Maybe they don't like admitting they aren't everything they could be. Maybe they like lying to themselves and others. Please please exercise some caution listening to this man. There’s no evidence to suggest that people who are aggressive ace interviews or get better jobs. The key thing is to be calm and not panic. But that’s nothing to do with being aggressive. Take a look at the likes of Munger, Buffett, Branson, Musk, Gates, etc. These are all mild mannered people. They don’t walk into rooms with their brows knitted, spoiling for a fight. Take some time to watch people who head departments in universities. Most of them, unlike Peterson, are able to carry on quite effectively without trying to stare out their colleagues. All Peterson is training you to do is become a middle manager who no one will want to work with long-term because you'll be too intense to work with, much like Peterson himself who, from his recent behaviour, I strongly suspect is in the midst of some kind of mental breakdown. This is someone who's own staff have had to lock him out of Twitter due to his misuse of the platform, who, in recent videos, is either sobbing or on the brink of yelling - even when talking to people agreeing with him. Even if you're fan, don’t bet everything on one person. As in all areas of life, take a broad look and a fair sample. Consider what he's saying and whether it actually makes sense or whether, just as plausibly, he's generalising from a limited set of experiences.

Some time ago I've lost my job right when my second daughter was born. Things were already tough that year with family, faith and professional issues. I've gone trough very dark places at that time, and hated myself deeply for a lot of things. Being an artist was one of them. I've found Dr. Jordan Peterson around that time. His lectures, all of them actually, were a light to me in that period. The lectures about the status and utility of artists in society, importance of men and fathers were somethig that were very special. Things are way better now. I feel like I have tools to build the person I want to be. As a partner to my wife, a father to my daughters, as an artist, as a person of faith... as a man. Thanks Dr. Peterson.

It’s hard to know where to leave a message that Dr. Peterson will actually receive, but I suggest interviewing Dr. Irving Finkel of the British Museum, expert in cuneiform, ancient civilizations generally, mythology and board games. He also participated in a project which reconstructed Noah’s ark using traditional craftsmanship, materials and the instructions in the ancient texts. He’s a very charming person and quite different from a lot of Dr. Peterson’s guests.

Telling your 18 yr old youre ok the way you are means more than he thinks or is implying. Sure at face value but that can be said for anyone. Peterson himself at 50 yrs old.
The idea of a mother or father saying that to their child isnt telling them to stay that way its saying they are ok for who they are in their current personality or whatever. Its a term of endearment, not literal...

If someone chooses your suggested way of "you should be a monster" and follows it, what is more likely - that one will choose a negative or a positive course of action as a result? In what direction will he be lured by the scent of the power he has achieved? To love and self-sacrifice for the common good, or to demonically ruthless egotism?
If you don't care at all about his choice, then you are simply on a negative path, and your suggested way of "you should be a monster" is perfectly appropriate for that. But if you believe that you are following the positive principles, I can't see how this could possibly be in accordance with the "monster" idea that you present here.
