. I find it ironic Schwarzenegger was in a movie called "The Last Action Hero." He practically was.
@madihjorth8164 Says:
Tom Cruise is basically the last Movie Star left!!

Totally agree with this conversation. Many years ago, there was an actor I much admired and adored. I stood in many long outdoor lines, sometimes in shitty weather, to see his movies. I was always delighted with his performances. I thought of him as the perfect 20th Century "movie star". Then, about 20 years ago, he went on a talk show. I can't remember which one. And...he started talking politics. He had a superior, snotty attitude and was hostile to the host. The guy wouldn't let up, and was so rude and combative and superior--I was absolutely appalled. To me, he had gone from being mostly an anonymous personality--which made it delightful to see him in his movies--to proving himself to actually be a completely obnoxious guy that I couldn't abide. And I haven't been able to enjoy a single one of his films in the last 20 years, and will not pay to see them. That night, he died for me. RIP, Harrison Ford.

You both would make a great movie duo together. Believe me.

This is so different ...a real conversation. Good stuff

Really like a lot of Quaids films. Great actor. But the real person sounds like someone just out of rehab. An actor who can hardly talk without erring , ahhing and umming. Something child like about this. Naievity. Two men determined to agree with each other. A love in. No appreciation, until much later - of the self-:destructive nature of the Soviet Union.( By no means a Communist regime as it was a dictatorship by an elite not the proletariat.) Extremely ' light' analysis of world affair. Peterson's 'play' that Communism is again on the rise couldn't be more wrong. Fascism is on the rise - Russia, Hungary, Austria, Poland. Chinese hegemony in trade/ money with US bankruptcy due to military spending, weapons export and a corrupt banking/ real estate sector ( 2008).

Dennis Quaid is a lovely actor. I also love Jack, because I love The Boys. But when I was a kid I loved Innerspace (Joe Dante, Meg Ryan, Martin Short x). Dennis was also really great in The Substance. My film of the year. Not an easy watch, but I love the Fly and my favourite film is Robocop so I'm not squeamish. He's a good guy. I think he might have a resurgence and if that happens I'll be in his corner. Love Doctor Peterson too, and have for years. All love to your work, Professor. Keep going. I'll watch, with love. X
@MrOfcourseitsme Says:
Quaid, besides all his older stuff, has some good ones more recently, The Hill and The Long Game, quality storytelling.

I just got back from the theatre, Dennis did a terrific job in the role as Reagan. Go see it if you get a chance. It makes you remember what the definition of Patriatism means.

"The Day After Tomorrow" is a great movie when your snowed in. Especially if you watch the Sputh Park episode "Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow" immediately after. The two things must go together in that order or you havent gotten the full effect.
@augustinekludze2811 Says:
I don’t watch any of these dumb new movies that seek to indoctrinate instead of entertain

In real life? Didnt they just need the Kings signature for the deficit? What happened then?
@OsellaSquadraCorse Says:
Quaid was fantastic as Ralph Lamb in Vegas; an absolutely great series sadly ignored and cancelled to soon. I also really enjoyed him in Pandorum as well; creepy b-movie sci-fi horror.
@tysontyson1244 Says:

Fantastic interview Mr. Peterson - Thank-you!
@maryannstout7600 Says:
Ronald Reagan was my all time favorite president.. 🎉😊Dennis Quaid is one of my favorite actors. He reminds me of my brother, who was one of my heroes. I am also a big Trump fan. He was a great president. I hope he wins again 🎉😊Biden is the biggest failure. 😢Obama divided the country into tribes.He was an absolutely horrible president. 😮
@noelhausler8006 Says:
Conservatives attack gay marriage and support traditional marriage and they do it quite often. RudyG 4 Trump 3 Dennis Quaid 4.
@billpellicone9899 Says:
Reagan knew how to handle almost anybody with class. Sitting tall in the saddle the man was likable. What's a 70% approval rating towards the end of his second term. Democrats are still mad that Reagan the man that they called an idiot did a good job. Reaganomics still on the table. Don't let Joe Biden overtax the wealthy and corporations. That will destroy Reaganomics will destroy the middle class nothing good about it. And who's going to get this money anyway you or me. No dumbasses it's more money for the government and they're already terrible at spending money. Corruption.

I became a fan of this dude and Louis Gosset Jr., when watched "Enemy mine" in my after school program in 88". I was 8 years old. Wheel out TV and VHS. Quaid has this dimply movie star "smile" 😂
@FirstLast-qb9iq Says:
As much as I like Peterson, he does have a problem with speaking over people
@agirlnamedbrett. Says:
i appreciate that he wanted to do the interview in person. nowadays it is so easy to interview people without being in the same room, but it is not the same and you miss out on alot not being together looking at one another and talking!
@AnnetteMartinos Says:
Going to the movies got way too expensive...you can rent a new movie and watch it on your big screen and have a bunch of friends and family over...
@jamesbuchanan3888 Says:
IMO, it is nearly impossible to tell when the left goes too far. The problem is simple, but multi-faceted. 1 - With more resources, you can do more good. Where is the ideological or philosophical stopping point when you can confiscate resources by force? There is always a pretext for more taxation in the name of doing more "good". This results in compassion for everyone but the taxpayer. 2 - Who gets to determine what "good" is? Whose definition will prevail and be implemented by force of the state? 3 - What definition of "good" can any avoid the creation of internal division and turmoil as the privileged are subsidized at the expense of others. 4 - How long until those in authority decide to reward themselves for all of the "good" they are doing with other people's resources? 5 - When "good" is the goal, what means are legitimized in order to obtain that "good". Historically, it is the pursuit of a utopian ideal which has led to the greatest atrocities. ... The foremost lesson of history is that the means creates the ends. I like the biblical fix to this problem. ... "The sword" is only to be used against those who do evil. It is not a multipurpose tool suitable for every social ill. This limitation on the use of force is in place because the ends do not justify the means.
@profeh3346 Says:
I would see any Dennis Quaid movie - and I haven’t been to the theatre in years long before Covid - and no longer buy them on a streaming service because too few are worth the time let alone time and money. We recycle old favorites of which include many Dennis Quaid movies. ❤
@profeh3346 Says:
Please - Trump was NOT making fun of handicapped people - come up with a better true example - there are many.
@mitchellponder8834 Says:

I loved Reagan's movies, thanks to Youtube!
@drgonzorevival Says:
Incredible how someone can say about Trump, “look at his kids” and mean that as an endorsement.
@illudiumQ36SpaceModulator Says:
Quaid is incorrect on one thing. Quaid believes in the a safety net. "That... the government was supposed to provide." So many of our friends, especially on the left miss what the Constitution actually says: "Provide for the COMMON DEFENSE. PROMOTE the general welfare." No where does the Constitution say our government is to PROVIDE for the general welfare. There is an intentional difference in the words they chose. Provide vs Promote actually means something. We've totally gone off the rails in this regard, yet it's mentioned next to never.
@HIGHLANDER_ONLY_ONE Says:
I didn't even know about this movie. I don't normally go watching movies, except for animes from Japan, with my young adult children! I'm going to!!! ❤🇺🇲🫶
