We are not saved by just knowing truth. The unsaved religious people put their faith in an idol of their own making, what they think up. It does not matter what we think but on what God does. Our believing is so far off it is more like not believing. Rom 3:3 “For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?” We are not saved by our own faith or our own faith in Jesus! But by the faith of Christ. Eph 2:8, 9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Many people do not understand saving faith when they read that verse. It says, “not of yourselves”, they skip that because their own faith is all they know, they do not know “the faith of Christ” only their faith in Christ. Gal 2:16 “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even(caused us to believed) we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” Many people do not know faith is a work. See 1Thess 1:3. We are not saved by our work but by His perfect work. For us to try to add to His work is to discount it. Understand how faith works. God was talking to Abram and gave him some promises to him. Then “And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.” Gen 15:6. Do you see the error in the translation? The second and is a conjunction, they should have used the conjunction for not and to make it clear. After God spoke to Abram and gave him promises then Abram believed for God counted the work of Christ for Abram righteousness so God and Abram could have a relationship together. The gospel is in the stars and the works were finished before the foundation of the earth. Heb 4:3 “For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.” This believing is not from make-believing but is a result of God speaking to your heart and causing you to believe. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Rom 10:17. Faith is a work, He works in our heart to cause us to believe His promises. Noah heard God and then he moved with fear. What church is teaching saving faith and to wait on God for salvation? Lam 3:25-26 “The LORD is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.” See your need by doing Matt.7:12. Study Jesus Matt. 7:7-14 The greatest gift is for your greatest need.

I'm certainly no expert but it seems to me that the "satanic" evil occurs much more through people's unconsciousness, than some sort of willful malevolence... which i think is a helpful concept we see more in the eastern philosophies, but i think it's accurate... like i have heard that the word "sin" from the bible comes from ancient Greek, and literally means something like "to miss the point"... and the similarity between that and Lao Tzu describing evil as a sort of opaqueness, or cloudiness, that doesn't let the light through.
