Of course often overlooked is vice president Odie.
@healingv1sion Says:
10:27 honestly, who cares? Someone doesnt have to absolutely fall in love with a group of people to emphasize with their plight and fight for their equality. The "creatures" bit is dehumanizing though.
@benkeel2966 Says:
Intersting channel but factually, grossly incorrect.😢

Ron Paul>>> but James is number 2
@bethbartlett5692 Says:
Garfield is observable in his Personal growth, he emerged into his Higher Mind aka Mature Mind, essential ti his ability ti be in the role and understanding the misguided actions of the Southern Issues.
@bethbartlett5692 Says:
Note: the Republicans of the 19th Century, including Lincoln, Garfield, and Teddy Roosevelt were the essence of the Modern Democrats, like JFK, Clinton, Obama in their works being the Liberal Minded. The Parties generally swapped agendas and philosophies.
@fuqui035 Says:
They said he was assisted assisnated Lin July 2 but died in September am I reading correctly he was shot in July and died in September
@davidsonofyisrael Says:
President Odie had nothing but admiration for President Garfield. Called him his mentor.
@Hidemyname78 Says:
Back when ambition alone could get you places, I'm nostalgic for a time I never knew.
@PeacefulZealot Says:
I am so excited for when you eventually do Chester A. Arthur. No one else cares about him, sure, but I do. And I think more folks need to know about his story.
@tehdoors Says:
shouldn’t this vid be in your presidents playlist?
@DemocritusWept Says:
I just stand in awe of Garfield’s intellect, integrity, compassion, courage, charisma. Very few in history like him and an arrogant incompetent stupid dr killed him.
@austingoodrich2193 Says:
Why is this video only in 480p?
@kevinjackson2132 Says:
Stop with the political comments; it tarnishes your commentary.

@arthurvane3901 Says:
You know James A. Garfield was present of the US for 200 days. Friday, 4 March 1881 Monday, 19 September 1881
@adamr4198 Says:
As an Ohioan many of our Presidents fall short of greatness. I want to believe Garfield had the potential for greatness.
@jessemajalca5235 Says:
ifeel the black sentiment for blacks are still here same as 1860s...the same for hispanics and for whites...why call it racism anymore...just impartiality. people more comfortable with people who look like themselves,,,,not a sin in my book....shall i go to heaven when im forced to marry a black woman???
@jessemajalca5235 Says:
was not about slavery.....very wrong
@bionicleanime Says:
Just like Robert F Kennedy after him, we were robbed of a great us president.
@GeneralMeade1814 Says:
11:00 Andrew Jackson cameo!!!!!😲😲
@CheckThisOut77 Says:
The Garfield National Historic Site in Mentor, OH is excellent. It contains the first Presidential Library and original items throughout. Highly recommended.
@RobertEWaters Says:
You left out one detail: Garfield gave the nominating speech at the convention for Sherman. But he had been kept so busy that he had no opportunity to write a speech! He delivered the speech extemporaneously- and was so eloquent that it played a significant role in stampeding the convention. I wonder whether Doctor Doctor Bliss was Joseph Heller's inspiration for the character of the inept Major Major in CATCH-22!
@bionicleanime Says:
Garfield is also the only president elected that only served in the lower chamber of Congress, House of Representatives.
@rad4924 Says:
First President to be killed for trying to fight against the deep state. There, I said it.
@mattthesilent777RED Says:
I'd like a word with Charles Guiteau
@johnschuh8616 Says:
Indeed one of the ablest men every to be president, almost on the same intellectual level as Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. Despite his reservations about blacks, he was still a champion of civil rights. Had he served two terms it is likely he would have been strong enough to do what Harrison was unable to do which was the keep the Party from abandoning the cause of the blacks in the South.
@scottaznavourian3720 Says:
The irony is guitteaus plan ultimately failed cause even though arthur became president arthur (who he presumed would reinstate the spoils orogram) comtinueed garfields plan.
@PinkyJujubean Says:
It's Friday night and I could be out partying and getting drunk. Instead I'm sitting at home alone in my underwear eating ice cream and watching a biography of James Garfield. I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing
@jamesc21051979 Says:
Don't forget he was just a few years short of x ray
@Zone47. Says:
He and Washington are the only presidents I can think of with the greatest qualification for the job. They didn’t want it.
