Man I played this on Gameboy pocket and got stuck on the final dungeon. I couldnt figure out how to get to the last room and fight the boss to get the last instrument.
@TrueSaint916 Says:
And that's why this is my favorite Dunkview.

The way you close out this video is so sweet and kinda beautiful honestly. Never thought I'd say that about a video game review
@BabysealLovesBagpipes Says:
what about this game is replayable?
@theangriestgamer Says:
That opening still gives me chills. It’s just such good editing of the evolution of the theme song across the first four games.
@Humblemumble7 Says:
Does anyone here know exactly what it is or every noticed any kind of consistency within the subtitles "dunkview" before now?
@yuuu2ooob891 Says:
Yeah, the biggest disappointment for me with this game was being stuck playing as Blunka. I really wish I had the option to play as Link or Zelda.
@Neotokyovibes-WelcomeHome Says:
This is exactly how I felt about Ocarina of Time
@sourbreinlemain4879 Says:
Omg that outro
@MrSpinachguy Says:
The weirdest part is if you think about it (and you're familiar with Star Trek), Koholint Island is a kind of Q-Continuum built by the Wind Fish to help Link solve the Wind Fish's problem. Its a mix or literal, metaphor, humor, and so on. The Wind Fish is a wise and very knowledgeable entity of great power and he's creating a kind of D&D campaign for the player. He knows about Kirby, Yoshi, and others, and creates facsimiles. He also knows about Zelda and her Legend (!!!) and creates a doppelganger of sorts- she looks like Zelda but probably she's just outside the normal appearance variance of a Zelda incarnation. He also recognizes the importance of Marin, perhaps as a messenger, perhaps as an expression of hope (perhaps Link's hope), perhaps both, and creates her from his dream. This actually also means that the Wind Fish may well be one of the most powerful and intelligent entities in the Legend of Zelda universe, and he's actually a cool dude which is nice. He's only seen once in the main games, but he's learned more than you would expect... he's probably still in the background somewhere. Watching.

This was my first Zelda game and still remains as my favorite, it was so ahead of its time 😢
@cosigi Says:
I'm surprised you called LA more polished than Lttp, the mob is ready to ice you. I appreciate your review. Links Awakening is underrated in my opinion and happy to hear from fellow fans how beloved it is. Oot is my favorite but this is my second favorite. Sounds like they really cared about remaking it so I'll have to play it.
@ubaibhuiyan1222 Says:
Im still sad that Marin isn’t real 😢
@lkthwnd Says:
Still my first and favorite Zelda game to this day, and that’s saying a lot.

I didn't know Dunkey was a David Lynch afficionado but I'm here for it.
@wub-zero735 Says:
This remake was my second ever Zelda game after BoTW. I was so confused and I got stuck and dropped the game for a long time. But putting the pieces together and finishing it was incredible. This game is a masterpiece
@UltraCasualPenguin Says:
That twist was reason why I loved this game on original Game Boy. My reaction to game first time telling me that it's just dream was "What!? It's not true!". Then I beat it and... it was just a dream.
@VegettoBlack Says:
This and the Oracle games were some of my fav Zelda games of all times..def my fav 2ds

@thethief4618 Says:
but sometime in life, the thing you have to do, is the last thing you want to do. the best summary I have ever heard for this game.
@Mr_Mimestamp Says:
i’ve watched this video no less than 20 times over the course of the past few years, and only now have i noticed how different the editing in this video feels from dunkey’s usual videos. there’s a lot more fade-ins and smoother transitions rather than the usual hard cuts. it makes the video itself feel dreamlike, just like the game he’s talking about.
@VoloHerzon Says:
First proper game I ever played. This game taught me ethics. Since then I was never for saving the world.
@DAPower98 Says:
The fade-in of "more dunkey"... Wow...
@remixisthis Says:
Love Link's Awakening. Amazing world and story
@Drysoda1212 Says:
Damn. That was borderline therapy
@rooty Says:
The saddest thing about the island and its inhabitants disappearing at the end is the fact that because the game was so obtuse, most players back in the day had spent YEARS with these characters. I first played it in 1993 I think, and I didn't beat it until I got the DX version in like 1998 (which is a long time for a ten year old)
@DonutDMerlot Says:
one of my favourite dunkey videos
@TheOGRokma Says:
What nostalgia I have for this remake
@LucasKreider Says:
This is the most beautiful Links Awakening video I’ve ever seen. Best outro of all time
