Theory is we are all crazy but let it out a little at the time in order to protect ourselves.!It is important to make them laugh I did my Mom too!She passed away at 98 and for the most still had her wits about her!She would always say no fools no fun!

I loved that last few seconds where we see how Dr. Peterson’s mind works when he questions why mothers are the funny ones. I also love Rosanne. She’s always been hysterical and it’s been great to see her grow as a person over the years.

Dr. Peterson. I saw you at the MET in Philadelphia two years ago. As a psychologist and a man who works with young men trying to rebuild themselves, I thank you so much for your wisdom. A wisdom that no doubt your beloved mother helped instill within you. My sincerest condolences....truly dear sir. 🙏
@battlekitten4188 Says:
Being funny is making fun of yourself not others and women are just too narcissistic to laugh at themselves
@LilaSilk Says:
I forgot to thank you both for this conversation. Initially, I did not realise who the lady was until I read the name. I rarely was watching Rosanne back in the days. Anyway, it's lovely to know Mrs Barr is well. Wishing you all the best.

Good comedy requires a controlled aggression, which isn’t a typical female trait.
@ruthie4 Says:
My condolences Dr Peterson. Awesome podcast 💪 and big love ❤ 🫶

I have concerns for Rosanne. I had great respect for some of the topics she addressed in her younger career days. When she was funny, she was hilarious. But now, I just don’t find her funny but rather mentally unstable at times. I’m not a leftist or a Democrat, just a non partisan who finds nothing funny about Maga. Maga is a threat to our democracy. I care about Rosanne. I’m so sorry that Dr. Peterson lost his mother but it was nice to hear about how he cherished making her laugh.
@patclay6851 Says:
Roseanne around 40 years ago?? you told the joke about .. “Honey, have you seen my socks?, (Any item you think of).. ..like the uterus knows!” BAHAHAHA! We have laughed at that joke ever since!! Thank you!

I am the Thrice Great Grandmother. Before Abraham was, I was. I am a translator of vibration. I am a minister to entrepreneurs, a quantum healer, and a channel to the Inner Comic. Life is supposed to be fun, but we need to cry as much as we need to laugh; it massages the same organs in the body. It connects the heart to the mind.
@wickedbird1538 Says:
😮😮I (69F) never thought about it, but I always preferred male comedians.

Sorry for your loss Jordan. I lost my Father last week as well, and your videos on grief have been quite helpful to me. I hope you’re coping alright and celebrating your mother. You’re a voice of truth and reason, and I hope to see you in Brisbane someday!

I love Roseanne!

Someone once said comedy comes from suffering. The wonderful humour of the Irish I believe came from the turmoil and often great sadness of their history. Laughter is the best default for a lot for the terrible things that befall us.
@IRagtop Says:
I saw Roseanne at the Funny Bone Comedy Club in Dallas around 1988 in the infancy of her career. She was one of the very few / select comics that almost caused my to choke to death from laughing so hard. And what a brilliant career…she created one of best shows of all time, and rebirthed it as a continued success. It was beyond ridiculous that she was cancelled. from her own show. One of the absolute best in her business…not just best female but best overall!
@joedimaggio5224 Says:
Don’t forget to give them hell

@kevin_lazer Says:
Haven't watched you in a while but thanks for having Roseanne on. Also, don't forget to continue to stand up for people speaking the truth... like we all did for you.

Making the mother laugh…could it be as simple as it practice for trying to impress a mate?
@hunnicbarbarian103 Says:
Such a lie there is a sheit ton of female comics its not rare at all
@leahmorency7881 Says:
I just lost my father, it’s heartbreaking, I’m so sorry for your loss, I hope you find peace that she is in a better place
@Xanadu1983 Says:
Roseanne has been hilarious since day one.
@janetmichaels5040 Says:
Love and RESPECT to you both.
@Blt-rr2lm Says:
Me thinks Rosanne has either a borderline personality disorder or a substance abuse problem. Her lucidity here compared to her unhinged, not funny at all rants reveals a personality that is fluid and unpredictable. And those rants don’t seem to be for show, they seem emotional and no where near under control.
@amyd2203 Says:
There are less female comics because women tend to be dishonest about social issues. 😆
@oppositeistrue Says:
It's a shame that not enough people believe in God, not so much the stories that direct the belief, but that he (she/they) did create eveything, what you do with life is really up to you, as he whispers, don't blame me if you screw it up.
@createwithbarbbl4125 Says:
How lovely to see Roseanne, thank you for this interview.
@XenoTravis Says:
Thought that was Christina P in the thumbnail and was so happy. I can respect Roseanne but only to the level to not hate her.

I dont think its trust, I think it's hope.
@fauna3989 Says:
Roseanne was cheated and robbed. I never understood why she was cancelled. Love her. ❤️

In 2008 I moved to Hawaii from Alaska. I couldn’t find work there & was struggling. Went to a food bank event & it was happening because of Roseanne! Thank you for helping people in need! & I’m sure you don’t remember but I’ll always remember meeting you & shaking your hand! I’m back in Alaska & have work & am stable & happy ❤ Thank you for being a real kind person & continue not putting up with $#*£!!
@sarahevans3622 Says:

@gingerjones111 Says:
Daughters of wealthy millionaire/billionaire dads are the best female comedians. Gilda Radner, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Roseanne Barr, Maya Rudolph, Phyllis Diller. Very very close, Joan Rivers. Her father was a doctor and both grandfathers were rich doctors, but not necessarily millionaires. There is definitely a connection there.
@uoabigaillevey Says:
To be honest.. and I am making an assumption here.. the reason there are not many female stand up comedians is because the majority of them are just not funny. At least not consistently funny. Don't get me wrong though.. they will have a core of followers who think that their female comedian walks on water and everyone else is just wrong about her. Numbers, however, do not lie. People vote with their wallets.. and when money (and time) is a limited resource such as it is, they will want to get the most value for the money.. and in this context it means they will spend their money to see someone they believe to be funny... and ticket sales show that male comedians (in general) are funnier. I do not know if it is because it is a timing issue, an inflection issue, or a subject matter issue.. but women seem to miss the mark more than hit the mark for the mass audiences that would propel them into stardom otherwise. This is not to say that no woman can be as funny as (or even funnier than) a male comedian. It is just that the overwhelming majority of extremely successful comedians are male. This is not bashing women.. it is an observational conclusion. Now.. to theorize as to why this is: I believe it to be a cultural issue in that men tend to be taken 'more seriously' when dealing with others. I will use the example of calling up a repair shop. A female calls and the person on the other end of the phone tends to not take them as seriously as when they then speak to the male in the household (if there is one.) They tend tp take advantage of women and the perception that women cannot understand or articulate what is needed to complete the repair. Now.. take that into the realm of comedy.. men, being taken more seriously, have a better position in which to 'flip the script' for comedic purposes. A tool that women appear to not have the advantage of using to as effective a degree. Now.. on a personal note.. I do not find many female comedians to be funny. Mostly because they either bash men or make jokes about their female-specific bodily functions. The ones that I do find funny, however, make use of multiple subjects instead of those. Politics, work experiences, friends, relatives, people they have met or witnessed, experiences growing up, etc. I find those types of female comedians more relatable.. and therefore funnier.

If you would have told me when I was a child that Madonna would become the ugly dog and Roseanne Barr a beautiful woman. I would have told you you were crazy.
