Brilliant stuff! Case just ordered 😎 does anyone know if the pi 5 supports gen4 m2?
@HyyskanPolttaja Says:
Thanks a lot for the video. I just installed the RPi 5 on Argon One V5 following your video. Everything went smoothly, no need to look at that little booklet with very small font that my 67 year old eyes can barely see.

I just want to say that I love your channel. ❤

Third party cases are really great. I just got a Flirc case for my PI5 and it's so nice to see my PI5 running nice and cool and not melting itself down at 80'+ unless I run that awful stock fan. While this one does look a bit chonky, it is quite a nice bit of kit. Maybe another upgrade someday...

Having a few older Ras Pi's around the house I've been wanting to get a Pi 5 and this video came out of nowhere and now I think its time to get one. Either for a mame gaming or a multimedia type setup. I hit a like and subscribed. this is some good stuff

How do you get the 2 USB2 ports to work ? Mine are not functioning. Is there a setting in raspiconfig ? ANSWER: watch the video till the end!

Just out of interest. How does this compare to something like a M710q for about the same money ? If a desktop Pc running linux is the goal, it seems that a more upgradeable mini PC might be a better option ? I do like the look of this case for the Pi, and to me, a decent alu case to keep it cool is worth its weight in gold. I run a nanoPi R6C as a KODI/prime video box on my ancient TV, and it is never anything more that cold to the touch, except on the occasional emulation of PS2 or Sega saturn.

Don't buy Argon One. They do not stand behind their product quality. I had a Argon One with broken quality due to the workmanship issue and unable to get support from Argon One.
@ZA26 Says:
Can somebody explain how to fix the YT notifications? Everything shows as being IMPORTANT.... had to change the setting on over 400 channels to stop them being split....

Again a great Video, greetings from Germany :D

Just picked up an Argon ONE V5 case based on your review, and I am very impressed with it. I also picked up the OLED display which shows CPU temp as one of its options. So far it hasn't gone over 45C despite pushing it hard. I now need to dig out a spare M.2 card and shift the Ubuntu OS over from the SD card to really put it through its paces, but I think this will be a good option for those looking for a fast, cheap mini PC on a budget.

I want to get a RPi 5 Desktop Kit with 16 GB RAM, but it only comes with a maximum of 8 GB. Sigh.
@Waveshare_Ruan Says:
This case really does integrate a lot of functionality and gives the Raspberry Pi 5 a much cleaner and more polished look. Impressive upgrade

Hello Christopher I made a channel inspired by yours I made a video on a capacitive moisture sensor with pico and 1602 LCD

Pity it didn’t offer PoE+ as an option for power…

Thank you Chris Barnett for making these videos. I can’t believe it’s been 600 already. I was 10 11 when I saw my first explaining computers video. You always put a smile on my face. Thankyou🩵

I don't have a Pi5, but if I did, this case would be top of the shopping list. Although I do miss the quirky shape of the old Argon One for the Pi4.
@XAirForcedotcom Says:
So typical. I start a project, and one day later, I see something new that would’ve helped if I had known to been around. Nothing critical, but it would’ve been nice.
@PaulL-g5l Says:
My Argon 5 arrived earlier today which is pretty amazing given that I only ordered it Sunday. Two things to note. 1 Make sure that the Pi 5 and daughter board are FULLY plugged together. Mine wouldnt power on and investigation showed I hadnt got the USB C power jack fully seated. 2 The same with the PCIE ribbon cable which has to be carefully and fully seated other wise the Pi 5 wont see the NVME board.
@ThomasBrisco Says:
600 videos! And this now has me re-thinking my covid-area remote-work desktop (a Pi 4, 4GB) - I dont need a better desktop, I just need an excuse to play with new toys 🙂
@geertrolf7871 Says:
Q: the thermal sticking: after placing the Pi5 in the case, does it stick to the case or is it just pushed to make thermal contact?
@patrick247two Says:
Your hyperbole is world class.
@dav3yb Says:
This is the case I've been eyeing for my Pi 5. One thing I particularly dislike is the mini hdmi ports, as well as the kind of "spider wires" that go out multiple sides of the board. I know with such a small board, it's kind of inevitable to be like that, but I really like how the case makes things much more mini-pc like
@dang48 Says:
Wow! 600 videos already? Sounds great! Enjoyed the video of the upgrade. Nice how it all came together.
@JasonSpanhur Says:
Raspberry pis are great. I turned a 400 into a portable retro gaming/movie watching setup for camping.
@TimelessX974 Says:
I found Raspberry Pi 5 Argon ONE V5 M.2 NVMe case on amazon italy but they priced it at 69.90€ can you tell me where you saw it at 45€ ?
@peterhollitzer4786 Says:
Is it "usefull" as Mini Nas/MediaCenter for 24/7, or is it getting to hot?
@cgarzs Says:
6:25 YES ♥ Always nice to see function over form get some love for a change. Too often its the opposite.
@RarefiedError Says:
You best get one of those Radxa Orion O6 kits (Arm v9.2) before Jeff Geerling beats you to it.
@AMDRADEONRUBY Says:
This case looks pretty nice indeed. i love it so much.
@markhackney3305 Says:
OMG Chris! Thermal pad wonky 5.14 and again at 7.17! I love your videos but you made me want to reach into the screen and straighten things out! Not sure if I'll sleep tonight now!

Much to my surprise a N100 PC from AliExpress say "TexHoo Mini PC Intel N150 N100 8GB DDR4 256GB SSD Dual HDMI Desktop" costs $115, cheaper than a Raspberry 5 alone - $120 at Amazon. In a server application the N100 is faster and a better choice. For IOT type application especially if power consumption is important the Raspberry 5 might be better. My impression is the Raspberry 5 is currently a little over-priced.
@scottwatschke4192 Says:
great design
@SmokingMan26 Says:
Congrats on such a HUGE milestone 600 videos, amazing. As for the Raspberry Pi sadly for that price you can get a used fast T series Thinkpad for about the same price. I got my T480s for $180 with touchscreen, backlight keyboard, 8gb soldered ram(1 empty memory slot), 256gb m.2. Though i will have to admit, I lucked out in the refurbished lottery because the touchscreen and keyboard weren't listed and my unit was VERY clean. Only thing i had to do was replace the thermal paste, luckily older thinkpads are easy to tear down.
@MagnusMegamind Says:
I would totally go for this, but old efficient office computers with 500gb ssd and 8/16gb ram sell for 30 to 50$ used. (for example lenovo think centre) And brand new n100 computer with 16gb ram 500gb ssd starts at 100$ on amazon/aliexpress and even without any discounts or sales going on it is 130 to 150 bucks. Those are much more powerful computers that can game very well(but i use them for 4k media playback) and efficiency is still insane on them because they use mobile chips or efficiency cores.
@thomaszack3573 Says:
Very nice review, thank you!
@strawberriebabieex3 Says:

Cool! But the argument related to Apple buyers I cannot see. Since 10 years I have Final Cut and Logic, as well as continuity. Since Apple I do not have to buy Microsoft Office nor other software windows does not include. Ok, they could improve spotlight, but except of this it is the best device for the bucks, at least in my case. And yes, I know there is a huge open source variety available, but if Apple has a solution that works for me (free of charge/free updates) I use it. With Apple I save about 250 Euro per year/device.
@JoseAlba87 Says:
I agree functionality vs. beauty first
@julian-gen Says:
So what OS do you install and how do you install it?
@john_hind Says:
Seems like if they are going to do this level of mucking about with the Pi 5 connections they'd be better off starting with the CM 5! I'm struggling to think of a use case for two extra USB connectors on top of the pretty generous four already on the Pi, but they could at least have made them USB-C.
@adriteixehax Says:
idk why the "let's go and take a closer look" always puts a smile on my face
