Have not had enough meat for over a month now and am very low in energy my head aches. Waking up with intense migraines & no severe pain as well as nocturnal seizures that are hard to wake up from.
@clwhite1127 Says:
My toddler had severe epilepsy (5 different types of seizures and seizures were daily). We failed 5 meds and a surgical workup. Within 2 1/2 months of starting the very strict, classic ketogenic diet (medically administered by a dietician working with an epileptologist), his seizures stopped. After 2 years on the diet, he weaned off. He has not had another seizure. He is now 15 years old and seizure free for almost 12 years.
@jenlaroo Says:
My seizures came back after eight years of having none. I was having them once a month and they progress to once a week up until February. I am now getting adjusted by chiropractor and have been on keto and I have been able to almost completely eliminate my seizures without any medicine. I’ve only had one tiny one in the last 6 week and it was due to over consuming of caffeine that caused an electrolyte imbalance.
Long story short….. you can treat epilepsy without medication. Do not let the doctors tell you otherwise.
At the very least, you should be trying other options before medicine. I was on medicine for four years in my early 20s and it turned me into a different person. The side effects of the medicine were worse than the disease itself.

I have Epilepsy, and was having 5+ seizures a day for almost a decade. No medications would help. They all made me feel terrible. As a last resort, w nothing to lose, I started the Keto diet, and now Im almost 3yrs seizure free! I couldn't believe it myself, it took me a while to even convince myself that it was the diet that helped.
*Like anything else, im sure this treatment will not work for everyone unfortunately, but its worth a shot for everyone! Please speak to your Dr. Before doing anything, but i just wanted to share my personal experience.❤

Benzodiazepines true purpose are anti-seizure medications. Why would you take them when you could do it on a diet. They're poisoning us on purpose.
@danielamorin9874 Says:
Dr Peterson. Could you please interview Dr Mark Horowitz who wrote a book to de-prescribe antidepressants and antipsychotics which would be the next step once a person is stable on a “clinical” ketogenic diet? Thank you.

It also attentuates Alzheimers and other dementia illnesses. Helpful in healing for Traumatic Brain Injuries, autism, etc. Its abiut fuel for the brain via ketones instead of Glucose

I’m finding myself contacting friends and family apologizing for how harsh I was regarding some of her positions during COVID, now I don’t think 90% of them were doing their own critical thinking mostly just parroting Fox, but still i was just as brainwashed. Every day I’m seeing another way the government has manipulated and lied to us. It’s absolutely sickening and turning everything I thought was righteousness and true in its head.

Why is a fat diet important and the types of fat, cause cholesterol the bad sort is also responsible for healing clots and balancing other hormones. Hormones play a direct effect on neurons
@dudeimbusy Says:
Take it from someone who is a decade long expert(that would be a kind of expert)
The ketogenic diet statistically works better than the medicines in most outcomes
When it doesn’t work, it must be a tool that is set aside.
As a parent with a child with epilepsy
You get two chances with therapies
Before you need to move on to the next thing to try
Don’t give up, recognize that some things tried have a harmfulness factor.
Eg we may not all be fragile, but we are unique like snowflakes.

I am living proof of this. This actually happened to me. I have been off Kepra ( most recent seizure medication I was prescribed) for about 5 years now. My neurologist confirmed this is what happened to me. Apparently, according to a Harvard study on the effects of this diet within the KTP channel of the brain, it can reverse epilepsy. The study was of an older experiment, likely the one referred here in this video.
I had it for 7-8 years and then it went away as a result. I sincerely believe this is true. I am proof of it
@emilyanne3973 Says:
my comment didn't post for some reason. I achieved what seemed like spontaneous remission of bipolar disorder of which I have an extensive history of serious mental illness and psychosis. this happened when I did keto to achieve remission from diabetes which also happened. I have had no symptoms of bipolar for over 2 years without meds and I was on 5 psych meds for 20 years. it is not healthy lifestyle alone as "diet and exercise" did not help me achieve remission or even do much to change my situation until i lowered carbs
saturated fat as well as removal of seed oils was also a factor. saturated fat was extremely important for the depression which was deemed to be treatment resistant.

I’ve known this for quite awhile. When the keto diet hit mainstream, I realized many people did not know where this evolved from. Check out the Charlie Foundation.

Changing diet to keto or carnivore is fixing a whole boatload of issues for millions of people right now. It's not a fad, it's human biology. We've been eating meat for as long as we've been drinking water and breathing air.

Dr. Peterson, could you talk about when patriotism may not be as positive as people may think, when " tribal interests " exclude the rest of humankind? Could you also include the topic Merit, for example the ability to create solutions for problems and how disseminate corruption robs the people's rights? Finally, ( I think this thematic deserves an entire video ) how propaganda incites groups against other groups to cause division. You may like to comment on Dr. Glaucomflecken's video " divide and conquer".

Utter nonsense.
@GeorgeDeCarlo Says:
Dr. Robert Atkins talked about this years ago. The lowering of carbohydrate was noticed 100 years ago stopped seizures. But something happened at the same time. A drug was invented to stop seizures. So the drug was peddled and people could eat all the carbs, especially refined carbs & sugars, since taking the drug stopped seizures. BigPharma is a horror show. But people love drugs.

My daughter has been on the keto diet due to seizures and mitochondrial disease for many years. While it hasn't stopped her seizures, it has reduced them.
@FalloutArt Says:
My doctors refused to help walk me through the keto diet and my medications were not controlling them. After 5 years and taking my health into my own hands, I went kito and slowly introduced foods... turns out it was GLUTEN ALONE. Weened off my epilepsy meds over 6 months, continued to not eat gluten and got an EEG. Cleared. Epilepsy is removed from my medical charts and gluten was added as the cause for seizures... but I don't have epilepsy...? I'm grateful but jeeze!!!!! My whole life... just don't eat bread 😂😅 food is medicine. Food can be poison, heard lol.

I'm on a ketogenic diet and practicing intermittent fasting, and I'm hopeful that it will cure my epilepsy and the associated cognitive issues. I have complex partial seizures caused by brain damage of unknown origin. The neurologists just keep suggesting that I "try" another medication or add more medications to the ones I'm currently taking as if I'm their lab rat.

My son has a crippling rare disorder that causes him to have over a hundred seizures a day. Doose syndrome. He is 5 with the mentality of a 2 year old. He broke his skull twice in a 12 month span. The condition is almost impossible to control with drugs. We are looking at going a step beyond keto and doing carnivore as a family to support our little man. The meds we have been prescribed we can't take because it's 4k a month even with insurance. Diet is our last and only hope

I am a nurse who has treated epilepsy successfully with keto diet. Historically it was observed that starving an epileptic would stop seizures. Keto mimics starvation. Fasting would have the same calming effects upon the nervous system.

Turns out you are what you eat is more than just an old adage. Our diets in many ways make us who we are.
@akon-12345 Says:
Simple. Ketogenic diets 1) cut out grains and 2) switch your brain over to ketones. The ketone bhb is a much better fuel source than glucose, as it has twice the free energy. This means more ATP produced which means better control of the sodium potassium ion pump that causes neurons to fire. Sodium in/potassium out causes the neuron to fire, potassium in/sodium out causes the neuron to go into a resting phase- and any disregulation in this process causes disease. In epilepsy, a disregulation in going into the resting phase leaves the neuron depolarized causing it to fire unregulated. Leading to seizures. Both phases of the sodium potassium ion pump require ATP to be used- which is why when you utilize bhb for atp instead of glucose neurological diseases get better. The brain simply can allocate more energy to fixing the issue in the localized cells because theres more energy to go around (and a lot of the time the issue comes from nit enough ATP to begin with)
