Apple Announces NEW Self-Driving Car For 2025. Apple, the company that pioneered graphics interfaces in its heyday, made the greatest music player that shaped a generation, and is responsible for the biggest technological revolution in decades, not to mention, at the time of making this video, the most valuable company in the world, requires no introduction.
However, although you and I still consider it a tech company, over the past decade or so, and largely since Steve Jobs' influence has faded, the company has begun to shift towards a much more software and service-based business model.
And it looks like the first major breakthrough away from computer technology might be on the horizon.

Autonomous driving is NOT going to work. We don't even have robots that flip hamburgers. I'm all for tech but we are at least two decades away from self-driving cars. For autonomous driving to work, it must work for the stupidest and most careless among us, like when some drunk teenager passes out on Muholland Drive. The hyperbole in the space is unrelenting. Stop putting the cart before the horse. How about making a simple, reliable, electric car for the masses with 400 miles of range and a 20 minute 0 - 100% recharge time? Oh no, we can't do that... chh.

If Tesla has been struggling (publicly) for years to crack full-self driving, I find it hard to believe Apple will figure it out, while keeping everything a secret. There often needs to be a certain amount of collaboration to reinvent the wheel and I know Apple doesn’t work that way.
I have no doubt that it will look beautiful, have great UI, and possibly a strong battery. But self-driving? That’s a whole other thing.
