It is understandable to be a local company, in the rest of the world it does not happen, probably in the United States it feels like a competition of 2 local companies, in my country for example Apple products are the "different" and "luxury" version of common products. Most cell phones are android, from low to higher ranges.

Im from EU :D 99.9% users are using Messenger or Whatsapp. I asked kids that managers brought to my job, to learn something ( they earned like 4000$/ month as 15y old in our company) , what they are planning to do with the money, buying new iphone or what ? They sad ( all of them) .. " iphone is for poor people to act like rich, i will stay with my Android" .. they were bullied at school also, for not having an iphone .. kids of multi milionares bullied for not having an iphone :D .. but one of their biggest iphone fan in the class had birthday party and they saw his life.. long story short, they told me, the kid that was calling them poor for not having an iphone, was sleeping with his grandpa on the couch in the living room, and not having his own room... So the whole school turned against apple kids and now Android kids bully the iphone kids for being poor and compesate it with an iphone... Which is basically the pure truth..

The only apps actually watch using our signal and telegram you get even better privacy and even less limitations on those two, signal and telegram are superior in every way and they work on literally every widespread platform. Not to mention they are open source too so they can be ported by third party individuals, to other, non-widespread platforms.

The reason why the blue vs green bubble conflict only happens in the U.S. is not due to iPhone vs Android market share, but rather a sociological difference.
Despite being wealthy and populous, few Americans travel abroad (in proportion to their population), unlike Latin Americans or Europeans who visit neighboring countries many times a year. It’s common for mid class Americans to never been even to Canada or México, while a French, Spanish, Chilean or Argentinian citizen might travel to other continent once a year.
In 2009, while many around the world had friends in different countries and found international SMS expensive, apps like WhatsApp emerged, allowing free, unlimited global communication, which gained traction two years before iMessage was released. Also, Whatsapp was compatible across iOS, Android, Blackberry and Symbian, which still existed back then.
In contrast, Americans never had the need to switch from traditional SMS, so when iMessage appeared in 2011, it seamlessly replaced SMS without them noticing.
